This sequel had me GASPING! Im going to try to keep this spoiler free but let me tell you, this love triangle kept me GUESSING the entire book. Friends to lovers vs enemies to lovers to enemies to ??? SUCH A ROLLER COASTER OF EMOTIONS. Cecilia is one of my favorite FMCs.

As I was lucky enough to be given an ALC through NetGalley, I will say, as with the audiobook of book 1, the narrator absolutely killed it. I love the dramatics and the emotion. The dual POV with the male narrator was a great touch too.

Super excited to continue this series!

Thanks to Dreamscape Media for an ALC in exchange for my honest review!

The Memory Curse is whet we get two new points of view: Rainer McKay and Xander Saverro. Will Damron and Tim Campbell do a wonderful job of portraying Guardian McKay and the Storm Prince, and Caitlin Kelly continues to bring Cece to life beautifully. The story itself is heartbreaking and stunningly beautiful. Cece, Rainer, and Xander have so many physical, mental, and emotional trials to endure and they handle them all with vulnerability and strength. I really cannot recommend this series enough.

This audiobook is a re-read for me, and it was amazing hearing our narrators bring Cece & the boys to live out loud instead of just in my head. The sad scenes were even more heartbreaking in audio, and the happy scenes brought me even more joy.

This book holds such a special place in my heart- I am so happy to have another way to access the story.

Thank you to Sheila and the Dreamscape Media team for an advanced copy- all my obsessive thoughts are my own.

The Lost God series is one of my favorites and experiencing it all over again in audio has been an absolute treat. As we get multiple POV in this one, the male narrators have a chance to shine. And let me tell you, they absolutely nailed it!

The first time we heard Rainer’s POV wrecked me! He and Xander’s inner turmoil was perfectly executed and you definitely go through all the emotions right along side these characters. Cece, Rainer, and Xander are all struggling with grief, loss, and the choices they’ve made and how they impact their future. I cried reading the book and, no shocker here, cried again listening to the audio. So well done!!

Plus, I loved picking up on all the foreshadowing that we missed the first time around!

The Lost God series is not to be missed and the audiobooks perfectly capture all the emotions you are bound to experience through! Cannot wait for TSK, releasing soon!

This book hurt so good! 😭 💔

I've read hundreds of books and only a few have ever made me cry. This was one of them.

It was angst and meloncholy at it's finest. Mixed in with war strategy, magic and newfound powers, character growth, and tragedy along the way.

A couple parts also had me cackling! 😆 The banter is 🤌.

I realize love triangles are polarizing and so many authors shy away from "true/legit" love triangles, but not Sheila, and I love her for it. Love em' or hate em', I am that kind of masochist who soaked up every chapter and swing of the pendulum.

Also, the narrators are fantastic and truly capture the characters perfectly.

I recently received an advanced listener copy of "The Memory Curse," and I was thoroughly impressed. The narrators did a phenomenal job, each bringing their unique flair to the story. Their rich, emotive voices added depth and dimension to the characters, making every scene feel more vivid and engaging. The way they captured the nuances of the storyline helped me connect with the characters on a deeper level. It was as if the narrators breathed life into the text, transforming it into an immersive experience. Overall, this audiobook is a must-listen for anyone looking to dive into a captivating tale!

This was so emotional, but so good! Cece, Xander, and Rainer go through so much in this book. This left me really looking forward to more character development in the next book. The stakes felt even higher in TMC, both in terms of trying to avoid/end a war and in terms of navigating relationships.

Love triangles are not always my favorite trope to read, but in these books, it works. I could really feel Cece’s struggle and near inability to choose between the two love interests. And while both love interests had their faults, they were still likable and I found myself, much like Cece, struggling to decide who the better choice would be.

While the ending definitely sets things up for The Storm King, it wasn’t one of those cliffhangers that had me throwing my book at the wall.

I am so thankful to have received an ALC of the audiobook of The Memory Curse and I loved it. It was even better the second time around (after having ARC read the physical book in Dec 2023) and the voice actors absolutely knocked it out of the park. The characters were so dynamic and the emotion that was poured into this story just enraptures you. The heartbreak was even more shattering when listening. I highly recommend giving the audio a listen!

Ya’ll… Sheila sure does know how to tap into all the feelings and emotions and did just that with this book. This book hurts. While I had a little bit of difficulty with how quickly Xander and Cecelia’s relationship grew in the first book, I felt for him in this book, though my heart will always lie with Rain. And boy did Sheila take our emotions for sharp twists and turns in this book developing these relationships and the nuances of all of the big feelings these characters had.

This book felt a little slower to me and not as much action packed, but the character building and growth in this book was top notch we were really brought on on emotional journey. I do hope we get to see more of the gods in the next book. Cannot wait to listen to The Storm King but not sure I’m ready to listen to the emotional trauma to come.

If you’re hoping for a fantasy romance packed with high-stakes adventure, swoon-worthy romance, and the most perfectly written love triangle you’ll ever read (that will have you screaming “Why choose?!”), look no further. The Memory Curse is a breathtaking story that will grab you by the heartstrings and refuse to let go. Sheila Masterson is a master of her craft and absolutely nails every twist, turn, and drop of what I assure you will be an emotional roller coaster in the best of ways. Whoever had the idea of casting Caitlin Kelly, Will Damron, and Tim Campbell deserves all the awards. I cannot say enough good things about the way these talented actors brought the book and the characters of Cece, Rainer, and Xander to life. The storytelling is unmatched, and I am so excited to hear what they do with the rest of the series.

This series is so good the interwoven emotions of grief for things that never were and never could be are amazing and so relatable and refreshing.

Cecelia’s character development was on full display in this book as she explores her powers and finds new uses for it.

Not to mention that she and Rainer have their moment YASSSS

I didn't realize going into this one that it was the second book in a series. Once I realized, I decided to put it on the back-burner.

I read the first few chapters, and I think the book would have easily made sense without reading the first one. (I didn't feel lost at all.)

But it also seemed like it was going to be a really good book, so I wanted to go back and read the first one first.

Unfortunately, my libraries don't carry it, and I'm currently out of Audible credits, so it may be a bit. I am EXTREMELY excited about this one, though, and as I said, the first few chapters were very engaging. So I'm going to rate it a 4 because I'm almost positive I'm going to enjoy it!

The Memory Curse is such a beautifully emotional journey. It's not only a story about finding love from others, but for Cecilia, it's about loving herself and choosing herself. I am beyond impressed by how well all of that emotion came through in the narrations. These narrators are incredible. They did an amazing job bringing the emotional impact as well as creating a unique voice for their characters.

One thing I love about The Memory Curse is how different the reading experience will be based on your own life experiences. There's something for everyone to relate to, and I think that's so beautiful. This book opens up the world a bit more, and we get to meet more of the gods and goddesses and see what kind of games Cato is really playing. There's plenty of action, love, relationship turmoil, and spicy scenes that have become a signature for Sheila Masterson.

This may be book two in a four book series, but I love that it doesn't feel like a filler book. It stands on its own and helps to propel the second half of the series forward. I would highly recommend this series to anyone who loves an emotional ride in their romantasy books.

Hearing the dedication alone had my heart in my throat.

A standing ovation is needed for the narrators - Caitlin Kelly, Tim Campbell and Will Damron! They are perfect and fully capture the emotion, tone and dialogue of Cece, Xander and Rainer!

The audio experience really hits you in the feels! Caitlin’s character voice changes during her chapters are brilliant! I am in awe of her. When Tim voiced the first Xander POV, I zoned out until the chapter changed and was left speechless. He is exactly how I imagined Xander.

The Memory Curse has pivotal moments, revelations, big feelings, realizations and sacrifices that are truly heartbreaking but needed for growth, strength and clarity.

Sheila reminds me how powerful words are, how precious memories can be and how actions have consequences. & when the world tries to make us hard, we still should not hide the “too much” parts of ourselves and give ourselves the freedom and space to love and be who we want to be.

I love Sheila’s mind and the stories she brings to life! I will forever scream, cry and laugh over this series and honestly, anything she writes! The audiobooks are such a treat and a must-listen for a reread or to indulge in the series for the first time.

Oof this one hurt. I think this is the first love triangle I’ve read that truly had me split though I still find myself left feeling more for Xander. My heart hurt for him so much for everything he went through. I’m not a fan of forced love triangles written as the plot and that is not the case here at all. The emotions are written so well that it’s done justice. It’s messy and painful and heartbreaking. As a true love triangle should be. Cece’s character development was strong and she matured so much. It showed in the way she handled situations and navigated relationships.

The plot once again is pretty fast paced and with two books left in the series, I was not expecting things to play out the way they did. But I’m so glad certain plot points weren’t dragged out unnecessarily. It has me really excited to see where the story is going to go from here!

I was provided an ALC and the narrators continue to be very engaging. Emotions are high in this book and the way the female narrator portrays those is especially noteworthy.

Thanks to the author and publisher for the ALC, thoughts are my own.

This book had everything that I wanted from book 1! This was what I was looking for from a Romantasy with a love triangle! I loved the storyline of Cece (FMC) coming to accept herself as she is.

The dynamics between her, Rainer and Xander were so good in this book! Overall, this story is taking a big turn from where I thought it was going to go, but I am here for it!

I almost DNF’d this book at 36% because I was getting annoyed with the meddling gods and their antics and didn’t love where the story was going. But some friends of mine convinced me to keep going and I am so glad that I did!

I was surprised at the ending of this book because again, the story is not going in the direction I thought it was going in. I am equally nervous and excited to read the next installment in this series!

Thank you to Sheila and NetGalley for the opportunity to review this audiobook. Reliving this story via audio was a fantastic experience. Cece is finding her way and changing throughout this book all while discovering new skills. That beach scene, if you know you know, broke me via audio. Be ready with tissues for this one. A must listen for those who have read The Lost God.

I feel as though this was written well and there was a lot of a mix of emotions and the angst was written well. There is no doubt that the author does write well and this was emulated in this book again.

This is my personal opinion and I have to say that I can’t give this book more than 3 stars because this book was so infuriating. Xander became just a subplot to try and strengthen the relationship between Cecelia and Rainer and it felt so pointless. I’m probably so angry because I much prefer Xander to Rainer.

I listened to this as an audiobook and all three narrators were really good narrators and expressive in their reading of the story so that was definitely a strength.

I am going to continue reading because I need to know how this ends.

Thank you to NetGalley for this audiobook.
