Prior to reading this, I was only slightly familiar with Issa Rae, because my best friend loves her work. I have somewhat mixed feelings on this memoir. Issa Rae is really funny, if you like her style, which is a bit abrasive at times. Some of it worked for me, and some of it didn't as well. I also thought the way she talked about food could be massively triggering, as could her discussions of weight. That's not necessarily a bad thing as it is her experience, but fyi. I related to some of it, but some aspects also made me cringe. It was a good listen, but if you're triggered by body image or ed stuff, this might not be a good choice.
