All the Missing Pieces by Catherine Cowles is a heck of a ride! The more of her romantic suspense stories I read, the more I try to figure out who the bad guy is going to be, but admittedly, this one surprised me! The twist at the end had me literally speechless and literally gasping in shock to the point my family asked me what was wrong! Haha.

I loved Colt and Ridley were a lot of fun, but also had their serious sides. I loved that they complimented each other in such a way that they really kept you on your toes. I also really enjoyed that they didn't really play games. They were honest with each other and kept it real.

I loved Shady Cove and hope there will be more stories in this lovely little town! The characters are so fun!

There is something I’ve come to realize about myself and my reading preferences. While I love nearly all the books I read within the romance genre, there’s nothing quite like a romantic suspense story to leave me obsessed and captivated! And within that sub genre, there are a few authors that I put on the highest pedestal, one of those being Catherine Cowles, who in my eyes can do no wrong.

With All the Missing Pieces, her new release, she proves me correct once again, delivering a compelling, suspenseful, realistic portrayal of a small town sheriff and a true crime podcaster who meet — and through the story, experience a transformational relationship, from adversary to tentative friendship to so much more.

Ridley and Colt are just the latest in a long string of main characters of Catherine’s who definitely will stay with me. FMC Ridley is incredibly strong and determined and compassionate, especially given the trauma she has been through, which I won’t spoil. At the same time, Colt is making his way in the world on a path that he hadn’t originally chosen, but that life circumstances drove him to choose. Together, they offer a remarkable story, complemented by a host of characters that I couldn’t help but fall in love with as well. Most notably, Emerson, who is Colt’s sister and so central to Ridley‘s purpose in this story. Her own strength and courage was commendable and a little heartbreaking at the same time. And of course Ridley’s cat Taters, the real star of the show here. 😉

🩵 Small town romantic suspense
🩵 Frenemies-to-lovers
🩵 Grumpy/sunshine
🩵 Forced proximity
🩵 Past trauma
🩵 Dual POV

I don’t want to say more than that so as not to spoil this amazing story, but just know that Catherine has delivered another winner. I am so looking forward to more in the Shady Cove world!

Oh, and for what it’s worth, as always, she completely bamboozled me when it came to the villain in the story. I don’t know how she does it, but literally every time I’m wrong. And literally every time, I love it. 😉

I absolutely loved this story and devoured it as fast as I could. I took notes on every little thing, and of course every person was a suspect. ATMS was brilliantly written, and as a fan of true crime podcasts, I loved that this was centered around one. 'Sounds Like Serial' is definitely a podcast I would listen to were it real.
Ridley is a true crime podcaster looking for answers in her sister’s disappearance and murder and ends up in Shady Grove. Enter Sheriff Colter Brooks who wants nothing to do with the attention she brings to his town, but when things start happening he’s forced to help out.
I was drawn in with the mystery and intrigue of this story. I loved every moment of my time with Ridley and Colt, and I can’t recommend All The Missing Pieces enough.

This was everything you love about a Catherine Cowles novel - small town suspense where everyone is suspect, protective heroes who fall hard for the FMCs, heroines who have subtle strength for enduring, and secondary cast of characters to love.

What I loved most is the True Crime Podcast angle. It added so much to what I already loved about her books. Through the couple, Cowles tackles the ideas of guilt and grief, and how those things shape you as you carry them through life. More than that, though, she showed that an HEA is possible, that you can carry them with you and honor those you love but holding them close in the big moments you will experience after their gone. Through Emerson, we got to see that the human spirit can endure and be happy, even if it looks different than what was planned when younger.

It’s a must read, for sure and one of my fave Catherine Cowles books!

📖 BRAVOOOO, Catherine!! This is def in contention for my fav CC book! I absolutely loved the storyline, our two MCs and their back story, the furry friends, and the small town of Shady Cove and all of its characters! Ridley Sawyer and her lovingly vicious cat,Tater, roll into Shady Cove so Ridley can start investigating a case for the newest series on her podcast, Sounds Like Serial. This podcast is close to her heart because she lost her twin in an unsolved case and she wants to find closure for others, and maybe one day for herself. She soon meets the Sheriff, Colt Brooks, who happens to be a handsome and broody grump who continues to get in her way. After a very close call with the possible unsub, Ridley packs up and moves in with Colt and his sweet, old dog Bowser. The chemistry they had from the start amps up, and when Colt learns what Ridley has pieced together he dives in to help her with the case and vows to protect her. A little enemies with benefits by night and partners on the case by day…
Chaos and Law Man were absolute perfection together and their attempt at boundaries and rules was cute lol. I fell as fast for them as I did for Tater and her tooth hugs! Catherine really put together a great story with this one! I loved how all the townsfolk loved Ridley from the start, to Colt’s frustration haha! And obviously the villain was expertly revealed in true CC fashion! I only hope we get more in this town, maybe for Emerson’s HEA!

🎧 Andi and Sebastian really sounded amazing in this audio! Andi is a top fav and she always slays, and this was no exception. She embodied Ridley and fully captured her persona—her strong will, independence, adventurous nature, sense of justice, and compassion. She of course nailed the emotional portions of the book! And Andi had a pretty amazing male voice as well! SebYo was absolute perfection as grumpy Colt! The casting here was just spot on. I truly can’t imagine anyone else playing this part! He nailed it!!

OMMIGOODNESS - a romantic suspense podcast trope? say no more. this was so special from beginning to end. ridley was the most perfect, fearless, sassy FMC and colt was frustrated with her right from the beginning. the audio was great for this one, and i could never thank @catherinecowlesauthor enough for this amazing package and ALC💕

Catherine will always be my grab for romantic suspense. She keeps me guessing. Just when I think I have something figured out, she’’s like haha, guess again! I love how in this book though she was bringing in the suspense in the form of a true crime podcaster, just a classic set up for the storyline to thrive off of.
Ridley and Colt are the perfect characters and everything you want in a grumpy x sunshine romance. The town and setting gives you goosebumps and times, and you are left on the edge of your seat thought reveal parts of the story.
As always, Catherine introduce side characters we can not WAIT to know more about, because she hooks us and never lets us go.

If Catherine Cowles writes it, I’m going to read it AND I’m going to love it 😍

All the Missing Pieces was yet another fantastic book, where the balance of suspense, spice and sweet moments was perfection 🤌

Ridley (FMC), the host of true crime podcast “Sounds like Serial” visits Shady Cove, wanting to speak with Emerson, the first victim of a suspected serial killer. Unfortunately for her, Colt (MMC), the Shady Cove sheriff and Emerson’s protective older brother has zero interest in allowing her to do so

*cue banter, eye rolls, growls and tension*

Ridley is a total badass. Driven by the loss of her sister she travels across America (in a Kombi) investigating cold cases with her trusty sidekick, her three-legged cat

Colt is the grumpy protective hero we all love to read about. He’s carrying immense guilt around his sister abduction and doesn’t need Ridley, who he’s insanely attracted to of course!

Chuck in some lovable friends, kooky locals and plot twists and you have a great book 👏

I highly recommend you add All the Missing Pieces to your TBR now! I started with the ebook, then switched to audio - highly recommend the audio too, which features dual narration by Sebastian York and Andi Arndt

Thanks Catherine for the advanced copy 🥰

Ridley Sawyer host of true crime podcast Sounds Like Serial investigates cold cases in hopes of finding answers for families. She comes to Shady Cove for a new story that is personal to her. There she meets Colt, the grumpy town sheriff, and he is not happy with her poking around. They immediately get off on the wrong foot, but as much as they may want to hate each other they have a lot more in common than either of them initially thought and together they might finally be able to find the answers they’ve been searching for.

Okay this was SO GOOD!! I could not put it down! Once I started it I read it straight through because I just needed to know what would happen next! Catherine is so good at writing engaging captivating stories and this was no exception! I was hooked the entire time reading! One thing about Catherine’s books is she is truly amazing at twists and turns that you don’t expect, for this book she had me thinking the bad guy was anyone but who it ended up being lol. Jaw drop moment for sure! This book was thrilling and exciting while also being beautifully written tackling the complex emotions of grief and loss. It was all done so well!

I really loved Ridley she is so strong willed and full of life! Her personality is so fun and bright even after going through what she has endured. I loved her strength and determination so much! Colt was grumpy and kind of a jerk at first, but he is also fiercely protective of the people he cares about. As he got to open up more he was also very kind and caring to Ridley which I loved to see. They really made such a great pair! I also adored the furry friends! Tater and Bowser were too cute! Tater was incredible lol I love her and her sassy personality - tooth hugs and all!

“Haven’t you figured it out yet, Chaos? You’ve had me breaking all the rules since the day I met you.”

“We’d be playing with fire.” “Then let’s watch it burn.”

“Colt, you helped me find all the missing pieces. Even the ones I didn’t realize I needed.”

“It shouldn’t have been possible for chaos to be so calming, but it was. She was.”

“He understood the colors I painted my world with because he spoke the language of my pain.”

I listened to the audiobook and it was great I really enjoyed the narration both Andi Ardnt and Sebastian York were perfect for the characters! Thank you so much Catherine, Sourcebooks Casa, Netgalley, and Dreamscape Media for an ARC and ALC! 🩵

A Gripping story that combines romance and mystery, and talks about an important topic: the kidnapping of young women and how to find the kidnapper.

This just might be Catherine's best work to date! I was absolutely blown away by All The Missing Pieces.

Catherine yet again delivers an incredible plot and story arc with engaging twists and turns that made this book impossible to put down. Our MMC Colt was the grumpy sheriff and protector of my dreams while Ridley our FMC was strong, spunky, and beautifully complex. The two of them together were enemies to lovers perfection.

Ridley is in Shady Cove investigating a series of crimes for her podcast. She gets a rough start to her research when she has a less than ideal encounter with the local sheriff on her first day in town involving her van, Tater the three legged cat, and the town animal advocate. From there Ridley and Colt have to learn to trust each other if they want to unravel a series of crimes that impacts both of them.

I was on the edge of my seat through the entire story and the conclusion was absolutely perfect. If you have been wanting to read a book by Catherine All The Missing Pieces is the perfect place to start as one of her only stand alone stories!

I’ve said it once and I will say it again. Catherine Cowles writes romantic suspense like no one else & this one just might be my new favorite!

All the Missing Pieces is a standalone story & it’s a MUST READ. If you love enemies to lovers and romantic suspense, this one is for you!

Ridley is a true crime podcaster, even with the darkness she uncovers she is a ray of sunshine. Always looking for the good in others and the silver lining in every situation. Ridley secured her spot at my favorite fmc Catherine has written. The strength and positivity of resonated with me and I know I will continue to think about her character.

The story follows her investigation into cold cases of women having been kidnapped and/or murdered. Ridley has a deep connection to this specific string of cases and she will stop at nothing to find justice for all of the women affected by the monster responsible.

Ridley’s research has brought her to Shady Cove where she meets the tall, buff and handsome Sheriff Colter Brooks. He’s damaged, but has a protective instinct a mile wide and a filthy mouth… what more does a girl need?

Colt is Shady Coves Sheriff and he takes his job very seriously. He’s never been the same after the traumatic kidnapping in his town 10 years ago. The guilt of his failure to protect the town has warped the way he sees the world around him. But then a little ray of sunshine rolls into his town with her little hippie van & crazy cat. She changes EVERYTHING. Colt was a goner from the moment he laid eyes on her.

Colt’s character broke my heart in so many parts of this book but his brokenness only added to the charm. Obviously I am a sucker for a damaged hero.

I can’t say enough about this book. The character growth was so beautiful. Ridley’s positivity was refreshing and it was such a great reminder to us all. No matter the trials you face, it’s always possible to look for the good.

“Law Man” and “Chaos” have my freaking heart.

& I once again incorrectly guessed the villain. Maybe one day I’ll get it right.

Audio note: Sebastian York is exactly the voice I would’ve picked for Colter. Andi Arndt did a great job as Ridley! These narrators did such a great job bringing the characters to life. So, if you’re an audio person this is a good one!

Thank you Catherine Cowles for the opportunity to read & listen to this advanced copy. It was truly an honor!

Dramatic ending that I definitely did not see coming!

All The Missing Pieces is a grumpy/sunshine, small town, romantic suspense that really keeps you guessing! Catherine Cowles wrote a good romantic mystery. I enjoyed the characters and the dynamics they go through. I love Ridley’s tenacity and determination. Colter is prime example of the grumpy hero of the story. This book is definitely for the readers who like true crime. All The Missing Pieces was an enjoyable read. I am hoping for more of Emerson and Trey, their characters really intrigued me. I listen to the audiobook and thought the narration was good.

I look forward to reading more from Catherine Cowles. I definitely recommend this for others.

All the Missing Pieces was an entertaining and sexy romantic suspense listen. The story kept my attention and had me guessing who the big bag was pretty much up until the end. It was fun to see Colt and Ridley go toe to toe and then see their relationship shift and change as they let down their walls. The whole town was one giant found family and it was hilarious how they teased Colt when he was being ornery and stubborn, especially Trey. Ridley was a great heroine and I loved that she didn't wait around to be saved. I also thought the trauma and grief from the events in Emerson and Ridley's pasts was handled really well. I'm really looking forward to more books in this series and I'm hoping the next one is Emerson and Trey's book.

Andi Arndt and Sebastian York are always great together and I enjoy listening to their performances. They're able to voice a variety of characters and accents distinctly and I never have issues figuring out who is speaking. I did feel that they were a tad too mature sounding at times, but this didn't impact my enjoyment of the story.

This was an absolute amazing read!! I love Catherine Cowles writing so much. All the missing pieces kept me hooked the entire time. I kept trying to guess who the villain was!! This book was incredible! I can’t recommend it enough

Gah! I LOVE a Catherine Cowles book so much!! She just has the romantic suspense nailed. The mystery is amazing every time. I’m always guessing until the very last minute!

And the romance side is 🤌🏻 Ridley 😭 I love her. She’s so special. She takes her job as a true crime podcaster incredibly seriously and she’s so loving and caring even after everything that’s come at her in her 27 years. And that includes one grumpy Law Man, Shady Cove’s very own grumpy, hot sheriff. And while Ridley has turned to see the positives after her past, Colt has used it as a shield. And he’s none-too-pleased when Ridley rolls into town pushing at one of the small towns cold cases.

But the way these two push and pull ?! I love it! I need more 🤣😭

Thank you so much Catherine Cowles and Dreamscape Media for an ALC! Andi Arndt and Sebastian York are amazing and some of my favorite auto-buy narrators. They truly bring the story to life and perfectly capture Ridley and Colt! I have my deluxe paperback copies preordered and a spot on my shelf ready for the amazing book!

All thoughts are my own, I really love Catherine Cowles 💕

Audiobook Review 🎧
Narrated by Andi Arndt & Sebastian York

No one does romantic suspense like Catherine does!! I’m always blown away by her twists and turns, it puts me on high alert the whole story! I always feel like I’m part of the process and checking suspects off. This is definitely one of my favorites by her. I’ve always been a true crime girly, and this was done SO WELL! If you’ve ever listened to the podcast CounterClock and Delia the host, that’s who this reminded me of!

Colt being so stubborn and grumpy, yet clearly enamored with Ridley.. I was so giddy over watching this over protective sheriff slowly lose it. Him and Ridley were so freaking good together, I cannot get enough of them!! I loved how their stories unfolded, and how every two brought them closer together.

And okayyy this narration.. WOW! These two have always been my favorite narrators, but they really nailed this one!! It felt like I was right there with them on this journey. They brought this whole story to life, I just know I’ll be listening to this again!

Ridley Sawyer is a true crime podcaster, traveling the country with her 3 legged cat named Tater determined to find justice for families of cold cases who never got any, all the while battling her own demons. I loved her willingness to fight for what is right, and her fierce determination to find the truth no matter the cost. When she heads to Shady Cove to cover a story that may be connected to her past, she finds more than she bargained for when she meets Colt Brooks, your typical, grumpy small town sheriff...

I love romantic suspense, and I thought this book was great! It is equal amounts true crime mixed with great grumpy/sunshine romance with some spice. The mystery/cold cases kept me guessing, and I could not put this one down! The twist at the end was crazy, and I truly did not know who the killer was going to be. 😱

Am I surprised by how much I loved this book? Not at all. Catherine Cowles has delivered a romantic suspense that had me questioning everyone, rooting for the happy ending of the two main characters, and laughing at the antics of a three-legged cat. To say I was hooked would be an understatement. I could not put this book down.

Ridley Sawyer hosts a true crime podcast, and is in Shady Cove looking for answers about an unsolved case. The townspeople have tried to move on from what happened and don't want her digging up the past. Thinking she is there to cause trouble, the town Sheriff, Colter 'Colt" Brooks, steps in to keep her at bay. Ridley has a personal connection to the case and refuses to go away until she gets the answers she seeks. Colt is closely connected to the case, and as he spends more time with Ridley, he ends up helping her find all the missing pieces.

I loved the angsty, slow-burn romance that developed between Ridley and Colt. The grumpy/sunshine and enemies-to-lovers dynamic was delicious. They had amazing chemistry, and I loved their banter. Ridley and Colt bonded over shared trauma, and I loved witnessing their growth. Ridley was independent, free-spirited, and confident. Colt was more difficult for me to connect with, but he had a huge heart. I loved how protective he was of the people he cared about. All the Missing Pieces perfectly balances emotion, romance, and suspense. I loved everything about this book and can't wait for the next one. Law Man and Chaos are everything!

Narration:
Andi Arndt and Sebastian York performed this audiobook using dual-style narration. Their performances were fantastic. Andi and Sebastian are an amazing duo who brought this story to life in the best way. They were the perfect voices for Ridley and Colt, and conveyed every emotion elicited by their journey. This truly was a wonderful listening experience, and I highly recommend the audio.
