Ah, the Cavanaugh brothers. As beautiful as they are tortured. I really enjoyed the first book in this series, Branded, and the way the story is helped along with the diary extracts of their younger sister who went missing as a child and is presumed dead. All three brother's feel this incredible loss, and some feel more guilt over it than they perhaps ought to; they were you too, after all.

In Broken we get to fall head over heels in love with the gentlest of the 3 brothers, James, and straight-laced Sheridan. James is a horse whisperer (apparently that's a thing in America) and has been off travelling the world but came back with the rest of them in Branded when their father died. His and Sheridan's chemistry was pretty instantaneous and I enjoyed watching him tear down her walls. The romance heated up, perhaps not quite to Deacon and Mac levels, but pretty darn close, and the HEA was sweet and satisfying.
