All The Missing Pieces is the first installment in the Shady Cove series and it was a highly entertaining and extremely engrossing tale.
The suspense, the romance, the friendship and the unexpected twists and turns all kept me glued to the story and unable to put it down.
Ridley Sawyer's twin sister vanished one night and she's since been traveling the country covering cold cases for her true crime podcast and hoping to one day find justice for her sister.
Her search for answers take her to Shady Cove and right from the start we are pulled into the story as she is introduced to the town's inhabitants some of whom are not welcoming.
She clashes with the town's sheriff Colt and I enjoyed the antagonistic relationship between these two and seeing how his view of her changed as the story progressed. The chemistry was undeniable and I loved seeing their connection grow with each passing chapter
The suspense kept me at the edge of my seat and at no point was I able to guess who was the villain. There was a fun cast of secondary characters who were lovable and provided hilarity to helped balance out the story.
This novel was intriguing and addictive and I enjoyed every minute of the heart pounding suspense mixed with the emotional storyline and the swoony romance. I would highly recommend it to lovers of romantic suspense.

I listened to the audiobook which was narrated by Andy Arndt and Sebastian York
They did a fantastic job giving each character their own voice and adding so much emotion to the narration. Their voices complimented each other and they brought the story to life making the listening experience an absolute delight.
It is NO secret how much I love CC’s writing. So when I say that this is my new favorite of her writings.. you know I’m serious! Yall, Catherine has COMPLETELY knocked it out of the park with this one! The banter, the story, the setting… I’m in awe of CC and her ability to completely draw me in from chapter one to the epilogue. Not to mention her enemies to lovers are *chefs kiss*!
Falling in love with Ridley and Colt was as simple as breathing and I am seriously wishing that we could just have a whole series about them and their amazing detective skills!
The narrator was wonderful! The voices brought you into the story as though you were there!
Chaos and Lawman - Fasten Your Seatbelt!!
Intense, engaging, incredible characters, relatable storyline, will draw you in and not let go until long past the final page.
What have I just experienced? Because you don’t just read or listen (I did both) to this story. You become a part of it, and feel for the situations and characters. O.M.G.
A tripod cat, multiple memorable canines, small town attributes of characters and news traveling fast.
Full naming, tooth hugs, life-changing events, daily choices, and so much more.
Definitely a must-read. (must-listen).
When I got the ARC for All the Missing Piieces, I nearly jumped out of my seat. Catherine Cowles was my most read author of 2024 so when I got a chance to read her traditionally published book, I was delighted. She is a master at the suspenseful romance. This book has everything smalltown romance, enemies to lovers, fantastic, romantic suspense. I loved the story of a true crime podcast getting caught up in her own mystery. There were many twist and turns, and I was truly surprised by the end! I hope there are more books to come in this series.
Additionally, I was also given a audiobook copy and I really enjoyed the narrators. So whether you’re reading or listening to this book, definitely add it to your 2025 list!
Thank you so much #Netgalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review

This book was absolutely amazing, Catherine Cowles never fails to deliver a perfect blend of suspense and romance. This was much heavier on the mystery than many of her books I've read, but it was a really nice change. Every plot twist had me surprised and trying to guess where the story will go. The characters all felt so unique and the plot was wrapped up really nicely. Narrators were picked perfectly too.
Absolutely stunning! Catherine once again made me feel like I knew who the bad guy was only to be wrong! What a ride what a journey! I loved every minute of it!
For someone who has read quite a few Catherine Cowles books, this new standalone was a fun and unexpected surprise! This story maintained her small town setting, but something about it just felt different from her previous works… in a beautiful way!
With the dual POV, we are able to dive in to both Ridley & Colts past traumas - while following their journey as they figure out the mystery behind a string of attacks Ridley has been following for her podcast.
As always, I was completely shocked at the end, and Catherine Cowles will maintain her crown as my romance with a side of murder queen 👑
The narrators were top notch and flowed perfectly with this story!! Thanks so much to the Catherine Cowles team and NetGalley for the opportunity to review these advanced copies!
Thank you to Netgalley and Dreamscape Media for the ALC.

Catherine Cowles is my go-to author for romantic suspense. She understands that ratio of romance to suspense that I need. All the Missing Pieces is another 5 star read.
Ridley is a true crime podcaster with a dedicated following and a tragic past. When she gets a lead in the cold case of her missing sister, she arrives in Shady Cove. There she meets Sheriff Colter Brooks. They immediately clash, but then sparks fly.
I loved this read. The small town vibes were immaculate. The chemistry between Ridley and Colt was sizzling. I need more stories set in the town of Shady Cove. The audiobook was great with excellent narration.
ALC was provided by the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
Ridley runs a podcast reserching cold cases. Colt is the town sherrif and brother of Emmy, woman who was kidnapped 10 years earlier. Ridley thinks Emmy's kidnapper also killer her sister. Romantic suspense. small town. Sort of a slowburn sisnce spice doesn't happen until aroung 60% mark. Spicy 2/5.
Catherine Cowles is the queen of romantic suspense genre. Sebastian York and Andi Arndt are great narrators.
I’m so glad I finally picked up a Catherine Cowles book after hearing so many amazing things about her books—the hype is justified! Big thank you to Dreamscape Media for the gifted audiobook.
I’m not sure what the official genre would be—it’s part romance, part mystery—but the balance is spot-on. Sometimes with these genre-blending books, one element gets phoned in, but that’s not the case here. The romance feels organic and natural, and the mystery is solid. I was trying to piece it together the whole way through and was shocked by the reveal!
This book reminded me a lot of Lucy Score’s Knockemout series: the small-town setting, a heroine who blows into town and instantly charms everyone, a protective sheriff as the hero, and a plot that combines romance with mystery. In the audiobook, even the male POV is narrated by the same performer! If you loved Knockemout, you’ll love this. And if you didn’t like Knockemout because of its length, this one is much shorter—so give it a try!
Narration Notes: Performed by Andi Arndt and Sebastian York, the audiobook is fantastic. Both narrators are prolific—and for good reason. The emotion is spot-on, and all the technical elements (intonation, cadence, accents, pacing, etc.) are flawless. Highly recommend!
This was my first Catherine Cowles novel and I loved it! Can’t wait to read more. The ending wrapped a bit quick.
Ridley Sawyer knows what it’s like to miss someone, to feel like a piece of her vanished—because it happened to her the night her twin sister disappeared.
Now, Ridley channels that loss into hope, traveling the country covering cold cases for her true crime podcast. She might not have found justice for her sister but that doesn’t stop her from finding it for others.
Until Sheriff Colter Brooks gets in her way.
Colt knows what it’s like to have reporters descend on his town in the wake of a tragedy, and he’s not about to let a fiery podcaster stir up trouble. It doesn’t matter that her haunting blue eyes tell him there’s more to Ridley’s story or that he can’t stop imagining what it would be like to touch her.
But when Ridley’s cold case turns hot and she’s thrust into the crosshairs, Colt has no choice but to step in. Suddenly, Ridley’s living at his house, drinking his whiskey, and stealing his dog’s affections. But she’s also proving that she’s so much more than his first impression.
And as they get closer to the truth, the game they’ve been playing might just turn deadly
Impeccable. The narrators were perfect for the characters, giving them the exact personalities the book created for them! And of course Catherine never missed with the shock factor. There’s not a book that I’ve disliked by here and this is no different!

Andi Arndt and Sebastian York brought these characters to life! I have listened to several audios by both of these narrators and they always do great…All the Missing Pieces being no exception! Highly recommend!
**Book Review**
I just found a new favorite h occupation!!!! I can’t say that I have ever read about a podcaster before…but our heroine’s “Sounds Like Serial” podcast is one I would love to subscribe to! Ridley uses her podcast to help solve unsolved mysteries, murders, nappings, and disappearances…there is definitely a reason behind her desire to take care of these cold cases!
After she rolls in to Shady Cove, and has a not-so-pleasant experience with the Hero, Sheriff Deputy Colt Sinclair, things get a little intense. Colt has a reason to keep strangers out of his small town, and doesn’t like intruders…for good reason!
This is a wonderfully twisted, suspicion-filled, small town romantic suspense read! The characters are so unique, in their own way, and I love the way Author Catherine Cowles gives us just enough of each character to see who they are…without giving too much away!
Such an enjoyable read!
This has definitely become one of my favorite Catherine stories! Ridley was such a cool FMC. I loved the way she looked at life, making sure she got enough out of life after losing her sister. Her role as a true crime podcaster was such a cool way to set up the plot of the story as well. Colt was a great MMC for Ridley. They both had built up so many walls with the guilt of what happened to their loved ones and it was amazing as they slowly started trusting each other and “putting their pieces together” so to speak 😋 And of course Catherine did it AGAIN! I had absolutely zero idea who the bad guy was at the reveal. How does she do it???
I actually did this one by audio and Andi Arndt and Sebastian York did an absolute amazing job bringing Colt and Ridley to life. They were perfect narrator castings for this story!
This book had me at the edge of my seat more than any of Catherine's other ones! The suspense was on point, the slow burn perfect, and the dialog epic. Bravo!
Catherine has a way of writing pain that has the reader feeling it as if it was their own. The prologue was utterly heartbreaking and had me unable to stop reading till the end. Ridley was such an amazingly strong woman trying to live life for both herself and her twin sister. And the way she helps others who have been through similar pain? Nothing short of wonderful. Her first interactions with Colt were full of banter and the perfect sort of enemies to lovers vibes. Colt carries a lot of the same pain that Ridley does. He's broody and grumpy but also so kind and protective. I loved watching his relationship with his sister grow and change. (Emerson made this book even more developed and unique.)
These two may not have had the best beginning, but they could not fit together more perfectly. Colt believes in Ridley and makes her truly feel. Ridley helps Colt see things differently and to heal. I loved every minute of their story and didn't want it to end.
The suspense was seriously fantastic! I had no idea who the bad guy was. I mean, of course I had a guess but I was so wrong! The audio for this was perfection. I highly recommend listening while reading. I hope this turns into a series! All the stars!
ARC review.
How does Catherine do it? The twists she creates? Blows my mind every single time. This one clearly no different. The anticipation she builds of finding out who it is finally, is incredible. My heart seriously started racing knowing something was about to happen. It was all just set up so effing amazing.
Now to the characters who are so damn great. The banter and loathing Colt and Ridley have is just the best. The nicknames they gave each other that later become terms of endearment, GAH, loved so hard.
They have some mad chemistry, a magnetic pull towards each other. That of course made the steam… steamy. Haha 😏😮💨
They both have a shared similar wound and I loved the journey this takes them on into healing. The setup for book two, *chef’s kiss* and then that epilogue?! I died at how beautiful it was.
Also because it must be noted the narrators were fantastic.
So if you love any of these things:
- True Crime Podcaster
- Sheriff Hero
- Grumpy/Sunshine
- Forced Proximity
- Loveable Three-Legged Cat
- Small Town Suspense
- Hurt/Comfort
- Hilarious, Meddling Townsfolk
- Enemies to Lovers
You are definitely going to want to read this one.
I absolutely loved this book - it felt a little like A Good Girl's Guide to Murder for adults meets classic Catherine Cowles small town romantic suspense!
Ridley might just be my favourite FMC Catherine has written - she is strong, outgoing, compassionate, determined, and an absolute powerhouse. Joining forces with Colt, the broken grumpy sheriff who would do anything for the people he cares, they helped one other work through their trauma and solve a case that has haunted them both for years. Although I struggled to fully immerse myself in the relationship between Colt and Ridley, I enjoyed reading the spice and the dynamics of their relationship, filled with chaos, gentleness, and utter devotion.
I absolutely loved how prominent the murder mystery element was in this book, and for the first time ever in my Catherine Cowles reading history, I was able to guess the culprit.
Now, for the dual audiobook narration. I enjoyed listening to Andi and Sebastian bring Ridley and Colt to life. Sebastian has always been my favourite choice for a small town romance audiobook, and this was no different. He perfectly embodied the grumpy and gruff sheriff.
I also love the little glimpse we got into Anson, setting readers up for the Sparrow Falls series (my favourite amongst all of Catherine's series).
All the Missing Pieces is the start of a new series by Catherine Cowles. Romantic suspense, small town, true crime podcast. What's not to love!?
"Colt, you helped me find all the missing pieces. Even the ones I didn't realise I needed."
Catherine Cowles has become one of my favourite authors this year. She always hooks me on her books from the the very first page.
I loved Ridley's job and the way she had used her past experiences to try to help other people just made me love her more. I loved Ridley and Colt together. They both have this past trauma that brings them together. Catherine Cowles really brings the small town and all the secondary characters to life.
My fav things:
Nicknames: Lawman and Chaos
Tater the cat 😺
Emerson
Bowser the dog
The true crime podcast
The new small town
Thank you to Catherine Cowles for the ALC and the opportunity to review.
"Haven't you figured it out yet, Chaos? You've had me breaking all the rules since the day I met you."
How is this my first Catherine Cowles book? A lot of my booksta friends and favorite authors gush about how much they love her. My bad. I’ll be rectifying that asap.
I found this to be the perfect blend of plot, mystery, and romance. The light and heavy parts were so well balanced. I loved Ridley and Colt. Both have traumatic parts and have taken different approaches to healing. Check your tw, I got chocked up in the prologue. I definitely was bamboozled and did not guess the ending.
🎧I LOVED the audiobook. Andi Arndt and Sebastian York brought the characters to life. I loved the emotions they brought forth + I found myself chuckling at the banter. I warned my husband that if he caught me crying not to worry, it’s just my book.
Thank you to Dreamscape for my alc. All opinions are my own.
LOVED EVERY MINUTE OF THIS ONE.
THE GASP I GASPED. This book was Catherine Cowles at her very best! 5 stars!
Thank you to Catherine Cowles, Sourcebook Casablanca for the eARC and Dreamscape Media for the ALC of this one! These are my honest thoughts.
I ADORED this story. Ridley is on a mission. The tragic loss of her sister has been motivating her career as a true crime podcaster. She's become quite successful and learned how to navigate the kidnapping/loss that these families are facing as they either search for or mourn the loss of someone important to them. After all, she knows exactly how it feels.
She shows up in Shady Cove in hopes of uncovering enough clues about a man who took a local girl, who found a way to escape. What she finds is a half-brother who is protective... and not only that, but also a cop. Colt doesn't want the attention on his sister's case, and he doesn't want Ridley's production coming into his town and stirring up trouble.
But along the way, Ridley inserts herself into the community, and Colt gets to watch as she handles things in a caring and heartfelt way. Digging, but not pushing. Uncovering, but sensitively. And he can't help but appreciate what she's doing (begrudgingly or not). The community embraces her and then begins to help her uncover clues that might be leading to finding more about this person... and maybe his connection to other murders.
Colt and Ridley have so much chemistry, and their unique experiences bring their connection to sizzling levels. I love how Ridley stands on her own two feet, but she also allows Colt to see the real her. They build a trust that's powerful. And Ridley brings out a softer side of Colt that disappeared when his sister was kidnapped. This balance is... wooooo. Hot. So good.
This book also had so much tension and drama, and the twists were TWISTY. Loved it.
The audiobook was AWESOME. Highly recommend! Andi Arndt and Sebastian York both nailed their performances! I loved that it was dual-narration and that we got both Ridley and Colt's voices! Really brought this story to life! 5 stars!
