This Lenten devotional is a very well written and put together guide for anyone wishing to expand their Lenten prayer life. I would also say this particular devotional would be great for anyone all year round. Being a Catholic that isn't particularly familiar with St. Padre Pio's writings or philosophy, this was a great initial exposure for myself to the great Saint, and a good brief view into his interior and public life.

Bartoli draws on Padre Pio's journey through his suffering leading up to the stigmata. Through daily reflections, she highlights Padre Pio's suffering through his letters. Each day starts with a quote from a Sanit or a Catholic writer. The next section each of the daily reflections gives you a summary of his life along with an excerpt from his letter to Father Augustino. Each day ends with a reflection and prayer. After the prayer, you are asked to do one Our Father, One Hail Mary, and one Glory Be. Each day's entry should take less than 10 mins and bring you closer to Padre Pio, Jesus, and Mary. These are perfect Lenten reflections for a Catholic friend's library.
