This was like a study companion for the Bible, for Christians and would-be Christians alike. It was inspirational and interesting, though I thought it was a bit too focused on the church rather than our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

Thought provoking and easy to follow. This book keeps with the structure and style of Beginnings. Revolt is another great study that allows readers to better engage with the Bible on a personal level.

This series is such a great resource to help your studies of different parts of the Bible. They make a great, quick understanding of the important I formation and how it relates to each subject.

With Revolt, Louie Giglio offers a powerful continuation of the Jesus Bible Study Series, combining theological rigor with heartfelt reflection. While some areas could benefit from further contextual exploration, the guide’s strengths far outweigh its limitations. This study is a vital tool for those yearning to understand the brokenness of the world and their role in God’s redemptive story.

The Jesus Bible Study Series is designed to lead you through the six main acts of Scripture:
Beginnings
Revolt
People
Savior
Church
Forever

Revolt is the latest bible study from Passion City Church. This is the second of a short series of six studies that cover six acts to get you from Genesis through Revelation. Each act (bible study) has six lessons. Each lesson is broken down in pretty much the same way. You have an intro or welcome section that introduces the context for that specific acts theme, followed by one or two questions that are thought provoking and helps you get dialed in on thinking about the specific subject. The next section is Read where scripture is presented and explained followed by two questions again. The third section is Reflect followed by two questions. The fourth section is a specific topic followed by two questions. The fifth section is a specific topic still based on the theme of that particular act. The last section is a Close section that again is followed by two more questions. This whole thing is set up to take place over six weeks, six days each week, and one day off, which I could see being the night you meet up in a small group to discuss what you’ve learned over that week’s information and what you got out of it. The very last part is a leaders guide. The leaders guide doesn’t have more questions, rather it has helpful tips for small group leaders for preparation, structuring group discussion time, as well as group dynamics.

Revolt is broken down by the following themes:
The Fall
The Curse
Sin Nature
Completely Broken
Systems of Evil
Glimmers of Hope
Leader’s Guide.

I can see this as being a way to help an individual studying by themself, in a small group, in a discipleship group, and so many other ways. While it’s short in length, it covers smaller section of the bible to help one understand the main themes of the bible. Very well done and highly recommend it!!

*I received a copy of this book from NetGalley. This review is my own opinion*
