This book was a refreshing and insightful read👌🏽😌.
Susi Miller does a fantastic job of breaking down the challenges online content creators face when designing accessible learning materials.
She takes on the challenge of providing a holistic view of accessibility by first outlining an exhaustive list of disabilities and then demonstrating how effective online content design can address them.
The book takes on a comprehensive take on this matter and starts off by looking into essential accessibility guidelines and regulations, including W3C’s WCAG, ATAG, and the eLA framework, offering clear explanations and practical applications.
What makes this book particularly valuable is its structured and digestible presentation. Susi Miller uses images and real world examples to make complex concepts easy to understand and implement.
This is an excellent resource for instructional designers, educators, learning platform developers, and especially AI specialists working on agentic learning platforms that could either replace or complement traditional learning management systems.
A standout feature of the book is its consideration of both disabled content creators and end-user students, ensuring accessibility is approached from multiple perspectives.
If you create online learning content, this book is a must read! ✨
It’s packed with practical tips to help you design materials that are truly accessible and easy to use.
On a personal note, this book is a must-reread for me this year. As someone working in instructional design and learning platform development, I found it incredibly insightful, with great tips to apply to my own platform. Every chapter is packed with valuable insights, and I know I’ll be coming back to it again and again.
Highly recommended!

As a lecturer I had to read this book.
Admittedly, this is a very technical book and is best approached one sitting at a time.
It is the most detailed book that I had come across about designing accessible learning content. Any differences and difficulties by the learners are well established, thoroughly explained and the tools to design learning content for more diverse groups and many leaners’ needs and how to eliminate less accessible content are all in this book.
