This book is what it would be like if The Mummy and Indiana Jones had a romcom baby and I adored it. This is a wonderfully done debut novel that starts with a mix up between Adriana Jones and Andrew Jones by way of a package delivery. This was a lighthearted adventure with action, mystery, banter and a bit of spice. I really loved these characters and could not put this book down. I think when doing a book like this it can go terribly wrong, but this one is terribly right and many readers will love this one! 4.5 stars

This was such a quick and fun read, I loved how easy it was to get lost in and I really enjoyed how from the very first page the story was so engaging with just the right amount of adventure, humour and romance and such compelling characters that were so relatable,I loved the dynamic between them so much. The pacing was just right and added in with the captivating writing just made this debut book a joy to read, highly recommend to anyone looking for an easy feel good book!

This book had a great plot with intriguing characters. I’ll definitely be looking out for more from this author.

I thought this was a great debut. If you loved the National Treasure movies but wanted more romance and spice then you will eat this book up. I adored the main characters. It was nice that Adriana and Andrew both had complicated pasts. It made them feel like more realistic characters. Then the bonus of the archaeological mystery they are trying to solve.

Digging Dr. Jones is a fantastic debut from Olivia Jackson that blends adventure, humor, and romance in the best way possible. If you love The Lost City, Indiana Jones or Something Wilder by Christina Lauren, with a side of sizzling chemistry, this book is an absolute must read!

Adriana and Andrew’s dynamic is so much fun. She’s completely out of her element, accidentally getting tangled in his high stakes treasure hunt, but instead of being just along for the ride, she fully embraces the adventure. I loved how Andrew never dismissed her ideas, always treating her as an equal and making sure she knew how much he valued her, even though she had zero background in archaeology. Their connection was built on respect, trust, and an undeniable spark that made every moment between them feel special.

Adriana’s past heartbreak made her hesitant about love, but the way she let herself trust Andrew and follow her instincts was so refreshing. And Andrew? Total book boyfriend material. He was supportive, kind, and a guy she could easily fall for (and did) from start to finish. Their island picnic date? Pure perfection.

The story moves at a great pace, balancing action, romance, and humor effortlessly. The forced proximity trope works so well here, and the ending wraps everything up in the most satisfying way. This was such a cute, fun, and spicy read. I can’t wait to see what Olivia Jackson writes next!

I loved this debut by Olivia Jackson. It was the perfect combination of adventure (Indiana Jones vibes) and romance. Andrew and Adriana were partners in crime and very cute together. Even though Adriana gets roped into this journey, she becomes very interested in the expedition and gets incredibly involved, and I liked how Andrew valued her as an equal and took her ideas seriously even though she had no background in archeology. He never lets her forget how much he respects and likes her, especially when Adriana shares her insecurities with him. And even though Adriana has been burned badly by a past relationship that has put her off from love, she wasn't scared to grab it by the hands and listen to her gut/instincts when she found it with Andrew. And even though they were on a mission, they always prioritized each other (aka that cute island picnic date). Overall, it was a very cute book, and the ending is wrapped up very nicely.
