I received a copy of this eBook from netGalley for a honest review.

Patty Cake's daddy has a monster problem and Patty Cake has to help him solve it. A cute picture book about scaring away what keeps us up at night.

A real cute read that turns bedtime monsters upside down. It is daddy who is scared of the dark and the beasties that might come out and get him, his daughter is fast asleep and is awoken to go and help and console daddy. The rhyming is lovely and allowed me to read to my little one in a suitably sing along voice which went down well. The images are good although there are a few that are a little scary in darker colours that I spent some time explaining to my little one as we were reading. A lovely heart filled ending though.

Patty Cake is trying to sleep at night, but her dad keeps waking her up to deal with his monsters! This is a rhyming book and goes through the days of the week. My kids loved this one.

Thank you so much to BookBaby and Netgalley for the ebook to read and review.

Daddy Cake is scared, there are monsters in his room all night long, every single night. He is scared and cannot sleep. He wakes his sleeping daughter Patty Cake to come and help him as he’s so scared.

I’m honestly having mixed feelings over this story, it was written nicely, the illustrations were cute, seeing all the different and strange monsters that were in his room. Though the story itself was so strange an adult that was requiring his tiny daughter to solve his problem of scaring the monsters away and to console him.

Like I said I’m very torn on how I feel, I liked parts of it certainly but as a whole it still was a little strange with the whole situation of it. The story was a reverse of what you’d normally get. In one way it’s great showing the children reading that parents can be very very scared too, but also it’s showing that a child should be like a parent and figure out and solve the problems for them.

I really liked this story! It was well written, loved the way the book rhymed and the twist on the norm, where it is the child that isn't scared and their dad is, was great!

The illustrations worked well with the book and helped to bring the story to life. Everything about the book was well done and it was a pleasure to read with my daughter - she thought it was funny and really enjoyed it and there were a fair few giggles too and she is one who doesn't like the dark and loved that the book showed that some grown ups can be scared of it too.

It is 5 stars from me for this one, very highly recommended!

In this short rhyming children's book, the narrative is the reverse of the child being scared of monsters under their bed. This time, it is Dad who is afraid of the monsters. This book is very entertaining and made me laugh. Children will love this story because they will finally feel validated in their fears of the dark.
The colorful illustrations provide an excellent visualization of the storyline. I would recommend this book to any mom of a small child.

I love the art and the rhymes, but my favorite thing about this book is that Dad is the one afraid of the monster under the bed. This would have been a huge advantage for my kids. There is also a cute chant that banishes the monsters that you can practice with your child to ease some of the scariness of going to bed. I love this so much and wish it existed when my kids were small.

Unfortunately this story was not to my liking. I just can't connect with the idea of a small child having to soothe an adult from a fear. While reading the story the "adult" is in a constant panic and I cant see how that would make a child anything other than nervous. It goes on and on with the child seeming confused more than anything at the dads behavior.
The monsters are silly and funny yes but I worry that the role reversal seems like it would have the opposite effect. I see how it can be used for a to show adults can be scared and that a child can be big and brave and help but that's not the role of a child.

The illustrations are sweet and colorful.very well done.⭐

Hopefully someone else can enjoy this more than I did as I'm sure it will help someone somewhere 😊.

Thanks to the Author and Publisher through Netgalley for the ARC.

I think Patty Cake and the Monsters Under the Bed is a perfect, fresh take on picture books about scary monsters after dark. I loved that the young girl is helping her father to not be scared throughout this book! The rhyming structure was fun, the illustrations were adorable, and I felt like this one was paced really well! Thanks to NetGalley, Vanessa Ann Vigilante, and Bookbaby for the chance to read and review. My opinions are my own!

Patty Cake and the Monsters Under the Bed is an absolute delight! Patty Cake flips the script by helping her dad conquer his fear of those pesky under-the-bed monsters in a charming rhyming tale full of heart and humor. Each day brings a new, quirky monster, keeping the story fresh and fun. I loved the clever twist of a child helping a parent—it made me smile the whole way through. Perfect for bedtime or anytime, this book is a gem for kids and grown-ups alike!

Super heartwarming and creative book that teaches young readers to fight their fears. This book definitely pushes back against the common fear that little ones have about monsters living under their bed. However, it doesn't do this is just any old way. The author and illustrator worked together to dream up unique monsters that are scary but also funny at times (thanks to the brilliant illustrations!). This brought A LOT of variety/diversity to the book and kept readers guessing and engaged throughout the entire book. Lastly, this book was organized really well! The author went through what monster appears on each day of the week, and this gave the book a nice structure. The ending didn't come too soon/late, and the overall book was a good length.
Bravo!

OMG, Patty Cake and the Monsters Under the Bed is SO stinkin’ cute! I mean, Patty Cake helping her dad deal with monsters? Total role reversal, and I’m here for it. The rhymes are snappy, the monsters are hilarious, and it’s just the right amount of silly. I read this with my niece, and she made me promise to read it again tomorrow. If you want giggles and monster fun, grab this book ASAP! 🛌👾

Patty Cake and the Monsters Under the Bed is about a dad who keeps dreaming about monsters under the bed! His daughter helps come up with a solution to make them go away.

I liked that the adult was the one dealing with a fear instead of a child and and that the child helped come up with the solution. Kids will like this twist and seeing how they could be in a position of strength and having ideas listened to. The illustrations are cute and there are some wild looking monsters! The rhyming keeps it engaging for younger kiddos.
