The book hooked me from the beginning. I loved the chapter ending cliff hangers. I was completely drawn in wanting to know how the cop killings were related to Ryle’s past. This was unfortunately the first book in this series that I have read. I would recommend starting at the beginning as there were several references which I believe were from previous books.

Final Victim by Gregg Olsen is a fast-paced psychological thriller. The discovery of a murdered detective leads to a series of twists and turns that pull Detective Megan Carpenter into a dark and deeply personal case—one that reawakens a past she has spent years trying to forget.
The novel begins with the shocking death of Detective Susan Dupont, whose body is found under mysterious circumstances. Megan Carpenter, the story’s lead investigator, is immediately called to the scene, where a disturbing detail—a piece of metal lodged in the victim’s eye—sparks memories of a traumatic event from Megan’s own past. The suspense builds quickly, and when another death occurs shortly after, it becomes clear that the two cases are connected. As Megan and her trusted partner, Detective Ronnie Marsh, delve deeper into the investigation, they uncover a chilling pattern of murders stretching back years, each one linked to a long-forgotten promise made to a deadly killer.
The author does a good job of creating a complex, flawed heroine who is not only grappling with the mystery of the murders but also with her own unresolved traumas.
The narrative of the text is filled with twists that keep the reader guessing, and just when you think you've figured out the killer’s identity, Olsen pulls the rug out from under you with yet another shocking revelation.
Overall, Final Victim is a high-stakes thriller that delivers both heart-pounding action and emotional depth. While some plot points may feel familiar, the intricate character development and tight pacing make this a must-read for fans of psychological suspense.

AMAZING! But i wouldn't expect anything less from Olsen. The creepiness was on point! I love how fast paced this was and how short the chapters are. Some things I could figure out but that didn't take away from the suspense and thrill. And the ending! Job well done!

This is the first book I’ve read from this series and Megan is certainly a different detective. From bad things in her past that have happened to her and bad things she has done. Lots of twists and turns and a surprise ending. Now I need to catch up on the other books in this series.

Thank you Bookouture for this arc provided by NetGalley
A gripping page turner that follows Megan, who now works as a cop solving crimes whilst trying to escape her past life and a stalker from the past.. This was a fast paced novel with short chapters. Even though there were parts that I guessed, it didn't take away from how much I loved the ending! This certainly won't be my last read for this author!

Rylee, now living as Megan, is a cop determined to bring justice to others after surviving a traumatic past with her serial killer father. Wallace, a mysterious and menacing stalker, re enters her life as bodies begin to surface.
Who is behind these murders? And more importantly, who is Wallace, and what does he want from Megan?

Gregg has done it again! I raced through this pacy thriller in two days and it was a wild ride. I had no idea where the author was taking me, but I knew I wanted to follow…..⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This book follows Megan Carpenter as she confronts a past she thought was buried, both physically and within herself. Police officers, retired or not, are being hunted. But why? The twist at the end will leave your jaw on the ground. Gregg Olson has done it again with a spectacular thriller that leaves you wanting another book. Highly recommended!!!

Creepy and disturbing with likeable characters. Gregg Olsen truly masters this genre. An immersive page turner!

A decent psychological thriller with some twists and turns.
Dark, creepy and well written.
Gregg Olsen is a talented author if this is your genre.
My thanks to netgalley and the publisher for my copy.

I like the way Megan has gone trough an evolution from being a loner, fighting for a good cause but going about it the wrong way, to a person who lets others in, still fighting for a good cause but going about it the right way now.
Of course you caannot change 100%n because some characteristics cannot be changed and once in a while she needs to be Rylee again a in small or when she thinks it's necessary, a big way.
I can see her point of view. Sometimes to make bad things go away, there is only one way to do it...
And now it's time to put an end to the ghost form the past who keeps hunting her. She will finally look them in the eye, but who is it she will come face to face to?
One person was high on my list of suspects.
I had picked the correct name through my marvelous detective work (lol) and I was very happy, but my happiness did not last for a very long time...
I was shocked by the ending and am now counting the days until I know more, because I can hardly wait.
Great book with an ending that left me flabbergasted. 5 stars
Thank you

This is a good psychological thriller with quite a few twists and turns. A great plot with interesting characters. This book is part of a series but could easily be read as a stand alone. Thank you to net galley for an advanced readers copy.

This was so good!!! A creepy and disturbing novel but with a very likeable and capable police team! The plot remained scary even though I did guess a few things! The conclusion was a clever and intriguing end! I loved it all! This was my first novel by Gregg Olsen, and won't be the last! An immersive page-turner!
I received a digital copy of this novel from NetGalley and I have voluntarily written an honest review.
