This is another great book in the 'Little People, BIG DREAMS' series. This time we follow the American NFL player Patrick Mahomes. He has been interested in sports all his life until he discovered his love for American Football and then followed his dream to become a star of the NFL. Also together with his wife he set up a children's charity which also encourages the kids to develop a love for reading.

Another fun, adorable little biography for very young readers from the Little People, Big Dreams series. The writing and pictures are perfect for small children, who can learn about this popular football player and how hard he worked for his success. Mahones also had a supportive family who cheered him on the whole way. Thanks to NetGalley for letting me read this.

Once upon a time, Patrick Mahomes dreamed of being a baseball star. His father was a professional pitcher, so that's probably natural. Well, he became a star, just not in baseball. Although he was an all-around talent in several sports, eventually football won Mahomes' heart. The Kansas City Chiefs and fans are glad he made that decision.

While I know Mahomes name and face from his football highlights, and there are many, I realized I knew nothing about him as a person. Well, I did recall a wife and child but that was about it. So, this book taught me a few things, too, even though aimed at children. As it turns out, Mahomes comes from a divorced family and was largely raised by his mother. His athletic skills carried him through high school and on to college where he eventually settled on football as his primary sport. Several Super Bowl appearances and championship titles later, the world knows his name.

While I rather wished this book had focused more on the person of Patrick Mahomes and not quite so much on his football status, it does give us a glimpse into what formed him. Even as a casual football fan it's seemed to me that he's relatively humble, taking neither his success for granted or himself, for that matter. Those aspects are definitely well earned and a reminder to the youngest wannabe sports star that responsibility comes with success, too.

The illustrations are simple yet effective with lots of Kansas City Chief colors, I might add. That said, they also show him with his family, both his parents and his own. Readers can take inspiration from him and come to see that talent isn't the only thing required to be a success. You have to be smart enough to take advantage of that talent without losing track of what's important. Mahomes seems to grasp that idea, making him someone to not just idolize but try to emulate, both as an athlete and person,. Thanks @QuartoPublishingGroup - #FrancesLincolnChildren'sBooks for this early peek into the life and times of a talented, well-rounded, and well-grounded young man. I'm sure we will hear more about him in the future.

My son is a HUGE Patrick Mahomes and KC fan. He's 12, so he is older than the demographic to read this book (6-8 yrs). I thought since he is a major fan that this would be something nice for him to have. I had him read it and it still has entertained for a quick read. I too read it, and it's cute! IT's also informative and engaging if you have little ones that are football/ sports fans. The illustrations are clean and nice to look at. I love this little book and im glad I got it!

I didn’t know much about Patrick before, ahem, Taylor Swift introduced me to the NFL, but the more I’ve learned the more I am so impressed by him and his life. This book truly captures the heart of Patrick’s story and is so full of encouragement and motivation to keep pushing for your dreams. Another wonderful addition to my family’s favorite book series!

This is another cute and inspiring instalment of the Little People, Big Dreams series. The colourful illustrations - especially those of Patrick trying out different sports as a child - are memorable and fabulous! Was it even better because I’m a recent convert to being a Chief’s fan because of Taylor Swift’s boyfriend? Maybe :)

Thanks to NetGalley for the opportunity to view a digital copy for review consideration.

I really appreciated this entry into the Little People, Big Dreams series! It covers Patrick Mahomes, an NFL player from Texas. I was not at all familiar with Patrick's story. This was a great little biography that focused on his sports success & charitable causes. I think it would be a great read for kiddos who are interested in sports!

Thanks to NetGalley, Quarto Publishing, and Maria Isabel Sanchez Vegara for the chance to read and review. My opinions are my own!

Big, big thank you to Maria Isabel Sanchez Vergara, the author, Guilherme Karsten, the illustrator, Frances Lincoln Children's Books, and NetGalley for the privilege of being able to read this installment of the Little People, Big Dreams series focused on Super Bowl Champion, Patrick Mahomes. I will share my review to Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and Goodreads upon release. I really love this series, and the illustrations are always so great. The illustrations in this one are no exception. The pictures are very dynamic and engaging, much like the character of Mahomes. Many kids look up to him as a role model because of his prowess on the field and his personality off the field, and I have a feeling this little book will be a hit with kids who like football and Chiefs fans. The story of Mahomes' life as a young baseball player who fell in love with playing football is a great example to show children that following your strengths and passions can take you to the moon. At the end, there is a more detailed biographical story with some real-life pictures to help add more context. I think parents and children will be able to have good discussions when reading through the book. There are good lessons to be learned in his story, and I appreciate the author and the Little People, Big Dreams series for sharing them in an age-appropriate and adorable way! Thanks again.

I love the books in this series and always find something new in them.

This was a book that focused on a fairly new sporting legend - Patrick Mahomes - Patrick is famous as the American Football Quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs and his part in making them Superbowl Champions 3 times in the space of 5 years! I live in the UK but I am aware of who he is, but that may not be the case for all so this book could be a great introduction to him.

This book shows how much you can potentially achieve if you follow your dreams - he has broken a lot of records so far and I am sure that there will be more to come as he is only 29 years of age! The book also touches on some of the charity work that he has done and set up with his wonderfully supportive wife Brittany, who was his high school sweetheart. He is also part owner of Kansas City Current ladies football (soccer) team.

Lovely images and another great addition to the series - 4 stars from me for this one

This book is adorable and actually tells some interesting stories about Patrick Mahomes life. I had no idea that his dad was a baseball player. Shows a good example of resiliency towards the end.

Thank you NetGalley, Maria Isabel Sanchez Vegara and Quarto Publishing Group – Frances Lincoln Children's Books for this ARC.

I love seeing a Little People, Big Dreams new release! To be honest, my football knowledge is fairly brief so this installment about Patrick Mahomes was mostly new information. I appreciate that these books never skip over tough times (ex: the divorce of his parents). Young readers could feel a connection to celebrities who have experienced the same sorts of things. The illustrations are cute, as always, and the page count is perfect for young readers.

Thanks to Quarto Publishing Group – Frances Lincoln Children's Books and NetGalley for an eARC of this book for an honest review.

I really like these Little People, Big Dreams books and this one is no exception. They make the stories of important/known people very accessible for kids and they are always beautifully illustrated. Patrick Mahomes definitely is a newer addition to the "great people", but I believe his story can influence and also inspire little kids to follow their dreams. Really enjoyed this!

The Little People Big Dreams books are always popular in our house. This was cute, I loved the illustrations. Page 6 seemed a little disjointed from the rest of the book but all in all a good children’s read.

This book is adorable! A great story for any kid, but especially a sports fan! The illustrations are wonderful and it tells the story in a way that gives the information but isn’t too focused on details that little kids can’t follow it. I really enjoyed this book - I also think it’s the perfect length to read for kids!
