This was my first time reading a book from this author and I enjoyed all of it. Legacy and Bless are two complicated MCs, which makes their situation more believable. The storyline kept me wanting more.
Big thanks to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for the advanced audiobook copy! I really appreciate the chance to listen to this, but I have to admit, the narrator’s voice for Legacy just didn’t work for me. It kept pulling me out of the story and made it hard to focus.
I struggled to keep up with the plot and feel like I missed some of the depth because of it. I think I’ll give the physical book a try instead—it seems like a story worth exploring in another format.
3.5⭐️ for the audio (the book itself was 3.75 ⭐️ for me) "Sooner or later, we end up where we should be with who we should be with." This book was about reconciliation after a trauma filled past. It was a good book it was just repetitive in a lot of areas which I believe is why the book was longer than needed to be. I was NOT a fan of how it was narrated which is why I went down in my rating. The man was overdoing it and the woman sounded like she was reading a bedtime story to me.
I mean this audiobook came out the gate swinging and I was happy I had headphones on while listening. lol Also a very special sorority was mentioned and that alone won my reading heart. Absolutely amazing job by the author and narrators.
This was a very intricate and drama filled romance book! I say that as a telenovela lover!
Second chance romance with a nice thorough explanation on how they ended.
the couples back and forth was honestly so real and raw. I and many others can relate to a lot of the aspects of their relationship dynamic.
The steam was really good in here too!
Overall a solid urban romance with a lively supporting cast.
When I first started listening to this I got very excited as it was giving me “before I let go: Kennedy Ryan” which… is my favourite book of all time. The voice actors were good and I could see that this was going to be a similar, heartbreaking experience. While it didn’t live up to my dizzying standards of being compared to the GOAT, it was still a good read.
There was a lot going on in this story with drama on both sides of the family, gangs, drug addiction, teenage pregnancy, trying to date, family health issues, businesses in trouble… the list goes on.
CN: gang/gun violence, murder, attempted SA of the FMC, drug use and addiction by the MMC, pregnancy and talk of abortion.
Thanks to #netgallery and publisher for a copy of this book.

These characters went through hell and back addiction early pregnancy friends, with drama, their drama, their families drama! It felt like I was reading power that’s on HBO and I absolutely loved it. I would highly recommend this to any of my followers. I will say I felt like this could’ve been shorter and it could’ve been a lot less dramatic but otherwise good this is my first book of this author.
Hook, Line and sinker!!! I'm a lifetime fan of Jessica. This story had me all in my feelings. The story was raw, gripping, heartbreaking but it also had me so hopeful. The story of Bless and Legacy was heart-wrenching story of love and loss and the possibility of loving again. Bless, girl I related to you so much. I know the feeling of loving someone but knowing it's not healthy and the courage it takes to walk away. Because love is so tricky some times. But Legacy, my heart broke for you. But your fight and determination to recover and fight for your family 🤯. I was rooting for you the entire time. Oh, and Legacy your dad was an amazing father figured but your mom can go straight to hell. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ across the board.
Jessica writes some great stories and this one did not disappoint. I love the story of Legacy and Bless but the narrators not so much. Myles did a good job with his roles but Opal fell extremely short with her roles. When it came to Bless and the other female character the narrator made it hard to move on with this book especially in the moments where it was clear that the female character should've/would've been upset. Moments like these made the book's flow feel off. Overall I loved the book but hated the female narrator. Myles started out a little shaky but found a good rhythm. While I recommend this book I'm unsure if I would recommend the audio version.
Property of a Legacy was a great story, and the narrators did a fantastic job with the story, the characters and portraying the feelings the characters were feeling throughout the story. I felt every emotion as if they were my own and I was going through the ups and downs with the characters. I love being able to listen to an audiobook and being able to feel the emotions I am meant to feel through the narrator's words. Bless and Legacys love was unmatched, and their journey was one not only filled with love but there was also sadness, heartbreak, family issues, betrayal, therapy, redemption and more. I even enjoyed the side characters, and I wish I got the ending to their story but overall, this was a great story that displays the strength and power of love. This will not be my last story from this author.

Legacy and Bless have weathered every storm together. Their love has endured addiction, betrayal, and heartache, which forced them apart for years.
This story will definitely hit you in the feels in the most painfully beautiful way! I wish I could read this book again for the first time.
The audiobook is amazing! It's dual narration, which I love. The narrators did a great job bringing the story and characters alive! They were extremely easy to listen to and also followed along with the story!
Thank you, Netgalley, and Dreamscape Media for the audiobook in exchange for my honest review.
I’m so grateful to the publishers for providing me with an early copy of the audiobook for Property of a Legacy by Jessica Watkins. Unfortunately, I couldn’t finish listening to it.
Legacy’s voice didn’t match the character’s description or vibe at all. In the first chapter, he’s described as having a low baritone voice, but the narrator’s tone didn’t reflect that, which made it hard for me to stay immersed in the story. Despite this, I tried to push through—until I heard Bless. She’s portrayed as young and attractive, but the narrator’s voice sounded more like one of my older aunts, completely clashing with her character.
Since I’m already invested in the story, I’ve decided to read it on Kindle Unlimited instead!
