In Solve Your Out of Control Eating by Victoria Todd and Michele Holzberger, you'll read about people who faced tough challenges with their eating habits. Their personal stories show how emotions and struggles can get in the way of making healthier choices. These stories will help you feel understood and less alone on your journey.

But this book isn't just about sharing experiences—it also gives you practical tools to overcome emotional obstacles. The authors provide quizzes, drawings, and timelines to help you identify and work through what's holding you back. You'll learn to see your eating habits as clues to deeper emotional issues like a detective solving a case. By focusing on understanding yourself rather than criticizing, you can uncover the hidden reasons behind your eating patterns.

The book combines personal stories with helpful strategies to guide you. You'll first see how others have faced their challenges, then use that inspiration to understand your struggles and find solutions. With practical tips and a new way of looking at emotional triggers, you'll be ready to make lasting changes. By applying what you learn, you'll be on your way to meeting your health and weight goals. So, turn the page and start figuring out what's behind your eating habits—if others can overcome their emotional blocks, you can too! Highly recommend!

This book is different from other books I've read about dieting. "Solve Your Out-of-Control Eating" gives specific examples of people whose childhood/adolescent issues caused them to have significant issues as adults with food, and eating. Through reading their story details, I was able to connect and even realize for the first time, how much some unhealthiness in my family dynamic influenced my disordered eating. There are no diet plans or calorie lists here, just stories and gentle reminders throughout to take care of yourself even during the reading. This book is a helpful treasure. Thanks to NetGalley and publisher for the ARC. Pub Date: August 22, 2024.
