What a great book! I absolutely loved how twisty and clever this one was! I was totally engrossed from beginning to end and would definitely read from this author again,
Love this author and with every one of his books, he raises the bar! This book was incredible! Fast paced, so very tense and gripping. Brilliant and full of twists. Loved it!
Daniel Hurst is the king of domestic suspense popcorn thrillers. His books always grip me from the start, pack suspense, and have a twist I never see coming. I love some and like others and there’s not been one I’ve read that I didn’t like. They are fast paced and short enough that there isn’t a chance for them to slow down.
This one has me wondering, how well do you know your loved ones. Jenny and Lachlan have been married for 20 years and Jenny knows little about his life before they met. Is he a caring husband or does his secrets shed light on who he really is? I like that Jenny and her daughter get caught up in an unsolved mystery series that happened in Lachlan’s hometown.
So many little things tip the scales that Lachlan is not a good guy, but you’ll never guess how this one ends. I liked that we saw how it all unraveled from both of their points of view. Knowing Lachlan’s thoughts had me disliking him from the start. I related to Jenny, but I waffled back and forth if she was just too trusting. You’ll have to read it and decide for yourself.
This reminds me of either a Freida McFadden or one of Kiersten Modglin’s more suspenseful books. Once you pick it up, you won’t want to put it down.
Daniel has done it again! Fully ready for the twists and turns but NOT all of them. There were still shocks to be had. This was fast paced and all the good things that quick suspense should deliver. Can't wait until everyone adds this to their TBR!

🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
Oh another gripping thriller by Daniel Hurst. Love his style of writing and this book in particular tells us a side of the story from a serial killers point of view!
Defo another cracking read
Thank you 🤩
I have read other Daniel Hurst novels and was excited to have the opportunity to read this one! I was not disappointed and couldn’t put this one down
Jenny and Lachlan have two children, William and Bonnie. Bonnie is 17 and preparing to depart for university in the near future, and William, being younger has more studies to go before he graduates .
They are a lovely family living in the United Kingdom,.
There are just a couple of secrets that might cause a problem. But I too will not divulge them. Besides, nobody's perfect, and isn't that what loving families are for? Well, we can't swear for anybody but ourselves, right?
Daniel Hurst is quite the storyteller and has a knack for shifting perfectly normal stories to the extraordinary, thus keeping us immersed in his books throughout the night. There is lots of action .
This book is exciting, clever and extremely well done. I was reading so fast, the words were flying off the pages! I have always liked Daniel Hurst's books and this one is the cream of the crop for me.
Just read it.
Thank you to the author and the publisher for providing me with an advance copy of this book. All opinions are my own.
This was a fun and fast read. I read it all in one day, and had a good time. It wasn't a mind blowing twisted thriller but still so fast-paced and entertaining.
I dont think Daniel Hurst could do any wrong in my mind . He keeps putting out books that are getting better and better. I find his writing to be addicting and am not able to put down his books. SO good.
So much fun to read! It hooked me and kept me up late. I love the suspense and twist in this one!! A day’s worth of chores were neglected in exchange for reading this book!
Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this eARC.
Daniel Hurst's "The Husband" is a masterful exploration of the insidious nature of doubt. The story unfolds like a slow-burning fuse, each chapter igniting a fresh wave of unease within the reader.
Hurst masterfully avoids the clichés of the genre. Instead of relying on cheap jump scares or predictable plot twists, he meticulously constructs an atmosphere of creeping dread. The protagonist, a seemingly ordinary man, becomes increasingly unmoored.
This is a descent into the protagonist's own fractured psyche. Hurst brilliantly captures the insidious way paranoia can warp perception, turning everyday occurrences into sinister clues. The reader is forced to question their own assumptions, constantly second-guessing the reliability of the narrator's perspective.
"The Husband" is a chilling reminder that the most terrifying monsters often lurk within our own minds. It's a book that will stay with you long after you've turned the final page, leaving you questioning the very foundations of trust and reality.
Loved it! I'm a huge fan of Daniel Hurst, and this was another great one. Very suspenseful! I thought i had it figured out, but of course I didnt.
I loved it! Daniel Hurst reminds me a lot of Freida McFadden in the best way and he is becoming an auto buy author for sure!
This was a fast paced, easy thriller. This would be great for a thrilling beach read. The story moves along quickly and the author presents many different character angles.
I’ve read many books by this author and always enjoyed them. They are fast paced and want to keep you reading! They are hard to put down because you really want to find out what’s going to happen!
4.5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
✨ Scotland. Predictable ending. Suspense.
Family drama.
✨ Jenny has a lovely home, 2 kids and happy married when suddenly a documentary on the telly appears and it was a revelation of what her husband is.
Going to a village in Scotland to find the truth and the lies.
Absolutely amazing writing and I know it will be.
The ending was just abrupt and I felt like I needed more but not to the extend that this need to have a part 2.
Definitely worth the read and no boring bits! Everything is written well:)
Thankyou @bookouture for the opportunity to read this book for a honest review.

Big Thank you by NetGalley and especially Bookouture for my ARC.
The Husband is another unputdownable psychological thriller by Daniel Hurst. Hurst is one of my go to authors and every time he has a new book out I don’t even need to read the book description as I know it’ll be a superb read. Well this was certainly the case with The Husband. Right from the prologue I was utterly gripped and before I knew it I was halfway through this book. This was a fast paced read and my heart was in my mouth at times. Brilliant beginning and an excellent ending which I wasn’t expecting. This was a book I read in one sitting as I was so hooked on the story.
As someone who frequently watches true crime and listens to true crime podcasts, I absolutely loved this one!! It was very fast paced and hard to put down. The plot was brilliant!
