I loved this book so much and I am SO angry at the ending. The only sweet relief is that there is another on the way because what the Hel was that!!!! I look forward to seeing what Estrella and Caldris can really do together when all is said and done and having ALL of our broken hearts mended!

Okay, so let me just say, this series just keeps getting better and better with each book! I think this one’s my favorite so far. A lot of the book focuses on Estrella being in Tartarus, and I honestly loved the change of scenery—it brought a whole new vibe with fresh plotlines and characters. It almost felt like a totally different story, but everything ties back into the bigger picture of the series, which I loved. We still get tons of Mab’s cruel side and all the drama at her palace in Tar Mesa, and if you thought Mab couldn’t get more unhinged... oh, she does. I can’t wait for her (hopefully) epic downfall. It’s gonna be so satisfying!
I’ll admit, I wasn’t really a fan of Caldris at first, but omg, his character growth has been EVERYTHING. He’s become such a complex guy, and Estrella really brings out the best in him. That said, we still get our morally grey, "he'll burn the world for her" MMC vibes, and I am HERE for it. I was worried there wouldn’t be much Caldris and Estrella together in this book, but don’t worry, we get plenty of those moments—both the sweet and the steamy ones!
I seriously want to spill all the tea, but it's so hard to talk about anything without spoilers since we don’t know what’s next after Estrella jumps into the cove at the end of book three. But I will say I absolutely loved all the mythology references in Tartarus—Medusa and the Morrigan? YES. Woods does such a fantastic job bringing this world to life with her writing, and I could literally picture everything as I read.
And omg, the TWISTS and reveals in this book? I was literally kicking and screaming, jaw on the floor. I’m so glad there are at least two more books because I need more of this story in my life!

I am not necessarily a fantasy fan but I am a fan of Harper Woods. This book is not the first in the series so I was a bit lost at the beginning but she's such a great writer that it draws you in, making you care for the main characters and rooting for them.

This book will destroy you and you'll love every second of it! You'll be begging for the next one as soon as you finish.

I love this series because each book somehow tops the previous one! This is my favorite yet. Most of this book is spent with Estrella in Tartarus, which added some freshness to the story with new plot lines and characters. It almost felt like a separate story from the other books, but everything is so vital to the series overall. There is still a heavy dose of Mab’s cruelty and the events going on at her palace in Tar Mesa. Although it doesn’t seem possible, Mab becomes even more unhinged and it will make her (hopefully) eventual downfall even more satisfying.

“Be the fucking monster, Estrella. For they will judge you as one either way.”
I don’t know how I’m going to emotionally recover from this.
This was one of my most anticipated releases since 2023 and just like that.. It was over.
This was a rollercoaster from start to finish. We left off on a horrible cliffhanger on book 3, and if you think book 4 was any safer? HAH.
This was psychological warfare. My heart was gifted so many incredible moments only to be left completely shattered and crying in my car by the end of it.
Is this a feel good, cozy Romantasy? No. Not at all.
Do I recommend this book with my whole chest? Absolutely.
Will it destroy you? Also, yes.
There is not a book by Harper that I do not love, BUT “Of flesh and bones” series remains one of my favorites of all time, and I’m willing to fight about it. This is a hill I will die on.
What sleeps within the cove is an absolute masterpiece, and probably one of, if not my FAVORITE, in the series so far. Absolutely worth the wait.
Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m gonna take the next 5-10 business days to process everything that transpired.

Eh, I don’t know if I’m going to continue this series. This was okay, but I’m not as interested as I was at the beginning of the series.

Will not be continuing with this series as I did not enjoy the first book.
Thank you for the earc.

I've been hooked on this series since its Kindle Unlimited debut, immediately ordering physical copies after the first book shattered my heart. Nearly three years later, I was thrilled for the release of the fourth installment, especially after 'What Lurks Between the Fates' left me emotionally devastated for months. (I'm not kidding, ask my bestie)
This series excels at emotional impact. Five stars for the sheer trauma! I desperately want happiness for Estrella and Caldris, but the fates seem determined to deny them. The relentless trials and heartache, particularly for Estrella, feel almost unbearable.
I know these feelings will linger until the next book arrives, much like the aftermath of the third installment. Harper Woods has crafted a series that demands emotional investment – perhaps even warrants complimentary therapy sessions.

For the first time (this year), I am genuinely at a loss for words. The wait for this book was filled with frustration, yes, but genuine anticipation. Note: I am a long time Harper/Adelaide fan and have been stanning this couple since Book 1.
Let's get into the review--
The book picks up right at the cliffhanger from WLBTF. If you don't want to do a full reread, at least skim the last two chapters. From there, we go with Estrella on YET another journey to finding and accepting herself. This is full of action and challenges mentally, physically, and emotionally.
I agree that this book could have been fewer chapters. 67 is just a lot (and in this economy?!?). I don't love that we went on a new venture opposed to finishing where she's already been. If I'm tired, I know she is. My girl has seen and did a lot which is a strong spoiler-free theme here. We also get a new POV that helps the reader see what's happening IRL as Estrella is on her path to *whatever* but also, new people??? Boo. We're 4 books in now. I wish the series ended here but of course I'm excited to see what's left to come.
I loved that we DID receive some answers to questions from Books 1-3. We receive many of these answers in the first 1/3 of the book so there is hope people! We see some familiar faces and meet some new ones. I would love to chat about Estrella's history so pleaseeeeee comment or DM me with your theories. I threw my Kindle several times at some reveals.
I will absolutely not be talking about the ending of this one and hope that you all enjoy this as much as I did. This one is a little spicier (Caldris is back on his voyeurism y'all) and full of feels! Read it so I can talk more about it. Please.
Thank you to NetGalley and Harper/Adelaide for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

I thought this was very good and I will have to add this to the shop shelves. Thank you for the chance for us to review.

Im done with this series. I'm so bummed because I've only heard great things but each book just let me down more and more...i really thought this was going to be the last book, but instead it's just more FILLER AND TRAVEL. And we find out that it's now a 6 book series? Ugh i may pick up the series again once all the books are out but im so tired of romantasy series being dragged out too ling.

This books picks up where the last one left off. It just sucks you in from the start. It makes you wonder what is going to happen next and what else Estrella & Caldris have to go through. This book had me wanting to throw my iPad at times. lol. That ending though…. I can’t wait for the next book.

While the premise was nice, the writing was... not what I expected. I wanted more from the characters because I felt that what was on the front cover and the front flap was not what we were given.

Honestly one of my favorite romantasys of all time. Between the found family, spice, and world building i could not put this down.

I received an ARC of this title from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own and were not affected by the free copy.
Mab has what she wanted, both Estrella and Caldris under her command, and Estrella in Tartarus to get her a snake from Medusa's crown.
I've been waiting for this book for what feels like forever now, so the moment I saw it was available on NetGalley, I grabbed it. And I must say, I haven't been this let down by a book in a very long time. I went into this book thinking it was the last book in the series. Maybe that's my fault, I'm not a devoted follower on the author's social media accounts; however, no where on Goodreads, NetGalley, or her website was it listed that it was to be a SIX BOOK SERIES. And honestly, I'm very upset about it.
Once again, we spend the majority of the book traveling, just this time in Tartarus. That's the first thing I had an issue with. We have spent three books focusing on a new world, with a little bit of Fae (Seelie, Unseelie, Sidhe, etc) mythology, but suddenly we are tossing in not just the prison of Greek Mythology, but many characters from it (Kharon, Cerebus, Medusa, etc). I absolutely LOVE Greek Mythology, Greek retellings are some of my favorite things, but that hasn't really been alluded to up this point, so it felt very out of place.
We do get some good character growth from Estrella, she's finally accepting everything about herself, even the dark parts she doesn't want to acknowledge, and we finally, finally get to see her history, but that isn't enough to save this series for me. I'm exhausted with author's expanding their series so many times, I miss trilogies. I probably wouldn't have been so upset if there had been more advertisement that this was a 6 book series, but even on her FAQ's on Facebook, that was posted on December of 2024, so I don't know how long it's been like that.
Honestly, I don't know if I'll continue this series. This book was fine, but between the surprise 6 books and the length of time between book 3 and 4, I might be giving up. Only the future will tell, but at the very least, I'll be waiting for the series to be completed before I consider finishing it. I'll still recommend this series for Fans of the romantasy genre, but be forewarned that this is not the finale.

I currently am struggling to put together the words for how I feel right now. This book was so incredibly eventful all the way through and so much was happening keeping me on my toes a lot.
I really liked as well how there was a lot of Greek mythology in this book. It really enhanced the storyline!

WHAT SLEEPS WITHIN THE COVE.
OH MY GOODNESS ABSOLUTELY BLOWN AWAY! I was so freaking EXCITED for this book. I needed to know what was going to happen, and just wow!! I was absolutely engrossed with the story. Each page I read just kept me on my toes. There are so many twists and action. Caldris and Estrella pack a punch, and just seeing these two are no words of the awesomeness. I am so incredibly excited for the next one.

I’m so excited to see how beautifully these are being re-released. It’s one of my favorite series and one of the best enemies to lovers I’ve read.

Oh wow, how I loved this book. This story is action-packed and full of so many shocking twists. The writing is just so good. It seems like every book is better than the last. Estrella is developing into such a fantastic character. I was shocked by sone of the revelations in this book. Caldris is finally pulling his own and behaving like the being he is meant to be. This one definitely pulls at the heartstrings. I highly recommend this book and can’t wait until the next book!
