The very talented Azizi Tuere creates another story that our world needs, this story is stunningly perfect. In this story we get to follow a new friend around his day while he discovers the many ways and things that make him a genius. This book is all about encouraging children to love themselves and to discover the uniqueness that makes them so wonderful in so many ways. It is about creativity, problem solving skills and self-discovery. This book shows us the many ways children learn, like through books, music and discovery. They learn they are a genius because they are themselves.
This book is so wonderful, showing us many ways to discover and learn, and that the “adventure continues every day”. I love the diversity of this book. I love the powerful message it sends to our little ones. Even adults need to hear this story. I love the theme encouraging children to find what makes them so amazing and uniquely themselves.
Enjoy this adventure with your little ones. Share it with others too. Perfect gift for little ones.
A sky full of Stars for me

I'm a Genius Because I Am seeks to encourage children to celebrate their uniqueness and their creativity. I love the way that creativity of all kinds is highlighted and applauded, and I feel it would have been better titled I am Creative Because. I loved the illustrations and it was refreshing to see people of colour as the only rep in a picture book.
Though the title is misleading (I admit that I read it because I was curious about what kind of genius it focussed on), I believe this book is inspiring and validating to the diversity of creativity.

‘I’m a Genius’ is a wonderfully affirming book that shows kids the many ways in which their special skills and talents manifest themselves.
Filled with gorgeous illustrations, the book takes us on a journey of discovery with a little boy as he tries to discover what exactly makes one a genius. Along with him, we learn genius takes many forms – both tangible (engineering, cooking and chemistry) and intangible (crafting imaginary worlds and thrilling tales). And together, we learn that every single one of us is a genius just the way we are.
‘I’m a Genius’ is a great choice for story-time and book-clubs. I would recommend buddy-reads since some children may find the longer, more complex words challenging.
