A super cute early chapter entry for transitional readers! I appreciated the friendship between Earl and Worm and how well they were characterized given the limited text. Illustrations provided adequate visual support to help early readers understand the plot if they're missing words. Overall a solid transitional book and perfect recommendation for fans of Elephant and Piggie that are looking for that next step.

A very cute story that all students will be able to relate to. Wonderful illustrations make the story come alive for the young reader.

There are three stories in this book. The first story is all about Worm cleaning her house while Earl has a big mess. Worm suggests that she help Earl clean, but she ends up taking all of earls old/broken things and then her house becomes a mess! The second story is about finding a lucky penny, however, Early comes across a lot of misfortune. The third story was about staying awake all night to see the sunrise. I really liked the first story, but the second/third stories were missing a learning theme to them that I usually like with Earl & Worm.
Thank you to NetGalley and Random House Children's publishing for the advanced reader copy in exchange for an honest review.

A charming chapter book perfect for fans of Frog and Toad. With two lovable characters and adorable illustrations, this is a great book for beginning readers who are ready for longer texts.

This was an adorable beginning reader story. Sure to please fans of Greg Pizolli, as well as Emma Virjan, Kate DiCamillo, and Chris Van Dusen. I loved how the story related to real adult issues that kids may see in their home and the overarching message with a practical lesson.

I was previously unfamiliar with Earl & Worm but I will definitely look up the first book and keep an eye out for more additions to the series in the future. The story, characters, and format very much reminded me of Frog and Toad, which I also love. I also love when authors label chapters and have a table of contents in an early reader as I think it helps further expose young readers to most formats as they grow older. I also love how it shows the characters solving problems together, and everyone can have a "bad" day but it's also how you reframe it. Excellent early reader picture book!

Earl & Worm #2 is a cute compilation of three different stories. The illustrations are cute and the stories are brief enough to hold a young reader's attention. The stories focus on how one man's trash is another's treasure, an unlucky penny, and good times spent with a friend.
Thanks to Random House Children's and NetGalley for an eARC of this book for an honest review.
