This detective story is a thrilling ride from start to finish! The pace is relentless, and just when you think you’ve figured it all out, another twist leaves you reeling. At the heart of it all is a tense mystery—kidnapping, disappearances, and the lengths people will go to protect their loved ones. The stakes are high, and the emotional depth is palpable.

The story plays with social and wealth divides in ways that make every character’s choice feel consequential. The dual timeline adds layers of suspense, gradually revealing clues that keep you guessing until the final page. It’s a fast-paced, unpredictable, and deeply engaging story that leaves you questioning how far you’d go to protect the ones you love. If you're into tightly woven plots with shocking twists, this one will have you hooked.

My first 5 star read for 2025 ⭐️

Harlan Coben has done it again with another wildly twisty thriller. I have been a long time reader of Harlan’s books and he never lets me down. Nobody’s Fool brings back Sami Kierce, one year after the event of Fool Me Once which saw him being stood down from the NYPD. Now he is teaching when a face from his past turns upon his class. But it is impossible, Anna is dead. He found her body covered in blood 22 years ago in Spain when his whole life changed.

As there always is with this authors books, there is a lot going on. While all this is happening, the convicted killer of Sami’s former fiancée is released from prison on a technical issue. Just when he thought his life was going well with a wife and a new baby, things look they might be about to implode for him.

This story is genius! So clever and so addictive. I was approved for this book early Saturday morning and I had to start straight away. I took my time as much as I could, wanting to savour the story but by Sunday afternoon I was finished. I just couldn’t stop reading. I needed to know what was going to happen next and how it was all going to play out.

Another thing that I love about this author is all the nods to other books throughout. They really do make me smile. This book is just brilliant, it is funny, it is suspenseful and it is dark. Not just any author can get all those elements right in a story, but Harlan nails it every time. I can absolutely see this as a Netflix series in the future.

A massive thank you to Grand Central Publishing for making my weekend with approving me for this book. I can’t recommend this book and this author more. This comes out March 25th and you just need to read it. You can thank me later.

4.5 stars On a college trip, Sami wakes up next to a dead body with a knife in his hand in Spain. Fast forward twenty-two years. Sami is teaching night school, after losing his job as police. In walks Anna, the "dead" body from Spain. And off we go on a wild ride while Sami attempts to figure out what happened back then after he's hired by the family of a woman who disappeared when she was a teenager and who the family believes is Sami's "Anna'. A total page-turner by Coben. Highly recommend.

This story was such a spine tingling, page turner! It was hard to put this down and I believe this is one of Coben's best novels. He is one of my favorite authors.
Thank you to the publisher for the opportunity to read this advanced copy. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

I was given this book by NetGalley for an honest review-
Once again Coban writes a winner! Sami wakes up covered in blood with a knife in his hands. How did that happen? He loves her. How can Anna be dead. He runs! Sami is married teaching a night class when he sees Anna at the back of the room - he chases her but she’s gone. Was it her? Can he get to the bottom of this mystery? A great read!

He does it again! Another 5-star book from Harlan Coben. This is the second novel in the Sami Kierce series, but can absolutely be read as a standalone. I read this in two days, and if I didn’t have young kids, I would have read it in one sitting. I loved the cast of characters and the main mystery of the story. I did not see the end coming, as I never do. If you’re looking for a thriller, absolutely pick this one up. Pub date is March 25!

The king of the thriller genre is back again with another epic read - Nobody's Fool follows disgraced detective Sami Kierce (of the show Fool Me Once - but not the book) when his life is thrown into turmoil when a mysterious woman from his past shows up. There is no author out there who does the missing person stories like Coben and no other author with 30+ mysteries under their belt that has consistently wowed me with 5 star reads for all of their books.

This is 100% a standalone thriller but fans of Coben's other work will notice nods to other stories - something I love about Coben's writing, there are always easter eggs for fans. Whenever I get my hands on his books, I drop everything to start them right away and the worst part about finishing is having to wait another year for a new book!
