The Paris Chapter was the most adorable, heartwarming read! I’m obsessed with the city itself and it truly was the perfect setting for Ethan and Tessa. This book was both perfectly French and perfectly British, which made for the perfect combination!

It’s hard not to love a redemption arc like what Tessa has. She goes to Paris with the intention of finding herself and finding her writing voice- two difficult tasks! I love that she realizes her own voice and her independence at the same time as following her love story. She is a whole person on her own, and it’s beautiful that she was able to finally see that for herself.

This book was warm and sweet in all the best ways. I would love nothing more than to be transported to Paris to follow the journey that Tessa goes on! I just felt good the entire time reading this book, which was the best feeling to have.

Requested this book for my trip to Paris, and am so glad I did! The romance is highly predictable and the city wasn't featured as much as I had hoped (I was looking for something to the level of 4 days in Paris), but an enjoyable vacation read nonetheless!

What a great book! I really enjoyed this book. I couldn’t put it down. The author has such a good writing style. This was a first for me by this author but will not be my last! I enjoyed the characters. They had good chemistry.

While the trope is overdone, this is a very swoony romance with a fresh take in Paris. I enjoyed the slow burn and open door scenes plus it doesn't hurt that he's a chef and she's an author....I love that kind of pairing! The 3rd act drama was a little stupid but it did have a cute ending.

I was really excited to read this third book.
Nothing innovative in this story (the romance author who's heart has been crushed is a well known plot) but very well written and enjoyable.
Another bookish book I'll be adding to my shelves in 2025.

Tessa is romance author whose personal experience of love has been crushed and her heart has been torn into tiny little pieces thanks to her two-timing ex boyfriend Joe.

With a deadline for her new book looming less than a month away, Tessa hasn't written a single word. She booked a mini-break in Paris months ago whilst she was still with Joe and hesitantly decides to go there, not just because she's already paid for the AirBnb, but also because she is in dire need of some inspiration for her book.

When she gets to the apartment, Joe's best friend Ethan is there, thanks to Joe telling Ethan that he could use the apartment. Both Tessa and Ethan end up sharing the apartment as due to it being Paris Fashion Week, Ethan is unable to find any alterative accommodation. They end up spending time together and there is undeniable chemistry between the two but Tessa still feels scathed from Joe's betrayal.

I liked Ethan's character more than I liked Tessa's. I really wished that Tessa's personality had more oomph as she was very repetitive with her thoughts which I found to be quite irritating.

I loved Juliette - may we all have a Juliette in our lives. She was sassy, determined and fiery - all that Tessa was not. I also loved that there was a slight crossover between this book and characters from the author's recent two books, The Plot Twist and The Love Interest.

However, I do have a major quibble. If Carly's condition was 'high-risk' and she had a scare, I really don't know why she was out on the following night for a dinner with friends.

Overall, a cute read and as always, in true Victoria Walters style, many cups of tea were drunk!

This is an unexpected gem. At first I was intrigue since the things movings too fast and it wasn't even halfway of the book. Then the conflict shows up which is kinda made no sense ( i guess dumb decisions usually arise during heightened emotions.). Also i notice that whenever Ethan compliment's Tessa's writing it's always " You are talented."

When I came across The Paris Chapter on NetGalley and saw it was recommended for fans of Emily in Paris, I knew I had to request it—and was thrilled to receive an ARC. The story follows Tessa, a young woman grappling with heartbreak after discovering her boyfriend of six months is a cheater. She decides to escape to Paris and take advantage of a room she had already rented, hoping the change of scenery will cure her writer's block.

Upon arriving, Tessa is surprised to find an unexpected houseguest. As they navigate sharing the space, she begins to understand what a genuine connection feels like. Immersed in Parisian life, forming new friendships, and exploring the city, Tessa gains fresh perspectives on herself and her past. When I saw that Victoria Walters' upcoming book was available as an ARC, I grabbed it right away. I've read her books before and really liked them. So I gathered my Kindle, a handful of chocolates, and settled into my armchair to read

A betrayed writer, Tessa, travels to Paris to be by herself, but due to confusion, she bumps into her ex-boyfriend's best friend, Ethan, at an Airbnb.

They end up spending time together in Paris, and Tessa's heart, which has been betrayed by love, is slowly starting to heal. She meets new people, eats wonderful food, and enjoys life. She also gets to know Ethan, who is not dark, tall, and handsome. Instead, Ethan is something better - kind, thoughtful, and sweet. Could someone so different be what Tessa really needs?

I really enjoyed the first half of the book. But in the second half, Tessa's irrational actions annoyed me so much! I wanted to jump to the part where she acted rationally again. (And I hated Joe. He was an insufferable cheating, manipulative, lying asshole.)

Although this wasn't my biggest favorite, I enjoyed the book and will continue to read Victoria Walters' books.

Tessa is a romance author who has writer's block after being cheated on by her ex Joe. They were due to go to Paris on a short vacation in February so now she is going on her own, after a bit of pushing and shoving from best friend Carly.

However, the apartment with a gorgeous view onto the Eiffel Tower is not empty - Joe's best friend Ethan has been given the use by him without Joe thinking of informing Tessa. As the whole of Paris seems to be booked out solid, the two of them try to share the impossibly pretty but bijou one-bed property. Ethan is doing a cookery course and showing Tessa around Paris, who slowly starts getting inspired to write again.

I was really enjoying the book, I liked the characters, the scenery and the story, they were watching Ratatouille together and it was cute and then, two thirds in, Tessa does something so ludicrously stupid that the book went from 4 to 3 stars right there and then. My most hated trope came into play - miscommunication and misunderstandings. It's like drama has to be artificially created just in case there isn't enough plot.

I don't mind a romantic story being predictable but I've had enough of grown-up characters who have no self-confidence and don't think they're good enough for anyone. It's ridiculous. Also, Joe is a coercive controller and gaslighter and needs to be called out for that.

I'm sure a lot of readers will love this and also enjoy the spice, but it wasn't for me in the end, which is a shame because it started so well. However, I did like the cover which captured the setting well.

After Tessa finds out her boyfriend Joe is cheating on her, she's reluctant to take the Paris vacation they booked. Especially since as a romance writer, she's been struggling with writer's block. But when she arrives in Paris to find his friend Ethan is sharing their apartment, she has to decide whether to trust in love again.

I really enjoyed that this book was very specifically British, with characters who not an American caricature of Brits (even if Ethan does love cricket!). I also really enjoyed the balance of Tessa's two best friends - Carly, the childhood best friend who is half of a devoted couple and settled, and Juliette, the French free spirit. I enjoyed that both characters were really there for Tessa in different, complementary ways. I also felt like Carly really gave us a glimpse into Tessa as a supportive friend, which was important when we didn't have a lot of information about who she was and what made her tick - except that she was from the North of England.

I do wish this book had explicitly named Joe's behaviours towards Tessa as emotional abuse. Controlling someone, telling them what to wear and how to behave is abusive, and I hope other people reading the book know that there are resources and supports for these behaviours - and that they can find their own happy endings.

This was so cute!

Sometimes when you break up with your turd boyfriend that you planned a Paris vacation with you just need to go on that vacation alone (except sometimes said turd boyfriend's best friend shows up and you need to share that little Paris vacation with him while you try to find the motivation to write your book while also falling in love)...ya know...

Nobody pay attention to absolute lack of grammar in that sentence, I did that for the vibes. THE VIBES.

This was super cute and such a breeze, although there were some side characters that I really did not care about at all (especially Carly, sorry to Carly).

And I did think it was quite funny that the main characters were watching Emily in Paris together whilst in Paris. That was a very fun little touch.

Victoria Walters, I now want to read more from you.
