This was a great read. Author did a great job with the world building. I enjoyed seeing how they all conquered at the end
A great continuation of a series that I really enjoy.
Having watched most of the TV series, I'm enjoying the books a lot more.
Fast paced and throughly enjoyable. I'm a big fan of this series.
I received this free eARC novel from NetGalley. This is my honest review.
This has been on my TBR pile for so long, and I'm glad I finally got around to it. I really enjoyed the storyline and seeing the characters change throughout the story was a great character development. The plot was great and kept my attention. I'm glad I got the chance to read this and will be on the lookout for more in the future!
I think this is the only time I've found that I enjoyed the tv show better than the book. I couldn't finish this book and it just felt lacking.
I got accepted to review this book years ago, but unfortunately never got around to reading it. Apologies for this.
Didn't finish book 1 and don't think I ever will so have unhauled my physical copies of the series and dbf's permanently.
This is one of the rare instances where the tv show was better than the book. I feel like the book was lacking the pace set in the tv series and I was left feeling like I wanted more action.
I guess I am one of not many people who read The 100 and Day 21 without seeing the TV show which I think was my advantage. I could focus on the story without comparing it to the Tv show, I could focus on the characters and not thinking about which one is or isn't in the tv series and so on.
As far as the story is concerned I actually liked it more than the first book, because it had some nice plot twist and there were moment that left me schocked. Of course, the story stands on Bellamy and Clarke, at least in my opinion. Those two were the most interesting characters out of all of them and I personally liked them the best and rooted for them since the first book. The problem is that I couldn't connect with the others characters, I didn't really care about their storylines or about their future in the story.
Speaking of characters, there was awfully lot of kissing. I feel like the author took every opportunity for the characters to kiss, even in some situations where I was confused, why they don't focus on more important things. But then again it might be because she wanted to appeal to younger audience.
With that being said, I think it's nice scifi/dystopian young adult novel to read, it was quick and not very long, without boring parts because I felt like something was always happening. I would recommend it to everyone who hasn't seen the tw show otherwise you will compare a lot.
I received this book free from Netgalley for an honest review.
Sorry I didn’t realize that this was book two in the series. I do not have book one so I will not be able to review this for you.
You know how they say "the book was better"? Well in this case, for me, not it isn't. I really liked the show so I thought I would like the book, well that was a big fat no. The book shouldve had more details.
I was bitterly disappointed by this book as a fan of The 100. It felt very forced and the characters seemed unlikeable
Since I wasn't able to finish reading the first book in the series, I also find that I have to mark this book as a "Did not finish". This is definitely a me situation, and others may have a better time with the book than I did.
The show is better than the book. The characters are much stronger and much more interesting on TV. This isn't an improvement from the first book at all.
The same issues I had with the first book continue into this one. At this point, it feels more fanfiction than source material.
DNF - While a fun series, the writing just didn't engage me enough.
This series is getting stronger and more developed as it continues, and it leaves me very excited to see where it goes! It is not completely original, but is presented in a way that makes it engaging and enjoyable in its own taste.
Not being a young adult, although I did rather enjoy The Hunger Games, I was unable to fully appreciate this one I'm afraid.
I wanted to read this book as I had seen the series.
I didn't feel Clarke came over very well in this one, bit quick jumping in. I had high hopes for the series but it doesn't really live up to expectations.
What a deliciously written, skillfully paced novel! Readers are blessed with many leads that are absolutely beyond compelling and the plot sticks with you even after you're finished. Looking forward to the next books.
as a big fan of the 100 i have to say this was a great read. i loved being able to see different sides to the story of the 100 -- the show veers away from the books and it was awesome be able to compare and contrast!
