Sylvia, still living at the Wallflower Academy, is just trying to escape. Theodore is just trying to find a father is knows nothing about. Each are dealing with the problems that they have in their lives and combining them together. A fake engagement where they began looking for Theodore's father.
Will they be able to work through everything to get issues worked out.
I received an ARC from NetGalley and Publisher and leaving a review by my own choice.

This was a decent read. An impulsive, bit out of control heroine, Sylvia, and a quiet hero Teddy, have an amazing meet-cute moment that leads to a fake engagement. Teddy wants to find the truth behind his father's identity and Sylvia just wants to go home to her mother in Antigua. Together they decide to help each other and through those moments start falling in love.
This was a decently written book, but I did find my mind wandering as some parts of it were just meh.

This third book in The Wallflower's Academy series was a captivating and well written historical romance. It was full of humor and wit, interesting issues that kept me chuckling and very entertained. I enjoyed the cute meet, the originality of the story, the delightful characters, and most of all, the surprise that changes their lives. The ending was lovely. I highly recommend reading!

The energy between Sylvia and Theodore is what keeps this book moving. From the first chapter, their spark and banter take over everything else. This is a good thing because the first two books in the series suffer from plot holes, characters who enjoy their misery a bit too much, and interrupted dialogue that is difficult to understand. Sylvia's personality is such that she pulls us past the small plot holes so quickly that we don't care, she does not allow much wallowing, and she interrupts dialogue in such a way that is understandable to the readers. In short, the whole book rests on Sylvia's shoulders, and she does a very good job carrying it until Theodore is able to take his part. This is far and away the best of the series, and I had a hard time putting it down.

Good book. Sylvia has been at the Wallflower Academy for several years. She was sent there, not because she was a wallflower but because she didn't fit into her father's expectations. She was born in Antigua and forced to leave her mother to go to England. Determined to avoid the London marriage mart, she plots her escape from the Academy and return to Antigua, never expecting to find herself engaged to a duke.
Teddy Featherstonehaugh was doing a favor for a friend when a beautiful woman jumped into his carriage and attempted to convince him to aid in her escape. No matter what he says or does, she talks over him, refusing to give up her plan. Her plans are foiled when the headmistress, Miss Pike, finds her in the carriage in an awkward position. Miss Pike declares her compromised and insists that Sylvia and Teddy marry.
Neither wants to marry, but they recognize they are in a tough spot. After a short private discussion, Teddy and Sylvia agree to an engagement for their own reasons. Being engaged to Teddy frees Sylvia up for visits to London, enabling her to make arrangements for her voyage to Antigua without interference. Teddy, who isn't really a duke, can use Sylvia's help in his search for the identity of his father.
I enjoyed the development of Teddy and Sylvia's relationship. Both are illegitimate and know what it feels like to be an outsider. I loved how they found it easy to talk to each other and share their hopes and fears. Their conversations are fun, with neither one afraid to be honest with the other. I laughed at Teddy's frequent state of befuddlement around Sylvia, often losing his train of thought. Neither expected the sparks of attraction or the feelings that grew between them.
But until Teddy knows who he is, he cannot ask Sylvia to marry him. Unfortunately, once his identity is confirmed, Sylvia's fears keep her from accepting her heart's desire. It takes a great deal of effort for Teddy to overcome those fears, but the results are fantastic when he does. The story doesn't end there. I loved seeing Teddy and Sylvia continue their unorthodox relationship with a wedding that is not the usual Society event. I loved the surprise wedding gift Teddy had for Sylvia.
The epilogue was terrific. I loved seeing that their new status hasn't changed Teddy and Sylvia significantly.

Pretending to be a duchess will give her a freedom she has never known and give her a chance to plan for the future. He has no idea what he is doing or he is. But the faux engagement will give him a chance to find out.
The more fake it gets the more real it becomes.
This was an enchanting tale of two lost young adults. One. Who knows exactly who she is but wishes to find her past. One who has no idea and is searching for his future. A unique book with an intriguing plot. Thorough enjoyed reading this book.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own. I am disclosing this in accordance with guidelines.

Sylvia and Teddy are will keep you guessing. Sylvia is rambunctious and loud, but she has issues with an absent father and feels inferior. She also is very self conscious of her mixed heritage. Teddy is a pretend Duke. He has set out to find information on his absent father. Their mutual needs bring them together in a romantic story that will keep you turning the pages. Can a wallflower and a pretend Duke make it work?

I don't know why I keep picking up regency romance hoping to find something similar to Jane Austen. This one had the banter going for it. But the hero lacked the charm of Mr. Darcy.

Firstly, Thank you so much to Netgalley and Harlequin -Romance (the publisher) for this e-advance reader copy! I have not read a historical fiction book in a while, and this definitely scratched that itch for me! This was in the okay to good range for me! 3.5 out of 5 stars.
This book is about two main characters really trying to find themselves and just so happen to be in a fake engagement with one another due to happenstance and serendipity! I feel like both main characters are so likeable and cute! Sylvia is feisty and speaks her mind freely, while Teddy is thoughtful, and their banter is so sweet. Gosh and when they both finally stopped playing around and just fell in love - *chef’s kiss!* so so good.
I won’t say that this is ground-breaking literature, but I did find it cute and endearing. I think I just wanted a little more romance to follow such a beautifully done build up.
This is a great palette cleanser if you are hoping to get into a new genre! I found myself laughing out loud and giggling with Teddy and Sylvia throughout the book.

I was really excited about this book just from the title and cover... and then I realized the author was white. I'm sure that a white author can write a black FMC with care, I just don't think it was this one. Sylvia just made a lot of offhand comments about being insecure about being black and it just didn't feel responsible coming from a white author. Otherwise the plot was fun and I really wanted to continue reading, I just couldn't in good conscience.

What a touching, funny, fantastical story! Miss Bryant perpetually trying to escape the Wallflower Academy is very amusing. She is bold, mischievous and such a rich character. Theodore Featherstonehaugh is alone, lonely and wants to find his father. As the two create a scheme to each reach their goals, the reader gets a glimpse of the pain and sorrow that each have hidden. This is a wild take, but so fun to read.

Sylvia has been living at the Wallflower Academy for the last several years. She is tired of all of the restrictions placed on a genteel young woman and longs to live life and be her own person.
Teddy is searching for his heritage. He does not know who his father is and has never felt like he belonged.
Through a madcap scheme of Sylvia's, they end up being compromised and forced to plan on getting married.
These two characters are very compatible and likeable. They both know what it feels like to be on the outside of society. I was rooting for them the entire book!
My only complaint is when a character never let's the other person finish a sentence. This happens quite a lot. Other than that, it's a great book.
Thank you to netgalley for the ARC. Opinions are my own.

When Sylvia tries to escape from her wallflower school, she jumps into a carriage that Teddy is in. When caught, they tell the headmistress that Teddy is a duke and that they are betrothed. This gives them time for Sylvia to hopefully buy passage to go home to Antigua It gives Teddy time to try and find out whom his father is. Both being illegitimate, they find they have much in common. Can Teddy convince Sylvia that marriage to him won't be another cage of rules for Sylvia? I received an ARC from NetGalley and Harlequin for my honest review.
