I am not used to using the NetGalley Shelf App and today I was trying to look at the book and it is not shown on my App. I thought I downloaded to the app when I requested it, but I obviously do not know what I am doing with the Shelf app. I usually read with the Kindle app.

So I will not be leaving a review on Amazon and my other normal sites.

This is a beautiful book that I am sure would be fun to paint if experienced in it's physical form. The unfortunate aspect of reviewing it digitally is that it cannot be fully used as a coloring book, but the tips are still useful.

From what I was able to see in the Net Galley App this was a beautiful book that had truly inspired me. However I have reduced this rating because I was only able to see about a third of the pages and was unable to fully interact with this and use it to inspire and instruct me.

Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to read and give an honest review of this book.

This book was about the exciting opportunity to creatively use metallic paints in watercolor painting. After painting with watercolor paints for a few years, it is especially fun to come across different and creative ideas using paint.
This book beautifully gave instructions for projects from simple beginners to very advanced. The illustrations were lovely. The instructions were easy to understand and very straight forward. I can’t wait to try out the different projects in this great book.

This would make a great gift for people who enjoy cosy and mindful art activities - especially those who would enjoy painting nature inspired art while experimenting with metallic paints.

This was a beautiful and informative book! I just added metallic watercolor pallette so that I can try these projects out the seahorse and the fighting fish were my favorites.
Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for the ARC.

Metallic Watercolor is a step-by-step guide to creating shimmering flora, fauna, feathers and other unique and creative paintings using metallic watercolor paint. It's beautiful, illustrative and informative.

Thank you to NetGalley, Elisabeth Gotz, and Quarto Publishing for a free ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review!

I'm trying to teach myself watercolor right now and love the metallics/shimmery paints I've been seeing, so this book was right up my alley! It starts off with an intro on the basics (e.g. materials/tools + techniques) + offers a QR code for traceable designs. The projects + tutorials provide a great progression and are easy to follow.

There were unfortunately some formatting issues on this book that made it impossible to read ~33% of the pages, but from what I could read, I did really enjoy this book. (Knocking off a star for that and that alone. Hopefully it gets fixed!)

For some reason the app kept glitching with this book and the pages were black so every other page was hard to read. That being said, the pages I was able to read demonstrated some cool techniques that I’d love to try and test out.

This is a beautiful, nature-inspired watercolor book to encourage beginners, or for those looking to expand their repertoire to include the shimmering potential of metallic watercolor paint.

This comprehensive guidebook offers the necessary basics at the beginning of the book, such as color theory, traditional watercolor techniques, and care of various tools. The step-by-step guidance for each project is laid-out well and easy-to-follow, with gorgeous photos demonstrating the necessary techniques. As an additional extra there are downloadable sketches to offer a head start for each project.
This book would make a fantastic gift for anyone who enjoys watercolor painting.

Many thanks Quarto Publishing Group, Elizabeth Gotz and NetGalley for the digital review copy for review consideration.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for this ARC.

The download unfortunately has an error with a lot of negative pages that you are unable to read.

This seems to be a good introduction to watercolour painting but to be honest this is nothing new. I have seen these examples in so many books (I own many of these books) albeit with the artists own flair and of course with the addition of metallic paints.

Bit of a let down if you’ve ever brought any type of how to watercolour book before.

This was my first introduction to metallic watercolor. I like how the color wheel was introduced in the book along with other materials that a beginner can use to get started on watercoloring. Another thing to note is that the author also included a QR code for downloadable sketches, which is really great since I didn't have to start from scratch and just get into the projects straight away. The instructions were easy to follow. I like the variety of the projects included such as nature, animals, flowers, etc. Overall, this is a great resource for beginners like me who wants to explore metallic watercolors.

***I received a free advance reader copy via NetGalley in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are my own***

The instructions in this book were very easy to follow. I completed the very first project which, although it wasn’t stated, taught very important watercolor techniques that would be needed for later paintings.

I loved how each project was given a difficulty level and that there was a gradual progression of difficulty through the book. The author also gives the reader the freedom to choose their own colors instead of instructing them to follow their color choices exactly which was a refreshing consideration.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book and look forward to completing more projects in the future.

As a watercolour artist who LOVES working with metallic pigments, I was excited to pick up Metallic Watercolor by Elisabeth Götz.

The first quarter of the book is dedicated to the basics - the materials and tools recommended; basic techniques and so on. Where this book really shines, however, is in the tutorials and templates (available via QR code) that make up the rest of the book - from delicate metallic accents to gorgeous shimmering creatures, this book is all about *using* metallics and embracing the shine alongside matte colours.

I did have some formatting and image issues which should hopefully be resolved in the final version of the book, but on the whole it is a lovely book. I look forward to using the downloadable templates and getting out the metallic paints again,

~Many thanks to NetGalley for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review~

I love painting and colouring. I have struggled to use metallic watercolour in a way that will bring the best out of them. It is very difficult to get that metallic glow to stand out. And this book is perfect in showing me how to do just that.

Easy-to-follow, specific and step by step approach to using metallic watercolour. I do not need another book on this paint type and technique after this book.
The examples were stunning.
