This was a strong romantic comedy novel, it had that element that I was hoping for from the description. It had that element that I was looking for and enjoyed getting to know the characters in this world. Victoria Walters wrote this well and I was invested in what was happening.

Tessa's jerk boyfriend Joe is cheating on her and her friends encourage her to go on her non-refundable romantic Paris getaway that she and Joe were supposed to go on together. Surprise - Joe's friend Ethan is at the Air BNB because Joe told Ethan he could stay there. Tessa and Ethan share the small apartment and their attraction grows. Throw in other friends, Tessa's writer's block that she's hoping to overcome with inspiration from Paris, and heat between Ethan and Tessa, and you've got a fun, light-hearted romance. Joe is a complete jerk and both Ethan and Tessa spent too much time perseverating about Joe. Other than that, this is worth the fun read, and I loved the Paris setting, too.

The Paris Chapter is a heartwarming and sweet story. I really loved Tessa as a main character, I relate so much to her desire to flee to Paris due to a broken heart and her struggles with self love. I only wish that the author would use the backdrop of Paris more as a setting. We barely notice that she's actually in Paris.

Tessa is a rom-com novelist that just went through a bad break-up after finding her (now ex-) boyfriend cheating on her. She decides to still go on the get away they had planned together. When she arrives to the bnb they had booked, she finds out that her ex has gifted the trip to his best friend, Ethan, who is there on a cooking course.

It's a super swoony, feel good rom-com set in the city of love, which in my opinion was captured perfectly by the writer.
The characters were so relatable and I fell in love with Ethan, he is such a good guy. He helped Tessa so much on her rediscovery of love and overcoming her writers block.

The Paris Chapter, by Victoria Walters, is a swoony rom-com set in Paris.  Tessa recently became single again and is struggling to write her newest romance novel. When she finds herself sharing a one-bedroom Airbnb with a handsome guy, she means to spend her time writing, but agrees to let him show her the city "in the name of research". I've read a couple of Victoria Walters books and this one was an entertaining read, as were the others.
In The Paris Chapter, we follow romance author Tessa to Paris. She's been betrayed and in her quest to find peace with her relationship status, and the belief in romance again, she uses a break that had been booked for her and her now ex-boyfriend, Joe. However, she arrives to find that her cheating ex is even more of a git as he had passed on the break to his best friend.
Tessa is stuck in Paris during the height of Paris Fashion Week in a one-bedroom apartment with a rather hunky chef named Ethan.
I have to say I really enjoyed the close proximity nature of this story; we all know what we wanted to happen.
There is a decent enough steam factor within the story too - Phew!
One thing - I did not like Joe and couldn't bring myself to believe that Tessa would even try to possibly rekindle anything with that wally.

Another enjoyable romance from Victoria Walters. This one is in the same universe and The Plot Twist (Stevie makes a couple appearances) but can absolutely be read as a standalone. This book was a bit spicier than her previous two books, and I’m here for it. This story follows Tessa, a woman who recently dumped her two-timing turd sandwich of a boyfriend. She was supposed to go on a romantic trip to Paris with him, but decides to go alone since she paid for the trip. Said turd sandwich tells his best friend that he paid for it and his friend, Ethan, crashes her vacay. She was planning to use the trip to get inspired to write since she was struggling in the love department. Walters wrote a great villain in Joe and you will love to hate him. I also appreciate how the author not only focuses on the romance, but also self-love and acceptance. Definitely check this one out.

The Paris Chapter follows romance author Tessa, who flees to Paris after a bad breakup for some time away to decompress and get inspired for her next book. She had rented the Airbnb when she was still with her ex, but decides to take the trip anyway (go Tessa!). When she gets to her Airbnb, she comes across her ex's best friend, Ethan, who went with the intention of staying at the rented apartment while he's in Paris for a cooking course.

Strangely enough, Tessa didn't really know Ethan, despite being with his best friend for 6 months.Turns out, her ex was the worst. Just the worst! And kept Tessa away from his family and friends and had some very controlling tendencies, while cheating on her for their entire relationship. Despite being his best friend, Ethan is nothing like that, he's kind, funny, and really cares about Tessa, her work, her hopes and dreams... big time cinnamon roll vibes.

While in Paris, Tessa's interactions with Ethan really show her how much was stifled in her previous relationship. Her character growth was one of my favorite things about this book.

The third act conflict basically had me screaming at the book, not because it was badly done, but because it was so well done and realistic. I just didn't want it to happen but was happy with the resolution and HEA.

The Paris Chapter was a cozy romance (not too much spice, but some) with these tropes:

* Forced proximity

I have read all of Victoria Walter's romance books as ARCs and I truly don't think she can write a bad book. The plots are like most romance book, BUT her characters are what sets her books apart from all the other romances. Her characters, both FMC and MMC, are relatable people that have true problems that everyone can relate too.

Tessa Elliott is a romance author who is supposed to be writing her 3rd novel, but instead she hasn't written a word and her deadline is in 3 weeks. She has no plot, characters, or setting for her next novel. It does not help that she has fallen out of love when she find out that her boyfriend of 6 months had been cheating on her the whole time.
Tessa and her ex were supposed to go to Paris for their anniversary and instead of going together, Tessa decides to go by herself in hopes to become inspired for her book.

Tessa gets the surprise of her life when she walks into the Airbnb in Paris and her ex boyfriends childhood best friend is in a skimpy towel while walking out of the bathroom.

Tempers flare and things become resolved when Tessa and Ethan decide to share the apartment for the next 5 days.

During those 5 days Ethan shows her a side of Paris that tourists don't normally see. He introduces her to his friends and they have an immediate connection.

I just loved Ethan. He was sweet, sensitive, and wanted nothing more than to be an encouraging partner to Tessa. The only problem I have with him is his name, and that's more on me than anything else - I had a very traumatizing experience with a guy named Ethan.

There was a lot of growth with both characters and even the side characters were fun!

10/10 would recommend.

Really enjoyed this book by Victoria Walters, my first one, but definitely not my last. I loved the storyline , and there’s always something magical about books set in Paris, and this was no exception. Good characters, very well written, and highly recommended.

Such a cute read! A romance author coming to Paris for inspiration?! Only problem is, her home away from home is also inhabited by her ex’s best friend Ethan. This was such a feel good read and ladies, love is not dead.

I enjoyed the premise of this and how the relationship between Tessa and Ethan was a slow burn, but at times it felt too slow and I was losing interest. A lot of their dialogue felt awkward and I just didn’t feel invested in either character’s story. I liked the premise of the story and enjoyed the tension with the slow burn.

Love story set in Paris. Tessa, who's boyfriend Joel has been caught cheating has lost her writing mojo which is difficult because she's a romance writer and her next book is due very soon. She had booked a holiday in Pariscfor her and Joel but now they're no longer together she decides to go on her own.
This was quite a predictable story but this doesn't really matter its the getting there that counts.
My favourite character was Joel's friend Julieette, she knew just how she wanted to live her life and was so lovely to Tessa.
Oh Tessa, how can a woman be so stupid, I despaired of her. Being the first time reading a book by this author I didn't expect to read numerous sex scenes which were quite explicit. So if that's not for you then neither is this book.
I'm an older women and sorry but I don't think there's a need for them in this type of story.

A great fun rom-com read which will not disappoint.

Warm. Sweet. Swoony. Sexy as hell. AND Paris! What's not to love?!

The Paris Chapter had me falling in love with Tessa, Ethan and Paris. Tessa and boyfriend Joe had planned a romantic getaway to Paris. After finding him cheating on her novelist Tessa is encouraged to still go on the trip by her best friend to get back her writing mojo. When she arrives at her Air BnB she discovers Joe has offered the apartment to his best friend Ethan, a chef who is in Paris for a cooking course.

Both main characters were very relatable and I enjoyed getting to know them both and see their romance play out. Tessa had a lot of personal growth over the novel which was nice to see. I fell hard for Chef Ethan- he was an all round nice guy and can cook! Surrounding them were a lovely groups of friends who really looked out for each other and brought depth to the story. Joe was awful and definitely a character you loved to hate.

There seems to be quite a few rom coms set in Paris currently, however none have captured Paris as well as Victoria. It was nearly a character itself. I loved all the descriptions of the Seine, big sights and discovering hidden gems along with Ethan and Tessa. I am so keen to go back and visit it now. There was a bit of spice- the perfect amount and very fitting with the story line. For people who enjoy forced proximity, one bed and exes best friend tropes. My first by Victoria and definitely not my last. I can’t wait to catch up on her back most of both romance and cozy mysteries.
