Although I enjoyed the premise behind Dunnett's 'A Line You Have Traced', and the author's use of language is emotionally rich and immersive, I felt a strong disconnect between the three story lines, and struggled to keep hold of the proverbial thread linking the three women together. All in all, a beautiful read with fantastic transitions between historical periods, but I just wish it was more cohesive in its execution.

I enjoyed the writing, although I am having a disconnection with the plot line, that being said, each chapter is a beautifully written piece.

A Line You Have Traced unfortunately was not to my liking. The premise sounded fascinating, a mysterious red book that connects three generations of women. However the story was too abstract for me, with the purpose of the red book lost within the strange stories of women that did not capture my attention.

I can appreciate an unusual speculative fiction story, but the plot of this book was too bizarre in a way that left me disappointed.
