My son and I loved this book. It was funny but also informative and since he wantes to be a space scientist one day this book really spoke to him. He loved reading it again and again. I liked how accessable it was with the information being given. A great addition to any space unit or explorers shelf.

This is a fun story that will really help get children’s imaginations going. The illustrations are fun and a bit silly, in a good way. I think lots of families will enjoy this book.

Not really the style of book that I enjoy reading to my kid. There was no real cadence and that plays a big part for me. However, my son did enjoy it, especially because it mentioned poop and was about space. These are the core tenants of his personality right now so it ticked the right boxes for him. Probably not one I would have bought for him off the shelf though.

Not much to the story. Not much to the artwork. Didn't connect to the characters. Didn't find any of the situations believable or engaging.

I'm crying... It's happy tears - Flyn got to visit space!

I love the pop-y illustrations!

Flyn's wandering mind help him realize his passion and as someone with ADHD I can relate! It's hard to pay attention sometimes but it doesn't mean our daydreams are useless!

The Fly Who Flew to Space is a children's picture book for ages 3-7. A young fly wanders around a space base, and accidently gets roped into a rocket launch. With themes of appreciating the splendor of our planet and following our dreams, and ADHD representation, this book is a wholesome story. I think it is a great addition to the library of any child passionate about environmentalism, space, or becoming an astronaut. One thing I would like to highlight is the fly experiences g-force on the return trip. This is not scientifically accurate. G-force would actually be experienced on the rocket's earlier trip exiting the atmosphere.

The illsutrations are quite lovely, capturing the landscape of west Texas, and the cartoon zaniness of the various fly characters. I really loved the spread on the final page, as it fit very well with the text and the story, and is an excellent final note. One issue I had with the illustrations was the difference in style between the scenic and background art, and the character out. It felt as though two seperate artists illustrated this book, instead of one, and I wish the art style was more cohesive and consistent.

The story is adorable, as are the illustrations, but the billionaire cameo and love towards Blue Origin felt really weird and took away enjoyment from the story. The fly even has the Blue Origin logo on it's uniform at the end of the story.

The Fly Who Flew to Space is an absolute treat! Its fun approach allows kids to relate to the Flynn, recognizing where he's from and the daily activities he does, while also having an adventure element to make normal, boring days vibrant and exciting. The illustrations are dynamic and inviting for kids encouraging them to use their imaginations to go on a space adventure of their own. The wide expanse of the universe is explored in an approachable way that'll definitely leave kids wanting to learn more about all the features space has to offer.

Well this was a very random and ridiculous story with illustrations that did nothing to help.

I question this being a New York Times Best Seller..

Thank-you NetGalley, The Collective Book Studio and Lauren for this Digital Advanced Readers Copy, in exchange for an honest review.

The Fly Who Flew to Space (with removable glow-in-the-dark poster) is a cute adventure story about having dreams. Perfect for 3-6 year-olds. The graphics are good, the writing is perfect for the audience, and the story introduces a few "technical" terms and world wonders without needing to go into detail.

This review was written in exchange for an eARC copy from NetGalley.

I would like to express my gratitude to Lauren Sanchez, The Collective Book Studio, and Netgalley for the opportunity to read the Digital Reader Copy of this text. Unfortunately, it wasn’t for me.

Being an astronaut is such aa common childhood dream so I was interested to see how one little fly would realise this dream for kids across the globe. However, upon opening the book, I was struck by how dull and dark the illustrations were. They were not inviting in the least. I also thought they were overly detailed and at times, a bit grown up for the target audience. Then there were a few that were just boring and didn’t compliment the text as well as it could have done.

I felt the story was very random. We went from fly struggling at school, to hanging out at the stables, to accidently getting trapped on a rocket to space, to meeting the rest of the fly’s family in space. It was just odd, and I found it hard to find any message in the book. Arguably, it is a children’s book and it’s perfectly ok to be a book purely for entertainment’s sake, but I couldn’t envision the fun and the awe with this text. I found myself getting bored quite quickly and it’s only a short text. It certainly isn’t a book I would want to see in my child’s library as I couldn’t bring myself to read it repeatedly.

A fly dreams of being more than a fly, he dreams of being an astronaut. He accidentally gets sent to space and learns what it is like to be a real astronaut.

I read this with my 1st grade son. He was really interested in the topics of space and the life of a fly. He laughed at a couple of the jokes. The illustrations were very cute. I think this would please a wide variety of young readers.

This is an adorable picture book about a Texan fly named Flynn. Flynn wants to be an astronaut. he sneaks off to visit a rocket ship nearby and gets trapped inside. Here is where the adventure begins. From space Flynn enjoys an out of this world perspective of Earth's most cherished iconic places like New York City's Staute of Liberty, and Paris' Eiffel Tower to name a few. Flynn learns about gravity and G-force from the astronaut on board. This is a educational and feel good story for the little ones.
