'All Bets Are On' by Cynthia Cooke is the story of Derek Wescott and Jaclyn Reynolds.
Jaclyn best friend Trish has been hounding her to start dating again and break her 'dry spell'. So Trish talks her into an online site for dating where they see Derek's profile. They set up a coffee date the next morning. Jaclyn has some abandonment issue after her parents left and she does care for handsome movie start type looks...which Derek seems to have.
Derek just wants to concentrate on his career and move up to the 9th realm. But his mother wants him to get into a relationship and give her grand kids. When he learns that he has been set up on a Date he is of course upset but ends up going. There he meets Jaclyn who isn't what she seems. Jaclyn plays down her looks allot. They end up having their own bet and it was fun and exciting to watch their relationship play out.
