I’ve been a fan of Chelsea Handler’s memoirs for 20 years (god, that pains me to read)….starting with her antics growing up in New Jersey. (See My Horizontal Life: A Collection of One-Night Stands). This newest offering is her 7th memoir — I haven’t read them all, nor have seen her standup in a long time. The last I saw her online, she was skiing topless for her birthday. So, I’ve pretty much got nothing in common with Chelsea.

Her latest memoir is solid and made me laugh out loud several times. Chelsea takes on personal growth and showing up for people. She’s funny, but there is a serious message her that made me think about personal growth and celebrating people while they are with us. She’s not a mom, which is sort of her trademark, but she talks about kids in her life who she’s shown up for and the meaning she’s personally gotten from those relationships. The book manages to talk about serious things while being funny.

Thank you #dialpress and #netgalley for the #gifted e-arc.

Thank you NetGalley and Random House Publishing for my ARC of this book in exchange for a my honest review. This book is set to come out on February 25th (Chelsea's birthday. yay!)

Chelsea is both hilarious and insightful all in one as we follow her through this book as she discovers herself through therapy, meditation and helping others. I found myself both laughing and tearing up while reading this book as we watch her grow into a version of who she has been trying to achieve for a while. We watch her fall in love, fall out of love, achieve goals she set for herself and be her most free and honest self. We get a first hand look into her life with her two dogs, her love for her ex-boyfriends three daughters, vacationing at her homes she purchased for herself to go to and enjoy both good, quality alone time and time with her close family and friends. You cant help but fall in love with Chelsea and her honest view on life. I loved every minuet of this book and am so thankful I got a ARC of it!

Chelsea hopes for words like "dependable, kind, munificent and free" to be used by people when they describe her. And I can say after reading this book that those words describe her perfectly!

Thank you to NetGalley and Random House for an ARC of this book. I LOVED it! I've read several of Chelsea Handler's books, but this one is my favorite. Of all her books, I'll Have What She's Having is the most sincere tribute to Chelsea's growth and transformation. It's clever and heartwarming and I had such a great time reading it. Highly recommend!!!!

“ Nothing stands the test of time quite like a tree. Leaves come and go. Always be the tree.”

Oooh, OH! This was niiiiice. I kinda, sorta, definitely loved it. Thank you, Netgalley and Penguin Random House/The Dial Press, for the eARC copy to review!
This felt like a very therapizing (is this a word yet?) experience, but in a very good way. Listen, I’m a closeted Chelsea Handler Stan, use this information at your own discretion. Never bought into the hate regarding her, and after reading this, I am sat and would listen to her talk for hours (which essentially I just did by reading this)

“If you are ever given the opportunity to spend an inordinate amount of time alone, take it. The more scared you are of being alone, the more necessary it is to do. Run toward yourself with open arms. That is where your truth is waiting.”

From what I’m understanding, this is a whole new Chelsea. She seems to have greatly benefited from therapy and has now changed her mentality on a lot of things: commitment regarding both relationships and family, her perspective on parenthood, how caring over how she is perceived, and how much information she is willing to divulge in order to honor any other parties involved in her history.

“Like many things in life, it is our choice to decide what type of person we are aiming to become. To be present-minded, be fully aware, and have mental clarity aren’t easy things to come by. I know the work I had to put in to get the negative voices out of my head, to look inward when I feel down, to pick up a book and read. That is also a practice.”

This was an incredibly refreshing take on an autobiography, or story of the a life changed as one enters a new chapter in her life. Heavily dosed with natural humor, the realness of a human despite the celebrity and stories of family, “I’ll Have What She’s Having” is an easy read that may shift some of your own perspectives. The question is, what kind of woman do you want to be? 5/5, easily.

“You’re a woman, after all. You are one of the most powerful creatures on the planet. You’ll get where you’re going.”

I was an avid watcher of Chelsea Lately and even saw her perform stand-up live once. Over the years I’ve casually paid attention to what she’s been up to, but not nearly at the level I used to. Reading this book gave me a glimpse into Chelsea “recently.” And to say that I’ve become a big fan again is an understatement. I loved this book. I love how Chelsea has evolved over the years. I love that she’s not perfect, but she has arrived at a point in her life where she has learned from her mistakes, adjusted where needed, but has never lost who she is at her core. I found so many insightful pieces as I read this and can’t wait to go back to read over all my highlights I made. The book title is perfect because I’ll have what she’s having! 🥂

Chelsea Handler is a boss, and I enjoyed this book. I’m always moved by stories on how people became the people, success, what/whoever they are, and this one was just right. Known for her hilarious storytelling and crazy life, this book had a more serious tone and look towards the future. Just like there is more to Chelsea herself, there’s more to this book too. Quite a few times I found myself surprised by some of her insights, vulnerability, and awareness. If you need every book to be a bleeding-heart narrative or completely self-less martyrdom to justify being a memoir, this one isn’t for you. I think casual fans, millennials, and people who just like to read about experiences outside of their own will enjoy this – I sure did!

Thank you to #NetGalley for a review copy of #I’llHaveWhatShe’sHaving. All feedback is my unbiased opinion, not paid, and simply for the love of books.

I'll Have What She's Having by Chelsea Handler was laugh out loud funny yet vulnerable and introspective. Chelsea’s work on herself with her therapist is showing in her essays. It’s wonderful seeing her growth through her books. If you’re a fan you’ll love this book. It was like a chat with your girlfriend who is raw, honesty and hysterical.

Thank you Random House, the author and NetGalley for providing this digital ARC in exchange for my honest review.

I honestly didn't enjoy this as much as her other books and I've read 90% of her collection of memoirs. I thought it would be a great time to read her next memoir because I really needed a laugh, but it just didn't grip me as well as her prior memoirs.

thank you netgalley and dial press for the arc!

celebrity memoirs are my true guilty pleasure and i have read far too many of them… so i can confidently say this is a top tier memoir.

as expected, the book is hilarious, but also extremely inspirational and left me feeling compelled to treat people better.

her stories about her role as a “father” to many were some of my favorites!

Some of these chapters were laugh out loud funny (like her Covid lockdown chapters - she does say how privileged she was which was good to acknowledge) and some were a little boring. She did get more serious in this book I think compared to her other books.

This was a fun read! I love Chelsea’s humor and it’s been fun watching her “grow up”. She has some solid lessons in here along with a lot of funny stories. She someone you’d love to have as a friend and her book feels like a friend confessing. Well done.

I haven’t read a Chelsea handler book in a while so I was so excited to see she had a new book releasing. This one has a different vibe but I still love Chelsea’s storytelling and her sense of humor. There were some relatable moments and a lot of laughs. Wonderful!

I never thought that Chelsea Handler would be one of those insta-buy authors for me but she somehow became that. This book solidifies that even more.

Handler is insanely funny and raw. While she's won't be everyone's cup of tea she's definitely mine. Can't wait to see what else she puts out in the future.

I'm so honored I got to read this before it is released. I am a fan of Chelsea Handler and love how blunt she is. This book was the best. I found myself laughing out loud.

The title of this book should be Chelsea Went To Therapy. We meet a new, enlightened, relaxed, trying to be her best and kindest self Chelsea. While night necessarily as funny as her previous books, this one is still entertaining and gives a lot of insight into Chelsea's outlook on life and how she wants to be treated and how she wants to treat others. Written in short essay format, it is a quick read with stories about her dogs, her ski friends at Whistler, her treating family & friends to trip to Mallorca and one funny encounter with Woody Allen.

Note, thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for a free advanced reader copy in exchange for an honest review.

Chelsea Handler's I'll Have What She's Having is a sharp, self-reflective, and surprisingly mature take on her signature humor, proving that personal growth and comedy can go hand in hand. While still delivering her trademark wit and unfiltered storytelling, this book feels more introspective than her previous works, offering candid insights on aging, relationships, and self-discovery with a refreshing depth. Handler's evolution shines through in a way that’s both hilarious and heartfelt, making this a standout read for longtime fans and newcomers alike. I absolutely loved it!
