This had so much going on plot-wise but still managed to keep it together. Recommend! Thanks to NetGalley, the publisher and the author for a chance to read this book.

I thought this book was so well written. The author, John C. Lukegord, did an excellent job with characters and plotting the story. I thought it was a heart thumping roller coaster ride. I was hooked from the beginning, and I could not put it down. I can't wait for more from this author.
Thank you Net Galley ARC and John C. Lukegord

John C. Lukegord does a fantastic job in writing this book, it had that Gothic element that I was looking for and was invested in what was happening. The concept worked well and enjoyed the use of Ireland, it was everything that I was looking for and enjoyed the way the characters were written in this. It was a strong start to the Haunted Trail series and am excited for more.

Oh dear, the description was interesting but. for me, the book a real let down in terms of gloom, doom, murder, bittiness and 'what on earths'. Really depressing without any frisson at all. I really struggled to keep going but gave up at about 25%. The very short sentences also felt 'off' is all I can say. Sorry but not for me. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an advance copy.

The Haunted Trail is a chilling and suspenseful dive into 19th-century Dublin, where a cursed woodland becomes the stage for family drama, unthinkable murders, and a desperate battle against evil. The story’s eerie atmosphere and inventive twists kept me hooked from the start, especially as Mick Patrican’s struggle to end the trail’s curse unfolded. I loved how the book masterfully blended psychological depth with a sense of foreboding—this one definitely kept me up at night!

Y’all, this book gave me chills! The Haunted Trail is like a gothic campfire story on steroids. Crazy families, brutal murders, and a cursed trail that seems alive? Yes, please! Mick Patrican is my new favorite underdog, and the way he takes on pure evil while the woods practically scream “don’t even try” had me cheering and biting my nails. If you’re into creepy vibes and dark twists, this is your jam. 🌲🩸👻
