In this season of my life, of being worn, stressed, burnt out, overwhelmed, "doing all the things" (need I go on?)...Jen's book spoke to me. It is relatable and honest, which I believe so many of us are searching for. We crave connection and relationship, not judgement. I appreciated this book just as much I thought I would! Absolutely loved it!! 5 stars!!! *I received a complimentary ARC from the author/publishing company via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts & opinions are my own.

Return to Jesus is a gorgeously written and accessible book loaded with anecdotes and practical ways women can carve out time, prioritize, and find peace in Jesus. Most of us experience busyness but what truly matters is how we react to it, live it and learn from it. We are all human and all sin but Jesus always welcomes us back with open arms and no time constraints.

What a great reminder that joy comes in the morning and the relief of forgiveness is tremendous. Many of us are people pleasers and have trouble saying no...especially without justification. But in order to prioritize God, we sometimes need to. Legalism is a biggie for me as I grew up in a loving but legalistic church. The importance of true surrender cannot be emphasized enough. But there is much more here.

I like that the author includes a prayer and one minute, one hour and one day projects or ideas reflecting the topic in each chapter. These are all doable and really enforce the idea of mindfully making excellent habits.

Though there was no new-to-me information, boy, it was an encouragement and made me thirsty again. I love that.

"Return to Jesus" is a quest for answers and the discovery of God's peace. I appreciated the profound insights and anticipate revisiting this book frequently. The call to abide with Christ and recommit is a daily journey. As a woman and mother, I valued the wisdom and moments of epiphany this book provided. Reflecting on it introspectively, I realized the necessity of establishing healthy boundaries. It imparted skills to mitigate anxiety and receive God's grace. It addressed the guilt associated with sinning and taught me how to forgive myself. I will be recommending this book to my family, friends, and women's Bible study group.
Many thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this ARC.

Return to Jesus, gifted by NetGalley, is a well-written and thoughtful book that delivers a meaningful message about refocusing on Christ in our daily lives. The author’s writing style is clear and engaging, making the book accessible to a wide audience.

While I appreciated the themes and the sound biblical foundation, I didn’t find it as compelling as I had hoped. Although the content was solid and spiritually grounded, it didn’t fully grab my attention or leave a lasting impression. At times, it felt like it lacked the spark to make it truly memorable.

That said, the author’s insights are valuable, and this book would be a good fit for anyone seeking to deepen their walk with Jesus or recalibrate their spiritual priorities. It’s a worthy read, even if it didn’t fully resonate with me personally.

“Return to Jesus” is a beautiful invitation to moments with God in the midst of our daily lives. The hustle and bustle often distracts us from the grounding encouragement we get from spending time with the Lord. Jen Thompson’s writing was beautiful and served as a great reminder to be present with Jesus.

Many thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this ARC.
