I was really surprised by this book. I liked it very much. It was a beautifully written story. I liked the supernatural additons to it.

I enjoyed the setting of the book, and I thought the characters were easy to relate to. The writing is poetic and very beautiful. The story, of course, is tragic--just absolutely awful. It made my heart break. But while I felt emotionally connected to what was going on, I also felt that the writing could get overwrought. Also, the book seemed choppy at points, and that distracted me from what was going on, too. In short, the book started strong, but I ended up not enjoying it as much as I thought I was going to.
