This was a great book. When most business leaders think of close relationships with their communities, they just think of PR. Unfortunately, it's much deeper than that. This book tells readers what, beyond the cosmetic, they can do to make their leadership more effective.

I've read a LOT of leadership books over the years. I'm always interested to see if new ones can offer a fresh take on what tends to be the same principle applied through different lens. While the author's lessons and points are not necessarily new or groundbreaking, this book is written for, in my opinion, 'feelers." If you've ever taken a Meyers Briggs test and ended up with an F, this book is for you. I've been in leadership roles for about 10 10 years now and have always been taught and mentored to push the feeler away and be objective.
The author embraces the feeler and shows you how this is an asset. I also like the emphasis on combining who you are with the culture you are in and how to balance the two. A quick and easy read, which will really speak to a specific type of leader.

Thank you to the editor for allowing me to read an advanced copy of this book on NetGalley in exchange for a review. I was initially interested in this book because I have recently received an opportunity to work in a management role. After starting the book I found that while the authors experience related to working in the college/university sector his leadership style could be employed in any area.
I truly feel like this book was an easy read, with some great tips for team building and creating a positive culture in the workplace. I would recommend this book to colleagues interested in professional/personal growth.
