The Ucky Mucky Duck is an adorable and funny tale that teaches kids an important lesson about listening to their parents. Little Duck’s misadventure in the muck is both entertaining and relatable for young readers, and the colorful illustrations bring the story to life. My favorite part was how it gently emphasized learning from mistakes without being preachy—it’s a story my kids ask to read again and again!

This book is quacking awesome! 🦆 The Ucky Mucky Duck had me and my little one giggling and gasping as Little Duck went on his messy adventure. It’s got everything—puddles, panic, and a big-hearted farmer rescue. Plus, it sneaks in a sweet lesson about listening to Mom (genius, right?). If you want a story that’s as fun as it is meaningful, grab this one! 🌟💦

My son was captivated by the pictures and all the different animals, he even found the hidden ones. The wording was very repetitive. Might be good for a child still learning to read.

Thank you for allowing me to read and review.

A really great short read for younger children, about always listening to your elders.

What a lovely children’s book! The little duck on the farm learns an important lesson in obedience he won’t soon forget. Small children will easily understand the story and enjoy the rhyming words and many animals to find. I love the perfect simplicity in these pages. I love that the author was only 10 years old when she wrote it. And I love the vibrant illustrations that enhance the story perfectly. Buy this book with a plush duck for the perfect gift for the little one in your life. I wish I could give it 10 stars!

This is a very simple book for little ones. It is one that you really need to read out loud to get the most out of rhyming mucky and yucky for the little yellow ducky. Nothing happens apart from the little yellow duck jumps into the muddy pond when his mum tells him not to. The fun comes from saying the words out loud and getting your little one to repeat them back to you whilst giggling. The pictures are well drawn and as there are so few words you can really get into what is happening and describing the pages of the farmyard scene. A book that you grout or quickly that is fun to read your tiny one at home.

We loved the rhyme scheme that comes throughout. I think this would be perfect for younger audiences, or young readers to read by themselves. The illustrations were really fun and bright and an enjoyable read.

This was a cute little book written by the illustrators daughter when she was ten years old. The illustrations are cute. The story itself is a good tale of why we listen to those wiser than us, which is a good story from a ten year old who may have learned that lesson the hard way, as the mucky duck did.

Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC!

This is a cute picture book about a little duck who does not listen to his mama and gets stuck in muck. The little duck I luckily rescued, and learns his lesson. My 3yo enjoyed the story and illustrations. The story was written by a 10 yo little girl but now she’s grown and having her own kids and her parents self published this book. I thought it was really sweet!

This is a cute story written by a little girl, and her parents are now publishing it upon the birth of her first child. This is so heartwarming, but the story is also really touching with wonderful pictures.

I thought that this was a really fun book!

It was well laid out and the majority of the pages had clear text which made the book easy to read and the story was easy to follow as it has a lot of repetitive words to help learning.

The illustrations in the book are great and really help to bring the story to life. I liked the messaging as the little duck wouldn't have got so mucky if he had listened to his mummy duck!

It would have been a higher rating but I am not a fan in children's book of the text going over the images/illustrations as it does in this book. The text should be a good size, nice, bright and on a clear background - just my personal view from reading and teaching my daughter to read herself.

It is 4 stars from me for this one - highly recommended!

The Ucky Mucky Duck learns a lesson about listening to his mom after getting stuck in the muck (that she warned him about, thank you very much). I felt this story as a parent, as we give warnings about things and kids still seem to have to experience it for themselves. It's a funny rhyming story with cute illustrations that hold a kiddo's attention.

Thanks to the author and NetGalley for an eARC of this book for an honest review.
