Adriana puts on a bracelet that was accidentally sent to her room. When who it belongs to approaches her, she’s unable to take it off and is whisked away on an adventure to look for hidden archeological treasure. Her brother tags along for added ‘security’.

Dr. Jones just wants to make his archeological find before it ends up in the wrong hands. Little does he know he’ll have to travel with a seemingly spoiled snoot of a woman b/c the bracelet, that is meant to guide him and unlock certain things, is now stuck on her wrist.

If you’re looking for a romance that includes a brother sister duo vibe from Schitt’s Creek, you might like this one.

The premise of this book intrigued me. It seemed to have The Mummy Returns vibe in a romance novel. Unfortunately, that was not the case & I could not stand Adriana. She’s spoiled, whiney, & basically has no character growth. Towards the end she thinks about punching someone in the boob. She’s also wildly against love and happily ever after that when we get to the end, she instantaneously has a change of heart. I found her choices and attitude very juvenile & frustrating. The treasure hunt was more like National Treasure rather than an archeological dig. Come to think about it, I don’t remember any digging at all.

The most redeeming qualities was the brother William, he was a delight and always kept it real around his sister. I appreciated their back story, I just wish it weren’t so repetitive. And Andrew was also fun. He kept a lot of patience around both William and Adriana.

Thank you so NetGalley, the author, & publisher for an eARC.

I really really really tried but this was just not at all gripping and I kept waiting for it to suddenly get me hooked even when we were in the throes of adventuring and it just didn’t. Time of DNF: 35%

I very well may return because I kept trying to give it a chance but for now…I gotta put me first, I’m sorry

Thank you so much to Netgalley and HarperCollinsUK for this ARC to review!

I love an adventure, and I love a romcom, but this one wasn't it for me. Alas, I did not dig this.

Things I loved:
1) The location! Jackson did a wonderful job of describing the lush jungle, the food, the resorts, and little things that make Colombia special.
2) The meet disaster. It was very fun. (Though part of me wished that Adriana was also a doctor so it could be even more confusion and shenanigans)
3) The way the adventure unfolded. The inclusion of villains were fun too.

Things I did not love:
1) Adriana as a character. I'll save y'all the rant.
2) The fact that William was super stereotypical.
3) The way that the spice overtook the final act and completely distracted from the adventure.
4) The random definitions? It felt super out of place.

Thank you to NetGalley and One More Chapter for an eARC in exchange for my honest review.

Digging Dr. Jones is a delightful, fast-paced adventure that combines romance, humor, and a dash of treasure-hunting excitement. Olivia Jackson delivers a story that’s equal parts charming and thrilling, with a premise that hooks you from the very first page. When Adriana Jones accidentally ends up with a magical bracelet meant for the dashing archaeologist Andrew Jones, she’s thrust into an unexpected jungle adventure that’s far from her vacation plans—but might just be the best thing that’s ever happened to her.

What makes this book truly special is the way it blends romance and adventure so seamlessly. Adriana and Andrew’s journey is not just about finding treasure—it’s about discovering themselves and each other. The ending is satisfying and heartwarming, tying up all the loose ends in a way that leaves you smiling.

Digging Dr. Jones is a fun, spicy, and utterly addictive read that’s perfect for fans of romantic adventures with a touch of magic. Olivia Jackson has crafted a story that’s as entertaining as it is heartfelt, and I can’t wait to see what she writes next! Highly recommended for anyone looking for a lighthearted yet thrilling escape.

I want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart to the author, the publisher and Netgalley for allowing me the privilege of being able to read this book!

This was everything! There was a real plot, great characters (the fmc comes off a little snobby but I can get why she might be that way), good chemistry through all, and above all an adventure! An extremely well thought out adventure, that lived up to its premise and more! Was the plot, probably extremely unlikely to happen in real life? Yes but I didn't care one bit! Why? Because everything was well thought out, cute, exciting and nail-biting! I felt like I was watching a movie the whole time I was reading. Well there are movie references all throughout it, It reminded me the most of 'The Lost City' but sooo much better!

My only real negative was the ending. Don't get me wrong that ending was adorable, but I really didn't want their adventures to end! I really thought I'd get a lead up to a potential sequel with another adventure mentioned but it wasn't there and that one was glossed over it kind of broke my heart. I would love for this to be a series of them going on adventures together. The adventure solving was my favourite part of the whole book and I really didn't want them to end! I think the author totally would have been able to pull off a series with these characters! So well I'm sad about that I still did like the ending.

Thank you so very much from the bottom of heart from letting me read this book, I really loved it and I really hope it gets picked up to be a movie, it would be incredible!

Harrison Ford and Indiana Jones are my longtime faves, so when I saw this title I was hoping for those vibes. This book delivered in a big way. The story is flirty and fun and I was entertained the entire time reading it. Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC.

Thank you NetGalley and HarperCollinsUK + One More Chapter for this ARC!

This was a great palate cleanser. Cute romance, action-packed, bit of spice and an intriguing treasure-hunting plot which kept me hooked, as well as a handful of sweet and swoony moments (THE PICNIC OMG). Surprisingly, I was actually drawn more towards the whole treasure-hunting aspect than the romance in this book - the scenes were written beautifully and I could see it like a movie in my head whilst reading.

Things did get a bit messy and skimmed over near the end but it was still a good and fun book regardless. I just wished there was more fleshed out characters and angst/tension in the romance - especially at the climax of the book. Also near the end, it became quite higher stakes and life-and-death than I expected which sort of threw me off.

I personally would not read this again (due to my infinite TBR pile) however I would read Olivia Jackson's future books and would recommend others to read this one if you're in the mood for a light and fast-paced action romance with Indiana Jones/The Mummy/National Treasure vibes.

Overall rating: 3.75/5

This was adorable and funny. I love Indiana Jones, and this was a great story inspired/ode to Indi. Was it a little silly and farfetched? Absolutely. But so is Indi, that's the charm of it.

I would say it felt like a slow burn at the start, but they got together like 50% of the way through, and then it ramped up rapidly, and they were in love in 2 weeks, after a lot of life and death moments. So it doesn't quite qualify for slowburn in my book.
The smut was sweet and a little spicy, but you could just as easily not read those parts and enjoy the story just as much.

The addition of William, the brother, reminded me so much of the movie Jungle Cruise.

I loved how smart and dedicated Adriana was, even if she was hard on herself, and that she studied a STEM subject but went in another direction following her heart, but still using everything she learnt in her passion field.

If you just want a fun story to pass the time this is perfect!

Thank-you NetGalley and HarperCollins UK, One More Chapter, for allowing me to read this ARC. All opinions are my own.

This book was SO fun!
For one thing, I’m a huge Indiana Jones fan, so a romcom read that had similar vibes was a blast to read.

The books follows Adriana, a down on her luck business owner, vacationing with her brother William in Costa Rica! After a package is mis-delivered to her hotel room, she’s spirited away to a once in a lifetime adventure to Colombia with Dr. Andrew Jones (who seems to bear a resemblance to a certain Indiana Jones).

Even though this book definitely took some cues from the Indiana Jones movies, it didn’t read as a fan-fiction at all (which was something I was worried about!). It has a unique adventure and the romance was *chef’s kiss*.

This was an open door romance, so definitely keep that in mind! (I loved it!)

The characters were unique and interesting! I enjoyed learning their back stories and was invested in how everything was going to turn out. There were moments that had me laughing out loud (and also screaming to just make a move already!!!!)

I would definitely recommend this to others (and I can’t wait until it comes out so I can!)

This was generally a cute and fun read. It was a little fat fetched but I didn't mind that too much. I found the FMC a little hard to connect with but generally enjoyed the book overall

I had just finished Temple of Swoon so I was in the mood for another archeological adventure when I picked this one up. Unfortunately the writing was just not intriguing and the dialogue had me cringing. I like the idea behind a fun archeological adventure romance but this was just not for me.

Digging Dr Jones is a fun and adventurous romcom with strong Indiana Jones vibes. Adriana is unintentionally roped into Andrew's plans when she puts on a unremovable bracelet that was meant for him, but despite her unexpected presence, he never disparages her involvement or makes her feel useless. He was super supportive and sweet to her and he really valued the help and skills that she provided. The romance had a nice tension-filled slow burn until the spicy scenes kicked in, and the adventurous plot and the romance was all really well balanced.

I raced through this is one go and really enjoyed it! I can't wait to read more by Olivia Jackson as this was a really fun debut!

This book tried hard and almost succeeded. For the most part, I enjoyed the dialogue and inner monologue of the characters, but at times, Adriana came across as whiny and self-centered. Her constant focus on her father's abandonment and her mother's selfishness from childhood was a bit much—while I understand the impact of childhood trauma, bringing it up almost every other chapter after twenty years felt excessive.

The plot was a little far-fetched but made for an entertaining read. My biggest issue was towards the end when Adriana assumed Andrew was proposing and said yes before he even finished his sentence—despite spending the entire book insisting she wasn’t good enough for relationships and didn’t want one. That contradiction was frustrating.(view spoiler)

Digging Dr Jones was absolutely adorable! It was well balanced, funny, did not contain many (or any?) predictable tropes, was well written, enjoyable from start to finish.... Can't believe this is a beginner novel. I didn't really love the first few chapters, but that could just be a me problem. It went heavy with the Indiana Jones trope, if that's a thing. Oh, and heavy on the slow burn. Overall, delightful.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read and review this book.

I was invited by the publisher to review this book. Adriana Jones puts on a bracelet with gems on it, but then realizes that not only was it not meant for her, it also doesn't easily come off. The bracelet was meant for Andrew Jones, and he needs it for his archeology expedition in Columbia. Thus, the only solution is for Adriana to tag along on his quest.

This book was a great blend of romance and Indiana Jones, and Andrew and Adriana had perfect, sizzling chemistry. I enjoyed that Adriana, who had been burned in past relationships, wound up having to trust Andrew as he navigated the landscape - but in her trusting him, she also gained confidence in herself as a person, too. This was a really well-paced book, and I just loved the adventure and both of the characters!
