I loved this book! Lisa Jewell can do no wrong in my eyes and this book was no different! From the con-artist plot to the multiple POVs I was sucked in from the very first page. Twist after twist, I did guess the ending however I still loved it!

A great start to my 2025 reading! This is the first Lisa Jewell ARC I have been approved for and I am so thankful as I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. In a nutshell, we have a young girl Ash (Aisling) whose father, Paddy, has recently passed away under horrific circumstances. Ash and her mother, Nina, are struggling to get their bearings when out of the blue a thoughtful keepsake of Paddy’s is mailed to them. The gift was sent by an old friend of Paddy’s, a handsome suave man named Nick. Nick starts to develop a relationship with Nina and seems to be helping her deal with her grief. He seems too good to be true… And then the story takes off as we learn about Nick’s past and past relationships. And what a past that is! I enjoyed the twists and turns although the big twist was a bit of a let down. However, Jewell’s writing and narration never fail to keep me invested. I did find the women in this book way too gullible and malleable! I also did not feel the same strong emotional pull that I have felt with Ms. Jewell’s previous novels. However, as I said a thoroughly fun and enjoyable read!
Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

First o all, Lisa Jewell is on top of my favorite writers in this genre and every book of her has left me speechless. Sadly, that wasn't the case with this one. I think one of the problems was his POV, since that gives away a lot and takes away the mystery, to the point that I figured out most things very early. And other characters that were boring and things that were kinda unnecessary. But Ash's POV was very interesting and compelling, so it kinda makes up for it, and also the ending. Thank you to NetGalley and Atria Books for sending me this ARC.

What can’t Lisa Jewell do? I absolutely adore her and her books. This was no exception.

I was wondering how all the characters were connected, and as it was revealed I was shook.

The twists and turns kept coming and I couldn’t put it down.

Oh my god where do i start?? Jaw is still on the floor.. Don't Let Him In by Lisa Jewell is an incredibly engaging psychological thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Starts slow but don't give up its full of suspense, and twists, Lisa Jewell masterfully draws you into the lives of her characters, making it impossible to put the book down. Best book by Lisa yet.

Thanks to Atria Books and NetGalley for providing the opportunity to read this thrilling book!

First off, thank you NetGalley and Atria Books for allowing me to read this advanced copy!

I really wanted to love this book as I have other Lisa Jewell books but I had a hard time following and making sense of the plot at some points. I found the flip flop of timelines to be confusing and how old the main character was at different times. However, nearing the end, it did come together more and it was easier to figure out how all these characters were intertwined.

I did really feel for Ash in particular with the mental health component. I think it was brave for her to go on the journey she does in the book and I did like how her mother did not call her crazy when Ash came to her with all the evidence she had collected.

2.5 ⭐️ (rounded down). First off I am definitely in the minority with my star rating. I hate to say this, but sometimes I think people automatically give high ratings to authors that they like because there have been plenty of Lisa Jewell books that I have loved and have given five stars to, but this is definitely not one. It’s going to be very hard to write a review without spoilers because it’s difficult to discuss any of the these characters without giving away information. But I will NOT give any spoilers because I was fortunate enough to receive an advanced readers copy and I know that prior to publication date people will want to read reviews without them.

I guess I will start by saying the storyline had a lot of potential but the writing just wasn’t the best. It was very repetitious, boring at times and the characters were all awful with the exception of Ash and Jane. I absolutely hated Al…and yes I know I’m supposed to hate him so that wasn’t a consideration in my rating but the women were all so stupid (especially Martha) and it was just so unbelievably crazy the way the author made all these women so weak and brainless. I will say Nina didn’t bother me by the end of the book, but that ending (and epilogue)….insert major eyeroll 🙄. Again, I can’t say without a spoiler, but if you read the book, you’ll know what I’m talking about. Sadly I don’t recommend this one but as I said earlier, I’ve read plenty of other great books by this author….this just wasn’t one that I enjoyed.

Thank you to NetGalley and Atria books for an advance copy in exchange for an honest review.

With a mix of suspense, shocking twists, and relatable characters, this book is a thrilling ride that’s impossible to put down. Jewell’s writing is sharp, engaging, and full of surprises, making Don't Let Him In the perfect choice for anyone looking for a fast-paced, suspenseful read with plenty of heart-pounding moments.

Jewell is always a reliable go-to author for me, and once you’ve read a few of her books you pick up on the fact that she usually favors characters’ psyches over wild twists and turns. I think her last book was a bit of an exception but this one is more along the lines of The Night She Disappeared , it’s more straightforward and the reader pretty much knows what’s going on the whole time (although there are a few reveals to keep you on your toes).
This is a Dirty John type of story following a serial conman who eases his way into multiple women’s lives, and one of their daughters finally catches onto something being suspicious about him and starts trying to unravel his story. ‘Nick’ is a FRUSTRATING character to follow and was written so well by Jewell. Not her twistiest book ever but definitely well done for what the story was trying to be.

Is your widowed mother's new boyfriend for real, or does something seem off? As Ash starts to investigate, and layers begin to unfold. I always like Lisa Jewell's books and this one was good. I liked the multiple points of view and the end was really a surprise. Definitely recommended.

Thank you to @netgalley and @lisajeweluk for the e-ARC.

I mean, what are we even doing here!? Let's be real - this is a Lisa Jewell book. If you’re reading this, you probably don’t need convincing, because we both know you’re going to pick this up anyway. But, if you need a little extra push to go ahead and ignore those backlist books, here's what I have for you:

DON'T LET HIM IN is a big hunk o' fun. I’ll admit, when I first started, the thriller genre has me brainwashed to expect every little detail to be some mind-bending twist. Timelines? Twist. Name changes? Twist. The title? Definitely a twist. And while this has some surprises, go into this knowing that what you think is going on is in fact what is going on. BUT the absolute joy in reading this is to join in on the shared rage you'll feel towards one truly destestable character. The gripping and satisfying part of this story is witnessing everyone else slowly realize what an absolute horrible villain this guy is too. And nothing brings people together like hating on the same thing. I highly recommend for an entertaining read!

Don't Let Him In comes out on June 24, 2025.

Rating: I loved it

“Don’t Let Him In” has quickly become my favorite Lisa Jewell novel yet! I had the privilege of receiving an advance reader copy through NetGalley, and it did not disappoint.

True to Lisa Jewell’s signature style, the book is packed with unexpected twists and turns that kept me guessing until the very last page. Just when I thought I had everything figured out, she pulled the rug out from under me in the best possible way. Lisa Jewell continues to prove why she’s a master of psychological thrillers!”

This book was really interesting at first, but by about 70% i started to get pretty bored.I think this book could've been 50ish pages shorter! i did like it, but it was not at all my favorite of hers.

I love Lisa Jewell and this one didn't disappoint! I loved the multiple perspectives and trying to figure out what the different characters were up to. It took me a little to keep track of the characters and keep them straight but I loved every minute of it!

Thank you, NetGalley and Atria Books, for this eARC for review. All opinions are my own.

Omg! What a wild ride! I have never been so happy about my boring little life, with my safe husband of over 20 years. The only thing that could have made this story better was if Keith Morrison read it aloud to me. I don't want to give away any part of the plot - all I can say is clear your calendar because you won't be able to put this down once you start.

Laura and Justin. Amanda and Damien. Tara and Jonathan. Martha and Allistair. Nina and Nick. Jessie and Andre. All of these pairings have one terrible thing in common.
Buckle up!!

Something dark always lurks with a Lisa Jewell novel, and this one is no different. A really well written page turner I found myself hooked from that first chapter. My only concern was the representation of the older woman in the novel. They were portrayed as naive, frumpy, easily manipulated and sad while the young women were portrayed as the ones that are speaking out, fighting and not putting up with manipulative behavior. Yes, this was the viewpoint of the perpetrator, but I often found myself feeling this way about how the women were falling for such ridiculous behavior by this character. A very good suspense novel, but I can see this bothering some readers.

Thank you to NetGalley and Atria Books for the ARC!

She did it again, twists I didn’t see coming, great MC, great plot. This is an auto buy author and this might be one of her best novels.
