I could not wait to read this i was very intrigued how it was going to work and wow it was done brilliantly it was such a unique story with such wel developed characters. It was a fast paced thriller which had me on edge throughout I did not see many of the twists and turns coming which I love in a book. I found it difficult to put my kindle down I wanted to know how it was going to end and wow what a shock ending I loved it and everything about this book. It was my first book by this author that I had read and it definitely won’t be my last. I will definitely be recommending this amazing book to everyone thank you to netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this.

Wow. This compelling book had me reading long into the night. The tension was high and no sooner had I recovered from one twist than another knocked me sideways. I had no idea who I could trust so it was no surprise that Claire felt she had no one to turn to. Although, having said that, I felt that her actions were reckless in the extreme . She repeatedly chose finding her husband and the danger involved.over looking after her confused, frightened daughter and I found this extremely frustrating. This is why I knocked off a star, because I think that part of the story was a bit far-fetched. I loved the tantalising glimpses into the mind of the prisoner and the fact that we had no idea whether it was happening past, present or future. The identity of this person shocked me to the core. This is a standalone read and one which had me searching for the author to find out what else she had written.

With the help of Adam, her ex and a police officer, Claire begins to dig into Tom's past to try and find out where he could have gone but she discovers a lot more than she bargained for, does she really know the man she married?

Eight Years of Lies is the new fast paced thriller by this author which I devoured in a couple of days. It's a gripping read, told from the perspective of Claire and regular snippets from an unknown person, which kept me on the edge of my seat throughout, with Claire experiencing numerous pitfalls in her journey to try and find Tom, determined he would come home if he could, which makes the truths she discovers all the harder to deal with. This is a tense and intriguing read, with some very unreliable characters, great twists along the way and what an unexpected ending!

Imagine you are scrolling through social media and you come across a targeted post with a picture, the caption asking for help finding a missing man. Seems interesting enough, intriguing maybe... But now imagine that the picture was of your husband and your daughter. The poster someone unknown to you. What the heck would you do... Call him, I guess. But there's no answer...
And then, later, the school calls cos your husband has failed to collect your daughter. It appears he has vanished... This is what is happening to Claire and Tom... Together for 8 years, Tom has always been a bit camera shy and shunned social media. But Claire just thought he was being private so when she entered that photo into a competition, she didn't realise what she was starting. Cos it appears that Tom has secrets... and they are big ones...
Obviously the police won't help as there is no sign of foul play and he is a consenting adult. Claire is therefore forced to investigate herself, to get the answers she needs. Luckily, help comes from an unlikely source...
I a a big fan of this author having read and loved pretty much all her books. I especially love her Hotel Hollywood series which you should really check out too if you haven't already!
This book was no exception to that. I really felt for Claire, all the confusion and betrayal she was feeling around husband Tom. I was also impressed with her detecting skills as she followed all the clues to try and find out the truth. Yes she made a few weird decisions but there is no handbook to how someone should act in the same situation! And yes, ok, some was a wee bit predictable, but I read so many books of this genre a year that it's rare for me not to second guess... That said, the majority of the twists and turns, the secrets and lies, were all delivered with expertise and came at exactly the right moments for maximum impact. And the ending, when we eventually got there, was both credible and satisfying. All in all, a cracking addition to an already well impressive back catalogue. Roll on next time. Claire is (somewhat) happily married to Tom and they have a young daughter named Isla. Claire becomes concerned one day when Tom fails to pick up their daughter from school. She becomes even more alarmed and confused when a picture of Tom and Isla appears online. But she was not the one to post it. Another woman has posted the photo claiming that they are her family not Claire's. As time passes and Tom still does not come home, Claire sets out on a mission to find him. But as she searches, more and more secrets about Tom come to light making Claire wonder if the last eight years of their life were all a lie.
This novel is a great domestic / psychological thriller that drew me right in. Filled with twists, lies, and secrets, I was fully engaged. The characters felt pretty well thought out and the pace, well a bit on the slow side, was still engaging enough to keep me reading.

Desperate for answers Claire tries to get hold of Tom to no avail and when he doesn’t return home from work Claire begins to panic. She begins her own investigation and finds she didn’t really know her husband at all and the last eight years were built on lies.

This was a steady read that keeps you reading as you want to find out why and what Tom is hiding, definitely worth a read if you like domestic thrillers. I did however find it somewhat repetitive and could have done with being about 100 pages less than it is.

I was hooked by the premise and hoped the title wasn’t going to have given everything away.

Unfortunately this book doesn’t live up to the premise, it’s quite slow, not written with enough atmosphere and struggles to keep you gripped to the ending.
I felt bored in places which is not what I’m used to with a thriller.

What would one do when they find a have you seen this man poster of their husband? I would probably lose it. It was a roller coast read and quite interesting and nothing was what it seemed.

I really enjoyed this fast paced story, it was full of surprises. I liked the multiple points of view as it kept me engaged. I would recommend this to thriller fans.

I thought the pacing of the book was a bit slow. It dragged on in the middle but the last 80% really caught my attention. I did not see the twists coming especially the one at the end. Enjoyable thriller read.

8 Years Of Lies is a new thriller by Lisa Hall.

Claire and Tom have been happily married for 8 years. But when Tom doesn’t pick up their daughter from school and fails to come home, Claire starts questioning everything about their life together. Adding to Claire’s doubts about Tom is a Facebook picture from a stranger of Tom and their daughter, asking for help tracking down the strangers husband and child.

I was really hooked by the storyline of this one and was trying to power through it to find out what was happening. It was a slow start for me and I found the beginning quite repetitive but it picked up and started to evolve at a decent pace. I did find a few plot holes that didn’t add up (they’ve never been abroad but it talks about them going on a cruise?) so I did get a little frustrated at times.

When her husband Tom goes missing and the police aren’t interested, Claire is determined to find out what’s happened to him. As she starts digging into his past she realises she doesn’t really know her husband and the last eight years have been based in lies.
The story was intriguing and it made me want to keep reading to find out where Tom had gone and who he really was.
The ending was completely unexpected and the reveal very well done.

I really enjoyed this book and would definitely recommend if you are looking for a read that keeps you turning the page.

Imagine finding out that your husband has a secret life and you find a photo of him and your daughter saying that they are missing. Claire is facing this and is determined to unravel the mystery. I was literally glued to my kindle with this book because I had absolutely no idea or clue of how to solve this mystery and I was desperate for answers. I could feel Claire's frustration, desperation and anxiety because I felt the same. The plot is one that takes you in and doesn't let you breathe until the end. Now the end! Omg! It is so surprising and at first I didn't know what to think but it is truly a jaw dropping twist!

I've read all of Lisa's books and always enjoyed them. This one just wasn't up to her usual standard. The premise was good and it started off well enough, but it lacked something. It was fairly lacklustre and the repetition drove me mad, was it even proofread?!

I did finish it and it was a decent story overall, but it wasn't uo to Lisa's usual standard.

I'm pretty sure I'm going to be in the minority with this one, but whilst I found it an OK, solid enough read, it didn't excite me at all.

I found it really slow to get going, it took an awful lot for me to stick with it in all honesty, but I did, hoping for some big plot twist that just didn't happen as much as I was expecting.

The book is centred around Claire, married to Tom for eight years, and with a young daughter. For the past couple of weeks, Tom hasn't been his usual calm, collected self. He's been snappy, glued to his phone, and now he hasn't arrived to pick his daughter up from school. Claire has also received an online message asking why 'her' husband and 'daughter' are in a photo with her.

Claire goes on a mad, wild goose chase to find her husband. With no answers to any of her questions, can she find him and find out just who he really is?

I did quite enjoy the hunt for Tom, I found the mystery quite engrossing for a short time and the uncovering of clues really investing. I did find it quite hard to believe that she'd leave her young daughter at home, traumatised, whilst doing this, though!

The premise was promising, but, for me, it just wasn't believable or convincing, and I just have to have some relatable connection to really get into a book.

The ending wrapped everything up well, but I had part guessed the twist.

One big bug bear of mine is repetition, and it was in bucket loads throughout the book, with Claire constantly reiterating to you as the reader and then to another character within the book .... arrrgggghhh. It's really not needed!
