Sarah’s husband goes missing and I immediately think that she killed him. Boy, was I wrong…
The book was doing so well and then we were given that ending… It was a bit disappointing. Sarah was acting suspicious so rightfully I spent the entire book blaming her for her husband’s disappearance and the whole time she had nothing to do with it. There is so much build-up for nothing IMO. The new information that was received about her husband was a bit shocking (out of everything he could’ve been doing I did not expect what he was actually doing) but it was entertaining at least. I wouldn’t recommend this book but if you’re going into it just know it's more of a mystery than a thriller. I hope to find better books from this author.

This is an Advanced Listener copy. Although this book was given to me as an ALC my thoughts are my own. Thank you, Tamara L. Miller and NetGalley for the ALC opportunity!

Sometimes there are psychological thrillers from debut authors and they fall flat, but that is not the case with Into The Fall by Tamara L. Miller. This was a well paced story throughout and was an excellent first novel. Congrats.

Did I hate this?…no, did I love it? Also no. This to me did not feel at all like a thriller. I was not on the edge of my seat once wondering what was happening. This felt more like a mystery than anything. Although the story was somewhat interesting, the characters all fell a bit flat for me. Overall not a bad read, definitely not what I was expecting.

Sarah seems to have it all. A career she loves, a beautiful family and home. But her marriage is falling apart. On a camping trip, her husband vanishes without a trace and the case goes cold. Sarah knew he was keeping things from her, but as she works with authorities to find him, she finds that she didn't know him at all.
I loved the premise of this book and books set in the wilderness always draw me in. Unfortunately, I just couldn't stay interested in this one. So much and yet absolutely nothing happened and the alternating time settings didn't make sense to me. The audio narration was fine, nothing special but I did like the Canadian accents.
2.5 stars.

I really wanted to love "Into the Fall" solely based on the title as well as the concept. A father goes missing into the wood on a camping trip only to have his disappearance dig up secrets from his past? Count me in! However I had a tough time getting through this audiobook between the back and forth timelines jumps, the wordiness, and the slow moving nature of the story. I don't feel like the ending of the book gave a true "thriller" feel, but parts of the book glimpsed at the suspenseful "who done it" scenario. Unfortunately I had to up the speed of my audiobook to finish this, hoping to a final twist that would really drive the whole thing home.
I'd recommend this book if you like: wilderness settings, familial secrets, double lives, and slow burn mysteries.

Good classic mystery. I enjoyed the story and it kept me interested the whole time. There was nothing too crazy that stood out to me and I’m sure in a few weeks I’ll forget most of the storyline. The ending I think was the best part with the little twists and turns and was not what I expected. The audiobook reader did a great job!

Sarah’s husband is missing. Did something accidental occur to cause him harm, or is something more sinister at play? Is Sarah hiding something? Does she know more than she is saying? This is a mystery that kept me interested throughout. The setting of Ottawa adds to the drama and intensity of this puzzling story of secrets and deception. The narration added a layer of suspense and emotion as the plot unfolded. Atmospheric, suspenseful, and twisty describe this family drama. Thank you, NetGalley and Brilliance Audio for my audiobook.

It took me a few chapters to get used to the narrator as she had a lovely voice, but wasn't what I was used to for this type of book. Once I did, it was smooth sailing all the way through to the ending I had completely gotten wrong. The ending wasn't even in any of my top choices, well done!

Into the Fall is marketed as a thriller, but is far from it. The pace is slow moving, which would be okay if the characters and events were more interesting. Unfortunately the whole thing felt flat for me and only kept me going so I could reach the end. The end itself did not redeem this tale. The narrator had a pleasant voice, but did not help to make the story more dynamic or interesting.

I had high hopes for this one but unfortunately it just didn't hold my attention. There was suspense, but I wouldn't call this a thriller it's more of a mystery. I just couldn't stick through it I was very underwhelmed.

I received an audiobook ARC from NetGalley but opinions are my own.
So-so read for me. It held my attention somewhat, but I wasn’t enthralled in it like I have been in other audiobook thrillers. I think part of the issue is it really isn’t a thriller in my opinion. Mystery is a more accurate description. The ending fell short for me, although it wasn’t what I expected. Apparently that wasn’t a good thing, which is unusual (especially for a book marketed as a thriller.) I also found Sarah hard to like, which also felt odd given the context of the book.
I did enjoy the narrators as they were smooth and easy to understand. The set up of the woods and lake was also well done and definitely gave off a damp, chilly and dark vibe.
Thank you to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review.

Underwhelming. A bit shocking. But nothing earth shattering. Didn’t care much about any characters. Wasn’t a fan of the sister at alllll.

Wilderness related mysteries are some of my favorites to read. I love all of the descriptions of nature and outdoor activities. I found myself compulsively listening to this story from the start. I was so intrigued by the husband going missing while camping. I loved how the family secrets were slowly revealed. I felt like the twists and story overall are very straightforward and there aren’t a lot of different characters to get to know. I thought some of the character development was lacking. I really wanted to understand the husband and his motivations better. Revenge is a dish best served cold. That’s all I’ll say without spoiling anything!
Overall, a compulsive mystery that had me listening late into the night! If you enjoy wilderness thrillers with family drama then I definitely recommend this book. Looking forward to more from this author in the future.

I dont know. I really enjoyed the first half, it was a little different than the other thrillers I read, but then it just became disjointed and eye rolling.

Thank you NetGalley for a gripping mystery that challenges how far we would go for family.
This had my interest right away! and I thought I had it all figured out so fast, but was wrong on a few key points. I think this would make a great book for a book club because there are questions about the plot and about the choices made by characters that I think would be interesting conversation.
