This was a good book. We meet a monster who is ready to make one of their favorite snacks. They are hoping to share it with a new friend. Yet they are surprised when this friend doesn’t seem thrilled about what they are making. They add something to the snack for them, and it turns out not agreeing with them. As this book comes to a close, the monster learns a great lesson. Some kids will have a lot of fun reading this book.

We love those fun and silly stories that keep us giggling. This is one of those and quickly became a family favorite. If you're hungry this fun little monster wants to help make you the perfect snack. You do like to eat earwax and old shoes don’t you? Oh, well that is what our monster friend's special recipe calls for. He even tries to give you some onion juice to go with it. He thinks that liking pasta and fruit is gross. How silly. Such a fun book to read with your little ones. The simple illustrations really create the perfect scene for our story. You don’t know what you're in for! Soon to be a fun family favorite. Enjoy it with your little ones.

Thank you to Quarto Publishing Group and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book for my students. This is an adorable story, just like the sleepy time story. However, I think for my students, it would be confusing in the plot. Because of these points, I have to give this a 4 out of 5 stars

Cute, funny and some laugh out loud moments.

Really enjoyed the emphasis on those gross food options and I know kids will love having to say how much they wouldn't want to eat a slimy maggoty sandwich!

Great fun!

This is a cute and silly picture book and a lovely addition to the other two! Kids LOVE farts so this will make a lot of kids giggle like crazy!

All my elementary school students will be laughing out loud at this tale.
How fun to see a monster and his take on a delicious meal. The comparison between the monster's diet and the reader's diet will be quite a contrast and quite funny. The sound effects written in bold script is sure to send everyone into hysterics.
Sure to be a hit!

A fun, interactive story that offers great vocabulary development and descriptive illustrations. My young children giggled throughout, as the monster insists on sharing a ‘delicious’ monster snack! This is a wonderfully engaging picture book for all young children.
With thanks to Quarto Publishing for the digital review copy, via NetGalley. This review is voluntary, and all opinions are my own.

This was a cute story with perfect humor and a variety of questionable snack items included. The art style is adorable, the pages dynamic and interesting for kids to look at, and the monster is incredibly expressionate. Depending on the age of the children the farting references at the end may be a touch inappropriate, but this is otherwise a great and colorful book!

What a fun book!!
What happens when you overeat something that might not be the best for you? I will let our hungry monster tell you [in his hilarious way] and you can laugh your way through this marvelous book.
Kids and adults alike will love this book, it's great illustrations, and will spark some fun [and important] discussions.
Very well done!!

😂oh my this is the funniest monster book I have read. I enjoy the way the monster in the book speaks directly to the reader .. or your little monster!

The monster food really is something to behold! The illustrations are great. I found this very engaging and a fab idea for kids to laugh along and get involved with. Happy to see there are also other books to explore.

Many thanks to the Author, Publisher and Netgalley for the ARC of this delightful book.

Directly from the mouth of my four year old daughter "Monster food is silly and I love it!"

She particularly laughed when the monster topped their sandwich with a strawberry...and the monster toot!

Are you a Hungry Monster? follows a monster as they make food for the monster reading the book, however, the book monster feels like their recipe may not be the right recipe for the reading monster.

I loved this book for children- it got my daughter to talk about delicious foods and non-delicious foods. She's generally not a picky eater, so she was really curious as to why the monster was eating all the gross things and it really made her giggle. She spent the rest of the evening making monster food, and if that's not an endorsement about how fun this book is, I don't know what is.

This books is a lot of fun and the illustrations are colorful and inviting. We both really loved that the monster was wearing glasses.

This is a great book for young readers to pick up and read by themselves, and it's also good for group reading as it will bring lots of laughs. The book can be expanded on and children can be asked to make their own monster sandwich. A discussion can be had about what gross things can be used to make a similar monster sandwich. Ours was made out of dog food, toenails, and tree moss. It was quite the adventure!

This was such an adorable and funny book. It felt so interactive, kept me engaged the entire time and had me laughing. I loved the illustrations and the use of different text styles to note change in tone. Are You a Hungry Monster is a wonderful book about food, snacks, and friends. The hungry monster wants to share a monster sandwich with you. When you the reader don’t like his sandwich the monster keeps adding things to the sandwich. In the end the hungry monster sandwich makes even the hungry monster’s stomach gassy and upset.

As a Kindergarten ECCAT that reads to the kids everyday, this is a must! It has so many fun interactive parts for the kids to engage in. It also includes some of the favorite things kids like to laugh at and think are hysterical at this age. I definitely will need this book in our classroom library!
