It’s so hard to choose one team!! But I was always secretly rooting for team ___ 😉🤭🤫 (IYKYK) but mostly I’m why choose. Because I don’t think she should have to 😉😏. It becomes clear at the 70% mark or so which way she will fall… but then the emotional ringer kicks in and you can’t stop crying for the last 20% of the book.
Everything is better when read by THESE 3 NARRATORS WHAAAAT??!!? I can’t wait to listen to this book over and over again!!
FYI this book felt less spicy than the first, but the themes were more about self discovery and self confidence than about the sexy romance. It was about Cece. Not Cece plus _insert your team here_.
Omg speaking of poor Cece. This book is an exhibit in how one person’s heart can be ripped into tiny pieces because of many lies and manipulation. Be prepared to be hit by the Sheila-bus!
I received this book as an ALC, and this is my honest review.

⭐️5/5 | 🌶️ 3/5 | Witches & Magic | Bargains with Gods | Found Family | Love Triangle | Kingdoms at War | He Falls First & He Falls Harder | Multiple POVs | The Lost God Series Book 2
The narration = I am deceased. It is fantastic! I am emotionally wrecked! Everything I needed and wanted from The Lost God (Book 1) I got here. The intimacy in which she wrote this book was beautifully done with even more character development with our MCs. I loved seeing more of Sylvie, Cal & Evan that gave us a sense of found family. Sheila, I am officially calling you the queen of Love Triangles because this was done so deliciously - I didn’t think it could get any better but here we are... I fell hard for one and then fell even harder for the other! This romance heavy series will suck in you in and rip your heart out multiple times. I swear I held my breath so many times because I couldn’t anticipate where the story was going or when the plot twists were going to hit. There were tears people!
Cece’s journey to finally embracing her newfound powers / abilities is a beautiful journey to watch. I liked that despite how heavy the romance is, it’s still focused on Cece’s growth as an individual. With so much fear, doubt, anger, and confusion; Cece seeks advice from other Gods to help her figure out how to beat Cato as well trying to listen to what her heart truly says as she contemplates on her relationship with Xander and the resurfaced feelings for Rain.
The redemption for Rainer was freaking insanity! I wanted to loathe him in book 1 because of the restraint he had – but he absolutely tore the walls down that no one would stand a chance; I couldn’t get enough! We get the continued pining and the longing from book 1 that you felt it in every word and desperation. I loved the progression of his relationship with Cece & how he handled everything when it came to Xander.
My heart goes out to Xander. With everything he has had to endure, sacrifice and do to protect Cece – you can’t make yourself hate him. I wasn't expecting to have such an emotional response to his relationship with Davide. What he experienced in this book was just cruel, how we still got glimpses of him despite being controlled by Cato was gut-wrenching.
This book was exhilarating to read! The agonizing love triangle that will deliver so much tension, angst, pining, grief and all the feels for us readers that love to be emotionally tortured.

I love that the Memory Curse picks up right where the lost god left off. I hate when books have months or years of gap in the plot! The plot is absolutely amazing. There were so many times that I thought the book was going to go very differently. No spoilers but omg!

I can’t even tell you how much I love this series! I an obsessed with the casting for this book and the narrators did a perfect job on their characters. I’m already obsessed with this series and the audiobook just brought this to life.

Cry count: The entire second half of the book…continuously.
Xan, Rainer, Cece- I cried with and for them all.
There are three different narrators for this book, one for each of our POV’s. I was blown away by how the narrators brought these characters to life. It was absolutely perfect and exactly how I imagined their voices and intonations. Not only did it make it easy listening but it was also soo captivating.
I knew listening to the audiobook of The Memeory Curse as a re-read was going to be hard for me. I’ve said it before, but I’ll say it again, this book and series hurts. But it hurts in a way that keeps you coming back for more. It hurts in a way that you are hurting with your favorite characters and you need to stick it out with them so you can also experience their happiness. It hurts in a way that the characters need for their own growth but also the strength and growth of their relationships. And to me this is what makes Sheila such an amazing author. Her words are so well written that I have this visceral response when I read them.
This series is a must listen for any fantasy romance audiobook lover!

Just as good as the first one! I really appreciated how it built on everything we learnt from the first book, but added unexpected twists and turns. I'm rarely a fan of love triangles, because the choice can so often feel obvious, but here it really got me: the pining! The yearning! A great series with a strong romance.

Listen, this series won the Indieverse award for “Best Love Triangle” this year for a reason!
In The Memory Curse, Sheila pulls on the nostalgia of old love, the thrill of new love, and the heartache of love lost.
The full ensemble cast flawlessly embodies each character, bringing the emotional depth and complexity of this love triangle to life. I could feel Cece, Rainer, and Xander’s vulnerability, strength, and joy. This adaptation brilliantly weaves an unforgettable romance filled with all the yearning, passion, and heartache.
Reliving this story through the audiobook was an absolute treat and I am beyond grateful for the ALC. Huge thanks to the author, Dreamscape media, and NetGalley for the opportunity! This is my honest and voluntary review.

I am so glad that I stuck with this series. All of the pieces from The Lost God that left me feeling uncertain were resolved in a way that added depth to the characters and emboldened their journey. I have to be 100% honest, I was not a huge Xander fan after The Lost God, but the journey his character goes on in this book left me reeling and excited for The Storm King to be released. I also really enjoyed Cecelia’s love story (as can be highlighted from my favorite quote 😉)

Favorite Quote: She was the “happily ever after” to his “once upon a time”
Thank you to the author and Dreamscape media for the advance copy. My opinions are my own.

Tried to read the first book as I was not aware that this was the second in the series. I had to DNF the first book at 55%. The dialouge was too immature for thr characters being in their 20s and it was 90% romance with about 10% plot. There was hardly any world building as it pretty much just centered around the romance which sounded like an episode of high school musical drama with random spice thrown in which was awkward.

To start, this narration was very well done I especially appreciated the different narrator for the male voices
Wow! This sequel to the Lost God was so good! This story built on what we learned in the first book and really flipped the switch on everything we had learned. There is a deception, big reveals and lots of pining from Xander and Rainer! This story is my favorite kind of love triangle trope. I the one where you love both guys and cannot figure out what is the right pick for her. I cannot wait to read the next book and see how the journey continues for our three characters.

the craziness that is this book is something else! so many things happen and i just can't keep up (in a good way). i love this series and i will never stop talking about it. so if you haven't read it, you should!!!

The Memory Curse picks up where The Lost God ended. Events at the end if that book must now be dealt with and moved on from. A lot of these things were an absolute doozy, so moving on is easier said than done.
This book was a ride for me. I continue to struggle with who Cecilia should end up with. I'm not sure I've ever struggled with making this choice so much! I care about both MMCs, and that is really not usually the case for me in love triangle situations. Sheila puts the characters and us through it in the 3rd act. So much so that I almost cried on an airplane while reading and books RARELY make me cry.
I am super excited to see where things go within this world (and want to give all of the characters a big hug).
I loved the audio narration so much! Having a narrator for each of the big three characters is the perfect choice for this story, where all three are so important. The emotion they bring to the story is top-notch. The narrators all speak clearly, and I was able to speed it up without issue
Thanks to Sheila, Dreamscape Media, and NetGalley for an ALC of this audiobook for an honest review.
