Thank you Greenleaf Book Group and NetGalley for an ARC of this book in return of my honest opinion.
Arivee Vargas share her 4 point plan in this part memoir /part self help (for want of a better description) book.
Vargas is of Latino heritage, a wife, mother, lawyer and tired. Worn out and caged in a career that doesn not spark joy, she reaches to wisdom from the bookshelves, meeting the likes of Brene Brown and Marianne Robinson.
Through her book Arivee provides a step by step process, primary for women of colour, but ultimately for all women on how to return to your North Star and reclaim your joy.
Reading like a written coaching session, Arivee sets out her 4 point plan of:
Assess
Activate
Ask
Align
Throughout the book questions are provided to create curiosity and to help the reader begin to unlock their power and work toward reclaiming their joy. This book reminded me to the process of an initial coaching session. The exercise of the wheel of life is explained to reader to get clarity on where they currently are in life. Once clear on the starting point Arivee then helps navigate the road ahead, helping the reader anchor themselves in their truth and provide strategies to help break free of their limiting beliefs.
Written with Arivee’s own story woven throughout, this book is perfect for someone who is new to this genre and to those who may wish to learn more about how they can get unstuck and regain the freedom they deserve. It also provides a great insight into what part of the coaching process can look like and how it can help
For those familiar with coaching this book is an enjoyable recap woven through the memoir through Arivee’s experience.

This book was created with the intention to help support people going through challenging times. It helped me gain clarity on what I needed to do next. Your Time to Rise sets out a series of goals and therapy tools you can use to level up yourself. I enjoyed reading the parts about goal setting and relationships. Both are very important to me. I think anyone who is going through hard times, is going through therapy and dealing with grief or trauma could relate to this book. I very much enjoyed it. Thank you publisher and author for sending this one through.
