This book is not just about Okapis which was something that surprised me. This book instead is about various different rainforest animals and how they have uniquely adapted to survive. The pages are bright and colorful. Each pages has a sticky note with either an animal fact and question or a activity for the reader to do such as finding five bananas hidden in the illustration. Young kids will enjoy reading this book or having this book read to them. It's perfect for a story time or a read aloud.

This is a charming introduction to nonfiction for young children. The youngest will enjoy the whimsical “look and find” challenges on the pages and learning facts of each animal while having this title read aloud to them. Preschool and kindergarten children will be able to connect these facts with concepts of beginning research. This will be a nice addition to libraries and personal reading collections.

Thank you to Flowerpot Press, Jack Beard, Jayri Gomez, and NetGalley for this advance reader copy.

Okapis are my favorite animal, but this book did not have much content on them. The reading level was lower than I expected. Young children might like it, but older kids will want more information.

Why Do Okapis Look So Funny? is a book about some interesting and sometimes strange animals who live in the rainforest. It includes fun facts about a variety of animals. Most of the book is colorfully illustrated, but their are some actual photographs and some additional facts at the end. This is a good book for young readers who are interested in animals.

Thanks to Flowerpot Press and NetGalley for an eARC of this book for an honest review.

Why Do Okapis Look So Funny? is so cute! There are 6-7 rainforest animals highlighted in the book. Each page offered interactive prompts to count or answer a question. My 3yo love it! Thanks NetGalley for the ARC!

Love! This book is so perfect for many ages. Though some of the pages are length for a 1-2 year old, the illustrations, fun facts, labels, and little interactions throughout the book make it such a well rounded book to have in your personal library for your kids or your classroom!!
