This was a very good book, I was able to have the ALC, and it was amazing. I can assume it is hard to love a partner that won't help themself. Loving a partner that is a codependent and chooses to use their connection as a crutch, to show love. Trip was a mans, man, he stepped up and chose a healthy relationship for his daughter and his future. I love Tay looked on how love should look, even within struggles of a single parent waring to be loved by a warm and loving woman and that loves your child in the process.
4.5⭐️I had such a great time with this story!! I love a loving father who is not afraid of asking for help. Tripp was doing everything but the way Brylee came in and helped him to let his cape down - was mesmerizing! This was such a beautiful story! I felt for Skye, a little.
I listened to the audiobook and it was fantastic!
Tripp may be an experienced firefighter but he is notorious for stroking the flames and Brylee is afraid of being burned.
Especially when there is a gaslighter in the mix.
Inflamed in His Love is the perfect book to bring to book club because there are layers to this forced proximity, single dad x nanny romance.
Each character brought a level of complexity and depth to the story because of their backstory which dictated their actions. Tay did a great job of making each character flawed causing me really think how everything unfolded. Truth be told, there was a lot of tiptoeing around and definitely could be categorized as cheating but the only person who clocked it was Rose. (Tripp's mom was the real MVP)
I really appreciated how fleshed out the side characters were and how well Tay Mo'Nae set up the story to potentially be a series. If she wants to give Leo his marriage in trouble romance or hand Harlem and Terrence their ass in love I'd be all in.
I highly recommend the audiobook with Trei Taylor and Myles Washington! The brought both characters to life.
A single dad firefighter Tripp falls for his new live-in nanny, Brylee in this dual POV, slow burn romance featuring two Black MCs. This book touches on some tough topics (addiction, rehab, parental abandonment) and some parts weren't for me (Tripp isn't officially separated from the mother of his child and there's an unplanned pregnancy) but overall it was an emotional, spicy read that was good on audio. Recommended for fans of authors like Tony Shiloh or Charity Shane. Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an early audio copy in exchange for my honest review!
Thank you to NetGalley for providing the advanced audiobook of Inflamed in His Love by Tay Monae – it was such a treat to listen to! This book kept me entertained through my workdays, even though it was on the longer side. At first, I wasn't sure about the narrator's voice—it made the characters sound older than I pictured them. But after a while, I warmed up to it, and it didn't really take away from the experience.
I have to say, I absolutely loved the slow-burn romance! There were moments when I felt like I could’ve done without the steamier scenes and still been just as hooked—honestly, I would have been perfectly content with a PG13 version of this story. But once Brylee and Tripp started getting a little reckless, I was like, "Okay, I see where this is going!"
There’s one moment that had me rolling my eyes, though—spoiler alert—when Brylee’s grandmother tells her she’s pregnant, and Brylee’s first response is basically, “Not me, girl!” Like, come on, really? We all saw that coming. 😂
Overall, the story was a little long, but it felt a lot like listening to a Tyler Perry movie—or even more so, a Tyler Perry play. I also think the cover this book is a little misleading because you would think the book would be a good portion of firefighter stuff but that's not the case here. I kind of wanted more of that firefighter element in there. Give me some more drama around that. Even though the characters weren't necessarily my favorite, and the narrators voice didn't help, I still loved listening to the story. It's dramatic, entertaining, and full of heart. If you're looking for a bit of a ride with a slow-burn romance, this one’s definitely worth a listen!
This book had all the pretty cute moments and it was just what I wanted a year ago when I was very deep in my 9-1-1 (show) obsession and wanted a firefighter romance. This is what Ignite by Melanie Harlow should be. This man loved this woman and there was this "I can't, but I can't be away from you".
All the cute moments between Brylee and the baby had me awing. That third act had me screaming, but I loved them. This is what I wanted.
I got an alc of this book on NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
The narrator for the main male character was okay. He wasn't my favorite but honey! The narrator for the FMC showed up and showed out!! The overall story though was nice, sweet, and cozy to read. Lee Lee and Scottlyn's relationship pulled so many of my heart strings 🥰🥰🥰 and the spice level was just right 🔥🔥

Narrated by Trei Taylor, Myles Washington
As a newly single father and firefighter, Tripp is in desperate need of someone to help him with his baby girl. When her daycare job comes to a fiery end, Brylee is in need of a job. Perfect match it would seem. However, there will be a few stumbling blocks on their way to HEA.
They are both really good people with past trauma. They both grow a bit during this journey. The twist and turns made them stronger.
The narrators added personality to the characters. They made the story easy to follow.
Both narrators an amazing job. Even with the kid voices and cries of baby girl lol. This was engaging and heartfelt. Firefighter Tripp is pretty much a single working dad. He has a 6 month old baby girl and a girlfriend who is addicted to drugs and not caring for their child. Tripp cant leave his daughter in an unsafe situation which leads him to consider bringing in a nanny to help. Brylee is a preschool teacher who loves kids even though she came from a broken home herself, She is just what Tripp needs to help him with his daughter, This story jsut pulled at the heart strings in so many ways. Definitely recommend,
This was a great audiobook! The narrators did a fantastic job! I didn’t love the plots and how it progressed through out the book.
I jumped at the chance for a firefighter romance, but I not the audience for this one. The vernacular, the dramas, the overuse of the n word… it was uncomfortable. The story itself was predictable and several actions seemed out of character and stereotypical.
Narrators were good at showing emotion and attitude when needed.
I had to dnf the book at 57%. I think the nanny genre is not for me. I do like first responder books so i had hopes it would be a good one. But unfortunately there was not much about tripp’’s job. It was mostly about brylee and tripp’s child.
I like the narators they did a great job, i did feel like there was a diffrence at audio volum at times.
Wont be rating the book on other platforms to give the book a fair chance for other readers.
This is a Romance. I found it overall just to be ok, and I did not find anything special about this book. There was a word used a handful of times in this book that I really hate and it made me mad to have it used in this book. I received an ARC of this book. This review is my own honest opinion about the book like all my reviews are.

First, this cover art is beautiful! He's a newly single father with a demanding job as a firefighter. The situation with his daughter's mom is sticky. She's a newly unemployed daycare worker in need of a new job. It becomes harder to manage being a full-time father to a newborn and the hours his job demands, so when he sees an opportunity to hire Brylee as an in-house nanny, he doesn't hesitate.
From the very beginning, I was hooked and couldn't let go! I devoured this audiobook in one day! The storyline, the relationship between Tripp, his daughter, and Brylee was beautifully done. I love Tripp's character and the fact that he is a Black firefighter! But his character was mentally strong; raising an infant and dealing with a baby mama who is a junkie couldn't be easy. Brylee was like a breath of fresh air. Simply put, the audiobook was good; I enjoyed it. The narrator did a good job; their voices were easy to listen to and also easy to follow along with the storyline.

Thank you, Netgellay, and Dreamscape Media for the audiobook in exchange for my honest review.
This book was so cute I love the family unit and the healing journeys and self improvement nearly all characters went .. loved the epilogue
Delightful romance!
I truly enjoyed this story so much. It has all the romance elements look for and enjoy. Equal parts wholesome and cozy with just the perfect edge of drama that urban romance guarantees.
I just realized I do not read enough firefighter romances! I appreciate the amount of fire house descriptions put in. I also love the way the two MCs fall for each other. I really like the pacing of the love. It was respectful and just the right amount of realistic that a romance novel can deliver.
Highly recommend to all!
Quick Summary: A single dad-nanny romance
My Review: Inflamed In His Love by Tay Mo'Nae is a 2024 contemporary release.
About the Book: "He’s a newly single father with a demanding job as a firefighter. She’s a newly unemployed daycare worker in need of new job. Tripp believes it’s fate..."
A firefighting father in need of a caregiver for his baby girl decides to hire a former daycare worker who is in need of a job. Everything is going well...until lines get crossed and unresolved conflicts come to the forefront. Once that happens, there is no going back.
About the Narration: This book was narrated by Trei Taylor and Myles Washington. They did a good job with character identity and expression. The emotional tone of the characters was there, the pacing and delivery of timed responses was there, and the tension filled conversations were there.
My Final Say: This was a serious business story. Hard issues were presented. While romance was evident, other matters weighed in, when it came to the lives of the leads. Dysfunctional relationships, family unrest, addiction, abuse, abandonment, and more told the story. I was invested in finding out the outcome.
Other: There are several triggers in this story. It will be important for readers to refer to the author/publisher notes.
