I read this ARC for an honest review
All thoughts and opinions are mine
A newish author to me
I absolutely loved this
Very easy to read and devoured this in 1 sitting

Helen Hardt delivers another seductive, addictive story in her world of dark secrets and forbidden desires with I Am Sin. This book is everything fans of her Steel Brothers and Follow Me series have come to love—intense chemistry, high-stakes drama, and characters that grip your heart and refuse to let go.
As always, Hardt's writing is rich and evocative, pulling you deep into the emotional turmoil and sensual tension from the very first page. The dynamic between the main characters is electric—equal parts tender and dangerous—and the slow unraveling of their secrets kept me completely hooked.
What makes I Am Sin especially compelling is how it balances the deeply erotic with genuine emotional depth. It’s not just about heat (though there’s plenty of that!); it’s about redemption, identity, and the blurry lines between right and wrong.
Fans of dark romance, vampire mythology, and stories with morally complex heroes will absolutely devour this book. Helen Hardt proves once again why she’s a queen of the genre.
Can’t wait for the next one!

So I thought I was getting a romantasy, my bad! It's a spin off of Hardt's Steel Brothers series but I was totally able to follow it no problem! If you can get past the fact the hero is named Dragon and refers to himself a few times as "Sin" then this was good! It's fast-paced and mysterious, I didn't really connect with Diana, she kinda annoyed me by constantly trying to prove she wasn't a spoiled rich girl but then lamenting about, frankly, rich girl problems. The book ends on a cliffhanger and it all just felt very abrupt, I think it would have benefited from having everything resolved in one book! I will of course need to read book two to see what happens! Both narrators did a very good job!

Happy to read Diana & Dragon's story as I was not yet ready for the Steel Brothers Saga to end. I Am Sin is classic Helen Hardt. The book is a great mix of storyline & spice. Well done!

Like I need the the next one right away and notice it's on kobo so I hope it goes to the plus very soon... I loved Dragon and Diana I think they made a wonderful couple and the way it ended definitly made me want more of them

I can’t get over the fact that the MMC’s name is Dragon. I find that so odd. The story was confusing and I personally didn’t vibe with the characters

I enjoyed reading this book. I thought the author did an good job with the characters and story line. I was hoping for more depth, but it wasn't a bad book. I will admit the downside was that there was a cliffhanger. I have to wait until the next one comes out to see what happens. I plan on reading more from this author.
Thank you Net Galley, Victory Editing, and Helen Hardt

This book had a great plot with intriguing characters. I’ll definitely be looking out for more from this author.

This book took a while for me to get fully into.
I don't know if it was meant to be written this way, but Diana is the sometimes seems to be the snob she's LOUDLY protesting not to be. Especially at the beginning of the book. She just blames him for being strongarmed by her sister into letting him stay with her.
Dragon, is not at all what I was expecting. His darkness was mostly generational trauma, substance abuse, and a sullen disposition. His inner dialogue does not always match what is happening to the other characters because his viewpoints on Diana are lovely, and he cares about her and wants to be around her because of the fact she has her life together and she is a positive person.
On the opposite side, these two do find their way into a connection even though Dragon still isn't ready to just let down his guard completely. The book does end on a cliffhanger so be prepared to wait for the next book!

I found this book to be confusing. Dragon, the male character, states he is sin but not sure how. He is also down on himself...like all the time, and it got very tiring. No one would hang out with a friend who talked negative about themsleves all the time. It just brings you down. In addition, Dragon was rude. He said it was due to his upbringing but no anyone can over come that. A simple thank you goes a long way. He talks about taking too much from others (friend paid for rehab, living with Chole) but he never says thank you! The cliffhanger was just seeing something small on the ground and a gasp...not much excitement. If there was less of Dragon complaining and more focus on what happened in his childhood and his sister, Griffin, this book could have easily been completed in one book.

This was a strong start to the Steel Legends series, it had that element that I was looking for and enjoyed from this type of book. The characters were everything that I wanted and enjoyed going on this journey with them. Helen Hardt has a strong writing style and can't wait to read more.

I love this author! The books always grab me right from the beginning, so good! I couldn't put this book down! Thank you for the ARC!

I enjoyed the premise of the book and the story itself was realistic without being too raw. But, the fact it left on a cliff-hanger was a no-go for me. I didn't see indication of it being part of a series and I hate to be left hanging.

I Am Sin is a moving romance about a rockstar, Dragon, and aspiring architect, Diana, who are 'forced' to become roommates when Dragon leaves rehab. Readers can expect a suspenseful, spicy story that will leave you begging for book 2 in the series.
Dragon Locke...yes that is his real name...is part of a band who is doing his best to overcome past trauma and his battle with addiction. When he leaves rehab, he wonders what his next steps will be. But his best friend's wife tells him that he has a place to stay with her sister, Diana. Diana is sweet, charming, and has her sh^t together. With a new job that she will be starting in a few days, she believes getting along won't be a problem. But when they meet, chemistry fills the air and their strong personalities begin to clash.
Diana and Dragon begin to find their rhythm and enjoy each other's company learning tidbits about each other along the way. Diana quickly realizes that Dragon is closed off and faces his own demons, but she is hopeful that he can overcome any obstacle he faces. Dragon appreciates everything Diana is doing and also can't help but be attracted to her, but he doesn't want to put down his walls just yet.
When Dragon's past meets the present, will he be able to trust Diana with his heart? Can they ever be more?
Reading Helen Hardt is a comfort of mine because she always finds the perfect balance between heartbreaking and heart-warming. Her writing sweeps you up and takes you on a journey with her characters, and I was hooked reading about Diana and Dragon. When I realized I had reached the last page, I mixed with emotions; I was thrilled because it was another 5-star read by one of my favorite authors, and also left with anticipation, wondering how quickly I could get my hands on the next book in the Steel Legends series. Highly recommend I Am Sin!

I DNF'ed this after finishing Ch. 10, 25% of the way through. The cover had me really intrigued, but the writing feels very stilted. The style is very much telling rather than showing, and it feels...forced. There is no difference between the FMC and MMC tone/perspective. The MMC is supposed to be dark and "sin" but it just seems like he has trauma? Being an addict isn't sinful. Maybe I didn't read enough to see what is so dark about him. The FMC feels fickle and wishy-washy.
Maybe I need to read more of the book to "get it", but after 10 chapters it didn't seem to be getting much better. I do my best to give books a fair shot and I also understand that my opinion is just that, my own opinion, but still.

I Am Sin by Helen Hardt brought us back to the world of the Steels, this time, with a focus on Diana Steel and the mysterious and dark, Dragon Locke. Without a doubt, the chemistry between these two is off the charts and you could feel the sparks ignite with the words on the page. This was a great addition to the Steel saga and for anyone who is looking for another steamy read, this is for you!

I enjoyed this book. It was a fast paced entertaining read, and finished it quickly. It has a bad boy rockstar MMC, and a good girl architect (but also wealthy heiress) FMC. He's had a lot of trauma in his past, and is a recovering addict. He's in her brother-in-laws band, and they ask her a favor to let him stay with her for a short period. So you have the forced proximity, slow burn, and some spice. There were some parts that were alittle cringy, like how he repeated a few times "I am sin" or that he'd "take her to hell." While he did have a dark past, he didn't seem to be that dark of a character to me.
Toward the end of the book, things from his past start to come back to haunt him, and he's on a quest to find answers. It ends with a slight cliffhanger. I wish it could've been wrapped up into one book, but I will definitely have to check out the second one in this duet when its out.
Thank you NetGalley, Author Helen Hardt and Waterhouse Press for the opportunity to ARC read for my honest review.

The cliffhanger. Whew, that was a doozy of one and I wish I would have known prior it was going to be one because I need the next book! I really enjoyed Diana a lot in this one and loved how hardworking she was given her circumstances. Excited for the continuation of their story.

Like omg what a read absolutely fantastic from start to finish dragon has a lot of emotional things from past to deal with I felt like I could feel all of his emotions.
I can not wait for the next one

I liked it! the story was good with a good plot. I didn't realize going in that this was a two part series but that's ok. I like Diana, she's hard working even though she's wealthy. wants to prove herself in the architecture industry. Dragon has had a messed up life and I feel for him. he's an addict, and trying his best. this was good but it was not my favorite by her. I'm hoping the second part gets better.
