Charlie Tyler's "The Tangled Mane" isn't your typical cozy mystery. Set amidst the picturesque but brooding landscapes of the Welland Valley, this debut novel plunges readers into a chilling tale of murder, deceit, and the long shadows of the past.
Tyler masterfully weaves together a compelling mystery with a rich historical tapestry. The story unfolds at a leisurely pace, allowing readers to savor the atmosphere and become immersed in the lives of the eccentric inhabitants of the valley. The characters are vividly drawn, each harboring secrets and burdened by the weight of past transgressions.
The mystery itself is intricate and cleverly constructed, with red herrings aplenty to keep readers guessing until the very end. Tyler skillfully employs a blend of historical details, local folklore, and psychological intrigue to create a truly unique and captivating reading experience.
"The Tangled Mane" is a promising start to what promises to be a captivating series. It's a must-read for fans of historical mysteries, those who enjoy atmospheric settings, and anyone seeking a truly immersive and thought-provoking reading experience.

This was a strong start to the Welland Valley Murders series, it had that element that I was looking for from the description. I was invested in what was happening and enjoyed the overall concept for this. Charlie Tyler has a strong writing style and was glad I got to read this, I can't wait to read more in this series.
