Sandra Brown has been one of my go to authors since the 90s for her romance novels. I was skeptical at first when she moved to suspense but with every book it keeps getting better. This book is no exception. Beth is a producer for a popular true crime TV series. They covered the disappearance of teenage Crissy Mellins and her alleged attacker. But Beth thinks they got the wrong guy and is determined to bring her theory to the only detective in the case that had doubts. John Bowie never liked how Crissy's case was handled and it's haunted him ever since. But reopening the case or even being seen talking to Beth could lose him his job and put both their lives in danger.
I liked reading the character development in this book with John from bitter disillusioned cop to a man willing to fight for justice at all costs. There was plenty of action and twists to the story and even some spicy romance. I listened to the audiobook version of the book and I really enjoyed the narrator's smooth tone and his voice was easy to listen to.

It's been ages since I first read my first Sandra Brown novel. I was 12 or 13 at the time and got my hands on one of my mum's books and what can I say? Romantic suspense was a revelation for me back then. Does it hold up to that first nők! In a nostalgic kind of way, it does. She's still got it.

I have read all of Sandra Brown novels and this one did not dissapoint. Great plot, suspense and character development. Sandra Brown is one of the greats. Audiobook performance did not dissapoint either.

Sandra Brown has done it again with a romantic suspense-filled novel that is "Blood Moon". She is always a go-to author and this reader did a great job bringing this book to life.

Oh how I love a good Sandra Brown Romantic Suspense book. This book captured and held my interest from the first to last page. It had twists and turns that I was not expecting. I had this book in an audiobook format and the narrator had a great voice. This is a book that you will want to have lots of time for because once you start you will not be able to put it down.

Detective John Bowie has been hanging on for years after the case of missing teenage girl Crissy Mellin has gone cold. Crisis Point, a true crime documentary, is running a series on the unsolved case. Beth is the producer for Crisis Point and she knows that the chance to catch the suspect is coming as Crissy and other missing teenager cases have one thing in common – they are committed on the night of the blood moon. And one of those nights is coming up shortly.

Lots of tension, fast paced, I really like Beth. This is a good one! RECOMMEND

Sandra Brown is the premier spicy thriller author. Set in swampy sultry Louisiana, police detective John Bowie, and tv producer Beth Collins are brought together to investigate a cold case that revolves around the Blood Moon. The chemistry between these two is like moths drawn to a bright flame. Multiple missing girls, a wrongfully arrested guy, crooked cops, and lunar fanatics all make this book work.

I listened to the audiobook, the narrator Kyf Brewer, does an outstanding job creating the atmosphere of this book.

I’ve been a fan of Sandra Brown’s books for over 15 years, and in the last five years, I’ve been equally captivated by her audiobooks. Her romantic suspense novels are always a great escape, and Blood Moon is a perfect example of why I keep coming back for more.

One of the things I loved most about Blood Moon was how the hero and heroine worked together almost from the beginning. This dynamic allowed them to build a natural connection, making their relationship and later their sexual chemistry feel more realistic. It wasn’t rushed; their bond grew organically, which made it all the more satisfying.

The mystery and crime aspect was equally engaging, keeping me hooked like a well-executed crime podcast. I loved the way they unraveled a solved case, and the twist at the end was just right— unexpected yet fitting. The epilogue was a nice touch, providing a satisfying and complete ending.

In true Sandra Brown style, Blood Moon delivered all the right ingredients: a broody, grumpy hero, a strong, feisty heroine, an age gap, and tons of attraction. It's a great starting point for anyone new to her work and will not disappoint long-time fans. The audiobook was expertly narrated and kept me captivated from start to finish. I usually don’t need more than a few days to get through her books, and this one was no exception—it was fast-paced, engaging, and overall an enjoyable listen.

Sandra Brown writes such a boldly unique genre; her thrillers will hook you quickly: they are intense and dark and raw; but the thriller plot usually moves against the storyline of a budding love story that leads to graphic sex scenes that you don't usually find in thrillers... it makes for such a bold contrast in the story but it blends just as seamlessly as can be.

BLOOD MOON is no exception; Brown tackles kidnapping, a true crime television show, shoddy police work, a rogue police officer, strange scientific theories about murder, and so much more in this novel. It has a lot going on but it's beyond page turning and I couldn't put it down. She's always going to be a favorite of mine!

A race against the next blood moon has Beth Collins, a senior producer on Crisis Point, a true crime documentary, travels to Louisiana to meet with Detective John Bowie for an interview in hopes it will help her solve a new angle that she is working on. This book was a whirlwind and I was on the edge of my seat. Detective John is a mysterious and quiet detective that is reluctant to help. I really enjoyed the both of them together and felt like they make a good team. There is a romance to the subplot but I don’t think it distracts from the main plot. The narrator, Kyf Brewer did a good job portraying Beth, and John. I was engaged till the very end.

I could not stop this book! I started the audiobook version and was done in under 24 hours. John Bowie is a detective who's last three years have been rough, all sense the disappearance of a local girl and the promotion of his nemesis. Beth Collins, a producer on a true crime television show has been working on an episode dedicated to the missing girl and is trying to get an interview with John, mainly because she has figured out why the local girl, Crissy, went missing and fears that it will happen again. After the first meeting things kick off fast, and it is a race to find out what happened to Crissy and prevent it from happening again. I really liked the mystery and all the twists. The narrator does a fantastic job.

This thriller features Detective Bowie, who teams up with Beth Collins to solve the mysterious deaths of women that coincide with the blood moon. Fans of Michael Connelly’s "Lincoln Lawyer" series and his other works will likely find this book appealing.

"Blood Moon" is well-constructed, guiding readers through a labyrinth of twists and turns. While I thoroughly enjoyed the beginning and end of the book, there were stretches in the middle that felt somewhat prolonged. Despite these slower parts, the book was overall a compelling and enjoyable read.

Embittered Detective John Bowie and ambitious TV producer Beth Collins are on a race against the clock to solve a mystery and prevent another incident from happening. Along the way things heat up between the two. They also learn things are not as they seem.

The setting was atmospheric enough to make me feel the humidity! I loved the story and how it slowly untangled bit by bit. The chemistry was undeniable and plenty of spice. I enjoyed it and look forward to more!

This was my first time listening to a Sandra Brown title and was curious to experience one of her novels. As far as the quality of writing and audio presentation, both were excellent. Unfortunately, I was not fond of the setting and characters in the story. As a result, I did not finish the audiobook.

I aspired to, and eventually did work in TV news for many years, and Sandra Brown was always one of my favorite authors at that time because her main characters are usually TV producers. As I moved away from a life in journalism, I stopped reading Brown’s books. Recently, I was given the opportunity to preview an upcoming release from Sandra Brown called Blood Moon. I jumped at the chance!

First impressions: there’s a lot going on in this book, from kidnapping and murder to being wrongfully incarcerated because of police corruption. And something I didn’t remember from Brown’s books from 30 years ago, NSFW content! I don’t remember Brown’s books being so–spicy. That’s not a bad thing if you’re into that kind of book, but I listen to audiobooks at work, so it was a little awkward! That said, I did like the romance between Beth and John and thought it very realistic.

This book is packed full of tension and suspense, just like I remember Brown’s books. I thought the subject of police corruption was interesting and on-point instead of always having the cops be the good guys. But make no mistake, the good guys do win in this book, it’s just that the path to get there is fraught with difficulties.

Narrated by Kyf Brewer, I enjoyed the audio narration for the most part. I do think that for books with a male narrator, in general they have a hard time getting the women’s characterizations right. Sometimes, and part of this was due to the way Brown wrote, I had a hard time distinguishing who was talking, John or Beth. But overall, he did a good job.

I would definitely read another Sandra Brown book again, and I’m glad I had the opportunity to revisit one of my favorite authors from the past.
