I love Sharon Sala's series Jubilee Kentucky so when I found out she had started a new series I couldn't wait to read it. Sunset is book one of the Crossroads series. It did not disappoint. It is the perfect small town romance story. Sonny is a champion bull rider who was injured in a rodeo and died twice on the operating table. He survived, retired from bull riding and inherited a ranch in Crossroad Texas. It is love at first sight with Maggie, a waitress who is the first person he meets in Crossroads. Their relationship grows as they get to know each other and new opportunities arise for each of them. Thanks for @NetGalley for the ARC of this book. I really enjoyed it and am looking forward to the next book in this series.

Sonny Bluejacket is a rodeo man who was bucked off a bull and was critically injured. He died twice on the operating table and survived. He was given a gift. He was living with his brother and his family on his ranch, when he received word that he had inherited a ranch in Crossroads Texas. . He stopped at a dinner he was familiar with and the person he knew still owned it. There he met Maggie.. Follow their journey to see where it goes and also how with his gift, he saves his family. A GREAT READ. Looking forward to more in this series

Sharon Sala is hands down one of the best storytellers currently writing romance. Her latest book Sunset is another fabulous addition to her body of work. Former bull rider Sonny Bluejacket is lucky to be alive. He's living with his brother and family and working horses for others in the area. One day he receives a big surprise. An inheritance and a way to start the next chapter in his life. This begins Sonny's journey to Crossroads Texas and his meeting with local waitress Maggie Brennen. Maggie has been dealt the short hand in life but she keeps moving forward. After getting stranded in Crossroads, Texas, she has found friends and built a good life for herself. She would love more but has grown accustomed to accepting what she's been given in life. Sonny and Maggie are perfect together but there's a lot of bumps along their way to their HEA. I really loved this story. It made my heart smile. It was told from multiple POV and is very sweet with a bit of heat. I look forward to reading more stories set in Crossroads.

ARC REVIEW
Liked the premise of the book. The mystery and the romance are all there to enjoy and Sharon Sala is enjoyable.

Sharon Sala brings us the story of two souls who find each other in a cafe. We meet former bull rider Sonny Bluejacket on his way to Crossroads, Texas to claim his inheritance from a friend on the circuit. He meets waitress Magnolia Brennan when he enters The Yellow Rose cafe when he gets off the bus. Sparks fly off with that one encounter. Will they take that chance with each other even though the past has not always been kind to them? What happens when their past catches up with them? Will they trust each other or will doubt tear them apart? Follow along as you see how Sonny and Maggie react to what life throws at them.
Sharon Sala brings us the story of love, hate, revenge, and family. She brings us to the community of Crossroads, Texas which reminded me of the community of her Blessings series. Here we find those who mostly look out for each other with a few bad apples. We get to see how Sonny and Maggie help each other and how their past shaped their present and how the choices they make today will affect their tomorrow. Will they make the choices that keep each other in their lives or will what life throws at them be too much to handle? See what happens to Sonny, Maggie, their family, and their community.
I have read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. I would like to thank NetGalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for this privilege.

Sharon Sala's new series kicks off with Sonny Bluejacket and Magnolia Brennen. Sonny is a bull rider who survived a trampling and Magnolia is a waitress who survived a rough start to life. They meet and soon love blossoms. Life isn't easy for either or them and they still have some trials to go through together before they can start their happily ever after.
Sala is a master at characters and these are no different. I loved Sonny and Maggie from the start. Their story was compelling so it was a very fast read. I didn't put the book down.
5 stars!

Sunset by Sharon Sala (Crossroads #1) 4.5 stars
A new small town romance series by Sharon Sala is an exciting event and this one does not disappoint. Sonny Bluejacket is a world champion bull rider that suffered a career ending injury in a rodeo. After dying nearly dying twice on the operating table, he survives the long rehabilitation and is living with his brother. He is surprised when a lawyer contacts him to tell him that he is the sole heir to property near Crossroads, Texas. The first person he meets in town is Maggie Brennen, a waitress at the Yellow Rose Café. You could say that romance blooms, but every rose has thorns and in this story there are bad people and outright evil to overcome.
I found this book to be reminiscent of Ms. Sala’s older novel when she was writing as Dinah McCall. The Native American themes and mysticism are part of the background of this book. I had a great time reading this book and look forward to the next book in this series.
Thank you Netgalley and SOURCEBOOKS Casablanca for this ARC.

3.5 stars.
A beautiful romance full of uplifting feelings and lots of magical moments, “Sunset”, by Sharon Sala, features two good-hearted people who have gone through hardship and finally find their HEA.
I loved the leads, their innate kindness, and the characters in general. It feels as Sonny and Maggie were destined to be together.
Sonny’s talent (magic?) with animals is an important dimension of his mystical personality, which contemplates other features. He’s also a hardened, pragmatical person, and all this facets result in an alluring hero.
Maggie is an interesting heroine, too: strong, sensitive, and with a secret talent, too.
In general, I appreciated a certain solemnty in the tone but some parts I found too melodramatic.
I also found the story and the dialogue a bit repetitive sometimes.
A pleasant read where fate plays an important part.

This book had a little suspense in it but it mainly followed 2 characters. It was set in a small town that I could easily picture. There were some interesting characters and it was an enjoyable book. Thank you to net galley for an advanced readers copy.

I really enjoyed this book. It was a fast and easy read. I love the fact that Sonny was protective over Maggie. I liked her actual name. I look forward to reading the next book that Sharon Sala writes. I'm grateful that netgalley and the publishers let me read this in exchange for an honest review.

A nice quick read.
The main characters were intriguing and their connection was strong. The town and it's people were pleasantly full of chaos and drama.
I did struggle with the pace of the book but overall, it was a comforting small town cowboy romance. Always hits the spot.

Sunset is the first book in what I’m hoping will become a long running series. Sonny Bluejacket is an ex rodeo star who moves to Crossroads, TX after inheriting a ranch. He meets a local waitress, Magnolia, and something pulls them together. Before long they are falling for each other, but of course there are obstacles to overcome.
I have read all of Sharon Sala’s books, and I have to say that Sonny is probably my favorite male character she’s ever written. The story was fast paced but never felt rushed. I read it twice within the first two days. Books like this, authors like this, are why I love to read.

A cute romance between Sonny and Maggie set out in East Texas where the sunsets are beautiful. A lovely story of two people coming into their own, as well as their supporting family and adopted family.
Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC

This book grabbed me from the start and I couldn’t put it down. I loved Sonny and Magnolia and their story. A little bit of suspense and a lot of love. I loved reading about the horses also. I didn’t want it to end and I was glad to see a hint about their future. I wish I had more stars to give. Loved it.

This book is pure small-town romance magic, the kind that wraps around you like a warm summer night and makes you believe in love all over again. Sonny and Maggie’s connection is instant, but what makes it shine is the slow, steady way their relationship deepens with trust, encouragement, and a quiet kind of devotion that feels so real. It’s a story about healing, about finding where you truly belong, and about love that stands its ground, even in the face of past demons. Absolutely charming.

I honestly couldn't help myself. I dug in as soon as I got this one and just now finished it. I couldn't wait to write my review for this one!
So very good and I believe that it's a good start to an awesome series? I hope so!
Sonny and Maggie were magnificent! I loved them both immediately.
Especially Sonny "sigh" Maggie hit gold when he found her. I love a good love story. He will be my new book boyfriend lol. My hero.
There's just a bit of suspense to keep you turning the pages to see what happens next. I love that about Sala.
She always knows how to keep her readers engaged throughout the story with some faith added in too.
There's always got to be one bad apple whether family or so called friends.
This one left my heart feeling full and satisfied. It will also be my favorite by Sala.
Love finds you in unexpected places and this one was no exception.
5 stars for a job well done! Excellent writing and for making this story realistic.
I highly recommend.
My thanks for a copy of this book. I was NOT required to write a positive review. All opinions expressed are mine.

Sunset by Sharon Sala is a gripping romantic suspense that keeps you hooked with its mix of danger and emotional depth. The characters are relatable, and the chemistry between the leads is strong. While the plot is engaging, it occasionally feels predictable, and some parts could have been more developed. Overall, it’s a solid read with just enough suspense to keep you interested. A 3.75-star—entertaining, with a few predictable moments but still enjoyable.

Sharon Sala once again delivers a compelling, heart-tugging story with Sunset, blending romance, suspense, and the deep emotions that come with love and second chances. From the very first chapter, I was pulled into the world of complex characters, small-town charm, and a narrative that keeps you invested until the very end.
One of the things I always appreciate about Sala’s writing is how effortlessly she balances emotional depth with an engaging plot. The characters in Sunset feel real—flawed yet endearing, strong yet vulnerable. Their journey, both individually and together, is written with so much heart that you can’t help but root for them. The romance is beautifully developed, never rushed, making every moment between them feel earned and genuine.
The suspense element adds an extra layer to the story, keeping the tension high and making it impossible to put the book down. Just when you think you know what’s coming, Sala throws in a twist that keeps you on your toes.
Overall, Sunset is a captivating, emotional read with a satisfying blend of love, resilience, and suspense. If you’re a fan of small-town romances with a dash of mystery, this one is a must-read.
