CATHERINE DOES IT AGAIN OMG!! Ahhh, I absolutely loved this book so so much! I was literally hooked from the very first page, and she had me hanging on the edge of my seat the entire time! I didn’t want to put this one down, and I love Ridley & Colt so much! And Tater & Bowser! This was amazing & I could not get enough.
This book had me feeling all the emotions but in the best way. Ridley might just be my favorite FMC ever. Catherine Cowles always writes strong heroines, but Ridley’s resilience and the way she turned her sister’s disappearance into a purpose that brings peace to others truly stole my heart.
As for Holt… let’s just say he started out as a bit of a turd 😂, but his growth and redemption made me fall for him just as much. Watching Ridley and Holt’s partnership blossom into something so beautiful was everything I wanted and more.
Audiobook wise, Andi Arndt and Sebastian York brought Ridley and Holt to life in a way only they can. Their performance was flawless, capturing every ounce of heartbreak, hope, and love this story holds.

Why is every new Catherine Cowles book my new favorite 😍 I’m just so obsessed with her. This book was perfect. It had EVERYTHING I wanted and it had the signature Catherine Cowles twist. Yall please add this to your list to read- she truly deserves all the hype.
The narrators did an amazing job at bringing this story to life!
Two of my favorite hobbies are reading romance and anything true crime. Put it them together and I am one happy girl! This book was different than Catherine’s usual fare, which I deeply appreciated; having read her entire backlist, I needed something different from her! I’m so glad to have read this story.
This book was so so good! It definitely shot up to one of my favorite Catherine Cowles book! I loved the mystery aspect and how she was investigating it. I thought it brought in the typical romantic thriller aspect that Catherine is known for, but in a different and refreshing way. I thought this was absolutely fantastic :)
Romantic suspense has quickly become my favorite book genre and I don’t see that changing anytime soon. Catherine Cowles has changed reading for me. I love everything she writes, All the Missing Pieces included.
From the sweetest sisterhood to devastating loss, then banter and groveling, to found family and finding home, this book has it all. I love the balance of suspense and mystery with romance and spice. It flows naturally together in the best way!
Read this if you’re in the mood for…
- healing each other
- who did this to you
- small town meddling turns to found family
- fur babies
- hurt/comfort
- grumpy/sunshine
This is a beautifully written story of healing and love and it’ll be living rent free in my mind. Not to mention I had absolutely no clue about the big reveal at the end!! I’d like to issue a formal apology to Ezra bc I was so suspicious and he was just trying to make good coffee lol
Here are a few of my favorite things…
- Tater can do no wrong lol
- the basket of organic groceries as groveling? Yes please.
- the way everyone is patient with each other and gives space for comfortable silence. I love it
- Em and Ridley’s friendship. I hope we get another book in this world so we can see more
I could go on and on. I HIGHLY recommend!!
So, like, romantic suspense is a thing?! If this book is good representation of that, this might be my new favorite genre! Oh my gosh, the mystery, the danger, the intrigue! I was hooked in early on and I was happy to let it reel me all the way in.
When Ridley's sister disappeared, she started living double. She had to experience the world twice as much, in honor of the life her sister didn't get to live. She lives life out of the back of her van, traveling the country recording true crime podcasts. She's good at her job because she can empathize with the grieving family's and has a bone-deep interest in finding sickos and getting justice for their crimes.
Of course she has been researching the disappearance of her own sister, and she believes it wasn't just an isolated incident. Her next project is investigating the failed kidnapping of a woman Ridley believes was her sister's killer's first victim. When she rolls into town, she finds the victim's brother is a sheriff, and overprotective at that, which won't make things easy for her.
First of all, the construction. When an author crafts her characters to fundamentally fit, and then throws in a dramatic question that not only justifies but also inherently creates conflict for story between them, it's like friggin magic, and Cowles has done it in All the Missing Pieces.
Come on! A crime podcaster and a cop? Both with family members who were victims of the same type of crime? Their goals don't only align, they're exactly the same, but there's so much room for tension and conflict and that's👏🏼what👏🏼we👏🏼live👏🏼for👏🏼
It's spicy too, did I mention? *blushes*
We've got an active investigation, plenty of suspects, old secrets resurfacing, hot bods, sexual tension, and sparks a-flying. There is real danger, protective instincts, and cute animal sidekicks with quirks that make you go aww. Seriously, I loved every word, and I can't wait to read more exactly like this. Everyone drop me some recs!
I am so grateful I got to listen to an advanced copy of this title through the publisher and netgalley in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are strictly my own.
Wow that was an amazing story! I loved the premise, the intrigue and the characters. Once I started listening I was hooked from the first page to the last. There was so many ups and downs and mysteries within this story it was riveting. It was also heartbreaking at the same time. I’m really looking forward to more stories from this cast of characters. The narration was excellent too. It brought the story and characters to life. Highly recommend this book and author..
True crime podcast fans are going to eat this up! All The Missing Pieces by Catherine Cowles is bone chilling suspenseful romance at its finest!
I love Catherine Cowles and her books but All The Missing Pieces takes her supsenful stories to another level and the narrators made it so much better. I felt like I was on pins and needles. The narrators truly did an amazing job and I thought that they added so much more suspense, tension and upped the emotions in the book. it felt like I was listening to a true crime podcast and wondering what would happen next. the audiobook adds so much tension that makes you feel uneasy and unable to stop listening. I think thrillers are so much better on audiobook and this was an absolute hit for that reason alone. The audiobook and narration on this story is 10/10 amazing and I think Catherine picked perfectly for it. I love that this book takes the mystery as first storyline and we see mystery solving, plot twists, and it is shocking and surprising. Her mind takes us to places we would never imagine or guess the culprit. Catherine always manages to throw me for a loop but I also really liked that this story touches on victims and how they live past that. What it's like to live day to day after surviving something horrible. It shows us what its like to live with guilt, grief and how sometimes being afraid holds us back but also giving a voice to them and listening to their stories and doing them justice and what its like to feel helpless. With all that there's a romance blooming between. A podcaster and a sheriff, a dynamic duo you would think but they couldn't be more opposite and start off as enemies and slowly become unlikely accomplices to help others and what later forms into a friendship that blooms into love through all that which shows there's always light at the end of a tunnel. A compelling story that takes you on thrilling emotional roller coaster but so good!
the tension and mystery in this book was absolutely perfect. ridley and colt are not shy when it comes to clashing and their chemistry is strong. and to nobody’s surprise, the suspense and plot in this story will absolutely SUCK YOU IN and make you forget time as you read.
here’s to hoping we get more books in shady cove. This book felt very different than other books of Catherine’s and I loved it. The character development for both FMC and MMC was incredible.
I absolutely binged this book!!!
My favorite Catherine Cowles book to date. Ridley is the confident, driven and fierce FMC that we all aspire to be while Colt is the grumpy, protective and broody MMC that is ready to protect everyone he loves. These two have the best meet cute I have ever read in a book! Their chemistry and surprising connection are what makes for a perfect romance.
Then there is the suspense! It is so expertly weaved through that you don’t realize you are gathering clues from the first pages. I didn’t see the culprit coming but loved how everything played out!
The audio on this is serious top notch. This is my second time reading this book and I love how I caught new pieces and clues. The twist still just hits me in the gut (even though I knew who it was). This is both a top read and top listen of the year for me for sure!
Catherine is a master at writing a story that will totally consume you! From the minute this book started until the very end, I was wrapped up in a story that I just had to know how it ended.
Ridley and Colt have some amazing banter. Ridley stands her ground, and she has so much strength that it is inspiring. Taking tragedy and building it into something special to help others. I loved her tenacity in this book!
Colt is the quiet sheriff that you have to love his grumpiness. I adored him, and the way he was always there to protect the ones he loved. The way he takes everything onto his own shoulders shows a lot of strength. But only one can bring him to his knees.
This book is wrapped with a beautiful, suspenseful bow. I could not figure it out... And I love it when Catherine still shocks me. She does it in the best ways.
Andi and Sebastian could not have done a better job with this audio. The way you get sucked into the story and the emotions while listening is magical! These two are a couple of my favorites, and it is because I always feel like I am in the story while listening. I love it when the narrators bring it to life so well that it can play out like a movie in your head.
Andi and Sebastian are the best at what they do.
I am obsessed already with this series, and it has just begun!
LET ME START BY SAYING - ALL THE STARS!
Catherine always has the best nicknames - Law Man and Choas? I swoon.
The trauma bonding and "who hurt you" are so real throughout this whole book. Also the SUSPENSE
I truly hope we get more books in this world. I all of a sudden want a 3 legged cat named Tater.
I also want to start listening to more true crime podcasts - I love the whole premise of the story and how personal it all became for everyone.
- Hurt/comfort
- Grumpy/sunshine
- Enemies to Lovers
- Forced Proximity
I have so many highlights but some of my favorites are ...
"In small towns, everyone's a stalker."
"Sleep Chaos. No one's going to hurt you here. I'd make sure of it."
"What you do, it's something worth fighting for."
"Haven't you figured it out yet, Chaos? You've had me breaking all the rules since the day I met you."
"Colt, you helped me find all the missing pieces. Even the ones I didn't realize I needed.
This is hands-down the best romantic suspense book I have ever read! I was intrigued and interested in the mystery elements. I enjoyed getting to know all the characters. The FMC and MMC had sort of a hate-to-reluctant friends-to-lovers thing going on. I will 100% be picking up the other books in this series. I cannot wait for the next installment!
Ridley Sawyer runs a podcast on missing people. Her sister was taken ten years ago, and her body was never found. She has discovered that there are 23 cases connected to her sister's case. She has come to town to speak with a girl she believes may be connected to her sister's case.
Sheriff Colter Brooks is determined not to let her talk to his sister. He wants her to leave town. During her research for the podcast, she is stirring up trouble in town. When Ridley is attacked, he takes her to his home for protection. It seems the assailant is now intent on killing Ridley and is close to succeeding.
This is a great mystery, suspense, and romance book. There are two narrators, and they do an excellent job.
All the Missing Pieces was my first Catherine Cowles but I will definitely be diving into her backlist!
After losing her sister to a cold case disappearance, Ridley is set to help others put together the missing pieces of true crime cases. She solves them best in the small town cities themselves, setting her now in Shady Cove. She believes this town and Emerson's case are the missing puzzle piece she's been looking for to solve her sister's disappearance. She won't get by without the assistance of town sheriff Colter, who truly doesn't want her there. But they will have to come together to solve the case when threats come, with someone not wanting to be named the killer.
I let out the biggest gasp and then searched the killer's name in my Kindle because boy was I NOT guessing that person. The beautiful thing about All the Missing Pieces was that it kept me on my toes and made me NOT want to put it down because I needed to solve the case. I had several guesses of who could have been the killer and while some were a "nope" right on, there were others that made sense until the reveal was put out. While I liked the romance aspect with Riley and Colter, I felt more invested in the mystery aspect and wanted more of that when the romantic parts came out to play. I am curious if Cowles will continue with this story and their story and who may be up next in the cast of characters she crafted. Those who enjoy small town romances, think Tarah Dewitt, or mysteries like Ally Carter's will enjoy All the Missing Pieces. If you want an immersive experience, the audio read by Andi Arndt and Sebastian York, is a solid choice however; not necessary to dive into this tale.
Catherine Cowles delivers a gripping and emotional ride with All the Missing Pieces, a mystery-psychological thriller that hooks readers from the very first page. The story begins with a heart-wrenching tragedy: Ridley’s twin sister goes missing, a loss that shapes her life and sets her on a path of relentless determination to uncover the truth—not only for her sister but for other cold cases as well.
Ridley’s quest for justice takes her across the country, eventually leading her to a small town where she crosses paths with Colter, a man whose past echoes her own pain. The discovery that Colter’s sister may have been the first victim deepens the plot, bringing layers of tension, mystery, and emotional resonance. As their stories intertwine, the narrative builds in intensity, leading to revelations that are as satisfying as they are surprising.
Cowles has a talent for creating characters that feel authentic and compelling. Ridley’s resilience and Colter’s strength make them a dynamic pair, and their shared struggles add depth to their connection. The pacing is perfect, balancing suspense and emotional beats that keep readers invested throughout.
This novel is not just a standalone story; it’s a world begging to be expanded. Ridley’s dedication to solving cold cases would make an incredible series, offering endless opportunities for new mysteries and character growth.
With its rich characters, masterful storytelling, and a plot that keeps you guessing, All the Missing Pieces is a must-read for fans of thrillers and mysteries. Cowles has crafted a tale that lingers long after the final page.
Rated 4.5 Stars
All The Missing Pieces was a beautiful story. It was also a compelling read, one that was difficult to put down and also difficult to read at times. It snatched my attention from the very beginning and kept it to the very end. I loved it. I loved listening to the narrators, Andi Arndt and Sebastian York tell this story, bring these characters and their emotions to life as well as the setting. They did an amazing job. Both are masters of their craft and and that showed in the way they used their voices expertly to ring every emotion, every twist, every turn to maximum effect. They were an absolute joy to listen to. I very highly recommend this book and can't wait to read the next I the series. I loved this community and the secondary characters.
*Edit to add audiobook review*
I have listened to and enjoyed narration from both Andie Arndt and Sebastian York in the past and this audiobook was no different. They both do a great job of using their varying tones and inflection for different characters and to convey emotion. I definitely prefer Arndt’s male voices to York’s female voices, but neither is distracting or something that pulls me from the story. I would easily recommend this audiobook to anyone asking for my input.
Apologies to Broken Harbor on its short-lived reign as my favorite Catherine Cowles book. It’s already been replaced by this one.
I’m a true crime podcast/tv consumer through and through, so books that include that element are always going to call to me. There is a curiosity to how it’s going to be handled because in reality, there is such a thin line between respectful and thoughtful production and exploiting pain and suffering caused by the darkness in the world for the sake of “entertainment”. It is handled so well in this book. Ridley is the ideal kind of podcaster who has genuine motives and intentions behind the work she is doing. She’s careful and considerate in her approach to the people she seeks out and the overall case she’s covering. She has experienced her own loss that provides her a place of empathy and understanding to operate from. Her own story and emotional tie to this case really helped drive the urgency and feel the deeper desperation for answers in the plot.
As for the romance part of the romantic suspense that Catherine Cowles does so well, I love a man who goes from reluctantly protective to “who did this to you?” to “never again” BUT also respects and believes in a woman’s ability and need to handle things for herself as well. Colt is all of the above. He is a protector by nature, and when it comes to Ridley he tries to fight that even though he’s destined to give in. There is so much that connects them and draws them both in. I love the way they interact and I love that Ridley doesn’t back down from him. He loves it too, and it creates a healthy, respectful partnership where he’d love to shield her from everything but knows he can’t and chooses to have her back while she does what she needs to do instead.
I can’t move on without mentioning that I deeply admire Emerson and hope this is more to come in this universe that might give her her own HEA with a certain handsome bartender/her brother’s best friend.
Thank you to NetGalley, Sourcebooks Casablanca, and Team Catherine Cowles for the eARC, and thank you to Dreamscape Media for the ALC in exchange for an honest review.
