Blood Moon is a fast paced suspense thriller with a bit of spicy romance mixed in. It kept me interested and entertained.
I would recommend for fans of the genre.
Narration by Kyf Brewer was well done.

Revisiting a case that he believes was mishandled is not at the top of John Bowie's to do list and as such is actively avoiding the senior producer of a true crime show that is very keen to make contact.
Beth Collins has a new theory regarding more than one missing girl and an overlooked link that could, if properly investigated, be the key to finding the person responsible...if only John Bowie would help!
This Sandra Brown novel will capture your attention from the first page to the last. There are characters you will love and others that you'll hate, as John and Beth work tirelessly to unravel this unsolved mystery.
The mystery, intrigue and the little bit of romance will keep you perching on the edge of your seat as Bowie (like the knife) and Collins look under every stone in their quest.
It's been a long time since I read a Sandra Brown novel but it won't be long until I delve into more of her work, especially if u meet more characters like those featured in Blood Moon.

"Blood Moon" by Sandra Brown is a spicy thriller and a murder mystery.
I read this on the night of the actual blood moon. I liked it. It has a few spicy bits 🌶🌶.
Beth Collins is a producer on a cold cases tv show. They are about to air a show about the disappearance of a young woman on the last blood moon about 3 years ago. She travels to Louisiana, where the disappearance happened to try to get more information. The girl was never found, and the kidnapper was not caught.
John Bowie was the lead investigator on the case. He was unhappy with how the case had been handled in the past. Beth shows up and tells him that she thinks it is going to happen again because another blood moon is about to occur. She thinks the monster has been doing this awhile on the blood moon dates. John discredits this idea at first, but he is very attracted to Beth.
Kyf Brewer was the narrator of this 12 hour audiobook, and they did a great job with the voices!

This is a very good, fast-paced, and well written thriller, and I highly recommend it for thriller lovers!
Thank you to Netgalley, Hachette Audio, Grand Central Publishing, and Sandra Brown for providing this audiobook in exchange for my honest review.

A twisted convoluted story of murder, police corruption, kidnapping, people who have just disappeared off the face of the earth and a true crime show that may have gotten it completely wrong. John Bowie has a lot going on that is weighing on his mind. When Beth Collins comes to town with questions about the documentary that was produced by the company she works for and was a senior producer on things take a turn for the macabre. There is a mix of the obvious and the surprising, which makes for a good and compelling read/listen. I personally didn’t find the chemistry between John and Bowie felt true, but that is just me and it did not in any way take away from the outcome.

Blood Moon AUDIO by Sandra Brown is an intriguing investigation by fired police detective John Bowie and Beth Collins, assistant producer of a TV show, Crisis Point, which is in the process of finalizing a show on the missing, presumed murdered, Chrissy Mellin. They are an intimidating team which finally solves the case and prevents another murder. Bowie is an excellent detective but has few to no diplomacy skills and has pushed his lieutenant to the breaking point by questioning this investigation. Rudely. True, the man runs the department as his own personal fiefdom, including having an enforcer: another officer. John is divorced and has a teenage daughter who is too much like him and tends to run her mouth and take off when things aren’t going her way. Beth is after an Emmy for her mentor, who is retiring, but she is interested in justice and knows what they have doesn’t hold water. They start with facts but quickly adopt theories, some of them a little on the ridiculous side. John is able to connect with several other departments in the area who have similar crimes to solve. The solution turns out to be more bizarre than one could have imagined.
This is my first Sandra Brown novel and I really enjoyed it. The two kept my on my toes and did a good job connecting seemingly disparate facts, which is a necessary component to solving a mystery. Both the solution to the crime and the conclusion of the book were satisfying without being too hard to handle. The characters were well-written with distinct personalities and uncovered their stories to one another as the story progresses. The crime was an excellent one, although as most, depraved. The pacing was good, and the theme of justice can never be underplayed. The story was eminently listenable.
Kyf Brewer is the performer, a voice listeners will recognize from many Baldacci novels, as well as other crime thrillers. He is the perfect voice for John Bowie and handles the other characters nicely, as well. Excellent performance of a good book.
I was invited to listen to Blood Moon by Hachette Audio. All thoughts and opinions are mine. #Netgalley #HachetteAudio #KyfBrewer #SandraBrown #BloodMoon

This was good. It included a twist or two that took me by surprise. I had a good time reading it. I liked that it took a beat to like the main male character

Loaded with action, suspense and romance Sandra Brown delivers a page turning thriller that keeps her fans wanting more. This story finds a grumpy detective, John and a persistent tv producer, Beth working together to solve an old case of John’s. Beth has some unconventional ideas about the case and John is still in hot water over his comments about the case and is a step away from getting fired. There are lots of people that do not want the pair digging up the past and someone will stop at nothing to insure that the case is not reopened. This leaves Beth and John in danger as well as on their own as they try to unravel the mystery surrounding a young women's disappearance.
The action starts from page one and gets even more intense as the story progresses. A little cheesy at times but still a lot of fun, this is Sandra Brown at her best.

Thanks to NetGalley for the advanced audiobook in exchange for an honest review. The narration was done well and made the story even better.

Sandra Brown’s Blood Moon is a suspense thriller where a TV producer and a police detective must fight their growing attraction while racing against the clock to stop another woman from disappearing. Beth Collins has travelled to Louisiana to meet with Detective John Bowie to convince him that a case he worked on three years ago was not an isolated incident as well that the perpetrator would strike again. John is reluctant to assist as the prior unsolved case has troubled him and has gone past the breaking point. Bowie knew the case was not handled properly and the guilt had been eating away and causing negative impacts within his career and personal life. As Beth continues to be persistent, Bowie’s sense of loyalty and morality will not let him rest and he agrees to delve back into the case.
Mrs. Brown did a great job with character development and the storyline. The story flowed and the cast of characters were strategically placed in the storyline at the appropriate time. Readers will take instant liking to some and will immediately dislike several characters throughout this story. Beth’s ambition is evident but, readers also see the compassion and admiration she displays. Readers learn more about Bowie’s characteristics and actions and will rejoice during several scenes as his emotions are evident. Mrs. Brown also does a great job with the storyline, the flow and the research and tie in of lunar eclipse and some of the craziness that can occur. Overall, I enjoyed this read
Note: I received an advance copy from Netgalley

I only started reading Sandra Brown a couple of years ago and blew through her backlist pretty quickly in audio. Kyf Brewer is one of my favorites of her narrators and this one is no exception. His voice is getting a little raspier so it's not as much of a Kevin Bacon sound alike as it used to be but he's still very good and I appreciate his ability to let me sleep nk into the story. The book itself is a solid entry into the Sandra Brown Canon and I enjoyed the location in Louisiana. Overall a new favorite!

REVIEW
BLOOD MOON is a mystery and thriller with a steamy hot romance. The story is meticulously constructed and suspenseful from start to finish. Author Sandra Brown's writing is intense, intriguing, and full of vivid detail and descriptions.
All the characters are well-developed. I particularly like John’s careful personality, his aggressive attitude, his dedication to his daughter, and his moral dilemmas regarding the past handling of Crissy’s case. I appreciated the development of his relationship with Beth. The book has several other unique characters; while you may not like some of them, the character development is impressive.
I listened to the audiobook and loved the performance by the narrator, Kyf Brewer. Brewer did a nice job with voice, tone, and pacing. His voice made the story seem very real, and I was captivated from the start.
Thanks to Netgalley for an advanced reading copy of this audiobook. All opinions in this review are my own.

Crisis Point, a popular true crime TV show is about to air an episode on the case of Crissy Mellin, a girl who went missing three years earlier and was never found. Beth Collins, a producer for the show, thinks Crissy is only one of several women taken and that the perpetrator is motivated by the Blood Moon, which is set to reappear in four days. Beth flies to Louisianna to meet with John Bowie, one of the detectives on the case, and see if she can prevent the next abduction.
John isn’t too thrilled with Beth at first, but he’s been haunted by Crissy’s case and the incidents that happened around it. With the spotlight on the case again, John’s corrupt boss warns him to keep his mouth shut on the matter, but John doesn’t want another girl to suffer the same fate and so he reluctantly works with Beth. There’s an attraction brewing between them from the start!
I’ve enjoyed Sandra Brown’s twisty mysteries for some time now, so I was excited to pick up Blood Moon. Romance and suspense combined in just the right amounts to make for a thrilling read! Fast-paced, short chapters hooked me from the start! Both Beth and John had to work against their respective bosses. Beth is trying to put the brakes on the show airing because of the discrepancies they discover, but John’s boss and henchmen held more of an urgent threat! I listened, riveted until the end!
Kyf Brewer did an excellent job narrating the story! His rough, masculine voice was perfect for John and I liked his performance of Beth’s voice, as well! His narration definitely enhanced my enjoyment of the story!

the setup…
Auclair Police Department Detective John Bowie is haunted by his last case and is suffering personally and professionally. He’s a divorced father of teen daughter Molly who he lost custody of recently. The investigation of missing teen Crissy Mellin ended three years ago but he has serious issues regarding the resolution. Now the true crime show Crisis Point is ready to air an episode documenting the unsolved case. Senior producer Beth Collins is convinced that there’s more to the story and uses her personal time to come to coastal Louisiana and confront the one man who expressed his dissatisfaction with the case and refused to be interviewed for the segment. She’s got an interesting theory…that this case and others may be tied to blood moon eclipses.
the heart of the story…
John Bowie is what you’d think of as a hard-boiled, seasoned detective. He’s hanging on to his job by his fingernails as Tom Barker, the man in charge of the detective unit, is corrupt, inept and looking for an excuse to get rid of him. When Beth confronts him with her theory, while skeptical, John looks into it and sees that there just might be something there. But Barker and his dangerous henchman are determined to thwart any effort to further examine the case. John and Beth embark on a treacherous path to explore the theory, flying under the radar and using sometimes unconventional but effective methods. At the same time, their personal attraction to each other is hard to ignore.
the narration…
I’m a big fan of Kyf Brewer and not only was his storytelling skills superb but he absolutely nailed John Bowie (pronounced like the knife). It was a wonderful listening experience.
the bottom line…
In addition to a compelling mystery, the strong sense of setting made me feel as if I was inside the story deep in bayou country. I didn’t know much about blood moon eclipses so that was an interesting element. The shocking twist at the end capped off a very satisfying story with a romantic element. I enjoyed every minute.

Wow fantastic book! Great thriller that will keep you on the edge & wanting more. I couldn't put it down! You will be cheering on the Detective. Sandra Brown did another great book!
Thank you NetGalley!

This was a slight change of book for Sandra but I loved it! I flew through it. several young women in different towns have gone missing throughout several years. TV producer, Beth contacts Detective John Bowie when she thinks the disappearances can be connected. Can they figure it out, find the abductor while fighting the intense spark between them?
Kyf Brewer did a fantastic job narrating all the characters.

I have been reading Sandra Brown for a long time but this was the first time I experienced her storytelling via audiobook. This was told by a perfect voice for the type of story told. The mystery was told in a way that was interwoven with a romance which I enjoyed. The level of detail helped to develop an intricate plot and develop a wide cast of characters. This audiobook will entertain you for 12 hours and 15 minutes.
Thank you Net Galley, Sandra Brown and Hachette Audio for the opportunity to preview this title and the opinions shared are my own.
This audiobook is now available.

I enjoyed Blood Moon, as I do with all Sandra Brown's books. She tells a good story and always throws in something you weren't expecting.

I honestly wasn't sure about this story at first, but after a short time, I was completely hooked. I listened to this in one day. I haven't listened to a Sandra Brown book in a long time, and I've been missing out. She writes a darn good, interesting story. Beth is a tv show producer for a show that investigates true crime cases. John Bowie is a detective that has investigated several missing person's cases. Beth was strong willed and very likable. Bowie took a little bit for me to get used to, but I grew to like him. Beth and Bowie had great chemistry. This story had a little bit of everything. Mystery. Romance. Twists. I thought the narrator did a great job bringing this story to life. Huge thanks to Hachette audio and Netgalley for allowing me to listen and review this story. All opinions are my own.

I’m a long-time Sandra Brown reader and listener, so this one was a must for me. Her books have evolved into sexy suspense, and that description fits Blood Moon. The setting is Louisiana, and Detective John Bowie is working on a cold case, the abduction of Chrissy Mellin more than three years ago. Beth Collins is a producer of Crisis Point, a true crime television series, and she’s in town because she believes there’s more story to tell about this case, and also others resembling it. John and Beth join their efforts to try to figure it all out. Beth believes she’s found a common thread that ties seemingly random abductions together.
This one did not disappoint! I switched back and forth between the book and the audiobook. The narrator did an excellent job, and the simmering (and soon more than that) love story was just icing on the cake. John and Beth are working together from almost the beginning of the story, and the scenes including them both became highlights.
The story resolved in a satisfying way, and I always look forward to the next Sandra Brown book!
I received a copy of the digital ARC and ALC via NetGalley. My review is voluntary.
Four stars ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️!

Blood Moon by Sandra Brown
Thriller, police procedural and romantic suspense.
Detective John Bowie can’t forget the investigation of missing Crissy Mellin from more than three years ago. The case remains open and unsolved and he knows a true crime television show will soon run the story. John believes his boss mishandled evidence and killed an innocent man. But he can’t do more than work on other cases hoping the killer is long gone. Even if he knows better.
Beth Collins is a producer on the true crime show and she believes the story telling the case of Crissy Mellin is not complete and that there are more missing teenage girls connected to each night of a blood moon. She enlists John Bowie’s help to find the true culprit before another girl goes missing during the next blood moon, which is only four days away.
🎧 I listened to a audiobook version narrated by Kyf Brewer. The performance is compelling with emotions of anger, worry, and a disturbing lack of emotion in passages from the killer. The story moves quickly so pay attention to chapter changes which may include a POV switch.
I listened to the audiobook at 1.5 and 1.6 to more closely match my reading and conversation speed.
Enthralling and fast paced. A mystery that keeps you reading and unexpected twists. The epilogue adds depth and intrigue.
I received a copy from NetGalley and publisher Hachette Audio.

Thank you, Net Galley for the advanced audio of BLOOD MOON by Sandra Brown. I have read the majority of Sandra Brown's thriller/romance novels. While it still had the bad boy/good girl theme of her other romantic suspense novels, it still has some surprises. I looked forward to finding out why the detective had such a bad-boy reputation and how the female character was going to resolve her dilemma. The initial chapter had me hooked and I anxiously listened to find out what was going to happen next. The narration kept me interest and was well-done.
