Rescue on the Farm by Allie Pleiter
They weren’t looking for love
But these puppies will bring them together
Police officer Grant Emerson’s temporary trip home is turning into a disaster. Instead of selling the family farm, his mom and aunts have opened an animal shelter—and already rescued several puppies! When neighboring single mother Meg Kittering offers to help, the matchmaking sisters are convinced she can cure Grant’s grumpiness, despite his protests. But behind Meg’s sunny smiles are struggles Grant can relate to. They’re both in need of love…but can they help each other accept it?
This is Meg Kittering and her two daughters five-and six-year-old's story.
This is Grant Emerson, his aunts and mom's story.
Meg Kittering watched the enormous dark-eyed man yank open her diner door and then practically fill the doorway. He scanned the Sundial Diner until he found her. Glaring in a way that somehow made his eyes even darker, he walked straight to her.
“Puppies.” He muttered it in the same tone Mike the cook used when he burned the bacon. “You gave Mom puppies.”
Ah, so that’s who this was. Now she saw the resemblance clearly. It was hard to recognize at first because Cay Emerson was one of the sweetest, kindest women Meg knew.
Meg pulled in a breath. “I did not give Cay the puppies. She was here when we found them.”
“But you talked her into taking them home.” It was more accusation than statement.
“Oh, no,” Meg refuted. “Taking them home was all your mother’s idea. Nearly instantly, I might add.”
He crossed his arms over his broad chest. Even out of uniform, the man radiated law enforcement. He was probably an excellent police officer down in Billings.
Meg got the sense Grant Emerson never did anything without a very good reason.
“I don’t have time for this. I’m only here for a quick weekend visit, and now she wants me to help.” He seemed irritated that no one had consulted him on the matter.
I recommend this book.

This is a wonderful book. I feel in love with the cover and when I started reading the book. I loved it!
It has wonderful characters, an animal rescue, two adorable little girls, and puppies! Meg and Grant's
story will keep you turning the pages to see what happens next. It's a fun clean romance with just a touch of drama.
I received a complimentary copy from Harlequin - Romance | Love Inspired via NetGalley and was not required to write a review. All opinions expressed are mt own.

A sweet romance. Two little girls and a litter of puppies add lots of heart and charm to the tale. I look forward to reading the next one which will be adding rabbits to the mix. Thanks to the publisher for providing a copy via NetGalley. My review is voluntary.

Sweet small-town Christian romance!
Meg has been through the death of her husband much too young, leaving her to raise 2 small daughters. She's also running a barely-staying-above-water diner in town, and does as much to support her community as possible.
When her neighbor Cay and her sisters start a rescue farm next door, the girls are thrilled. Who is not so thrilled is Cay's grown son, Grant. Grant is on temporary leave from his job as a law enforcement officer, but is channeling his frustration with his job into the rescue farm, finding all kinds of potential problems with the plan. Regardless, Cay wants to continue, and most of the town is supportive.
This was a clean Christian story, wholesome and sweet. Puppies top off the mixture! Recommended!
Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book, but my opinions are my own.

Love seems to happen when you least expect it and sometimes it happens with the help of a farm and puppies. I mean who doesn't love puppies.

Rescue on the Farm was a sweet story of a widow & her two daughters, along with their grumpy semi next door neighbor. The little girls & puppies will have you laughing, while watching the adults fall in love.
The ending seemed rushed, like we were missing too many pieces to the story. But overall, it was cute & fun!

Rescue on the Farm by Allie Pleiter is the new K-9 Companions book. Billings polo officer come home to talk his Mom into selling the family farm. Meg and her two daughters live next door. Meg runs the local diner. Greg is convinced his mom and aunts cannot make an animal sanctuary work. Two girls and some adorable puppies try to change his mind. I was able to read this thanks to NetGalley.

I couldn’t put this book down! I read it in one sitting and absolutely loved it. It’s the perfect mix of enemies to friends to lovers and grumpy vs sunshine, and the story was so heartwarming.
Meg is a widow with two young daughters, struggling to make ends meet. She lives next door to Cay, who, along with her sisters, plans to open a Rescue Farm on the property. While Meg isn’t technically family, she cares deeply for Cay and her sisters, everyone except for Grant. When Grant walks into her diner, the tension between them is instant. He wants Cay to sell the land, while Meg is determined to support her plans for the farm. Grant is in town to convince his mom to sell and has been forced to take time off from work due to some career issues. With Meg and Cay living so close to one another, Meg and Grant find themselves spending a lot of time together. Though they seem like complete opposites, they begin to open up to each other, despite the fact that it’s not a good idea. He’s leaving soon, and Meg has made it clear that someone like him is too risky for her. She lost her first husband to a dangerous job, and she’s not willing to go through that again. So, they try to fight their feelings, both agreeing it can’t be anything more. But is anything impossible with God?
Will Cay and her sisters manage to open the Rescue Farm? Can Meg find a way to stay afloat financially? Will Grant ever figure things out with his career? And could there be a chance for him and Meg after all? You’ll have to read to find out, but I can already tell that this Rescue Farm series is going to be incredible. I’m so excited for Carly’s story next!
I received a complimentary copy of this book. This review reflects my honest opinion.

Temporarily exiled from his job due to subordination, Grant Emerson is planning to use his time helping his mother sell the family farm. However, his mother has other plans, which frustrates Grant. Former classmate Meg Kettering steps in to assist. Widowed with two daughters, Meg has certainly caught Grant’s attention.
This delightful story is a quick read, although there’s not much backstory about Grant’s job and the reasons behind his problems. One of the book’s charms is the litter of puppies that have just been born. Then there are Meg’s two adorable daughters. Everything comes together in this heartwarming love story.

A huge thank you to NetGalley for the opportunity to read an ARC of this title!
I really enjoyed reading Grant and Meg's story, especially their transformations, discovery and trust of faith, and the importance family values. While I wish there weren't quite so many gaps about Grant's career as a Billings police officer, I know that wasn't really essential for the book's story line, but certainly could have added to it. The ending was sweet and definitely well deserved.
If someone is looking for an easy read and a clean romance, this would be included with titles I'd consider suggesting. You'll find a large "teddy bear", adorable puppies, and darling little girls to also be very appealing aspects of the book.
