Really enjoyed the storyline and how everything played out. It was easy to piece things together, but that could’ve been intentional. Lisa Jewell is one of the best thrillers authors out there and I continue to enjoy what she puts out. The only critique is that for the book to be set current day (post Covid), I feel like things kind of didn’t happen to keep the readers in suspense. When Ash was trying to find who sold the pink box, I feel like she could have taken a photo and used the Google image search. I also feel like when a body was found, who you assume would be a previous wife, they could have done a DNA test with her child? Idk I don’t work in forensics so they may not be able to do that.

Thank you NetGalley for the advanced copy. Don’t Let Him In by Lisa Jewell is out June 2025!

This book was just okay for me. It was fast paced with short chapters and I finished it in 2 days. I felt the urge to keep reading to figure out what was happening. BUT I felt it lacked emotion. Like I was just being TOLD what was happening without really being immersed in the story.

If you like thrillers in general, or Lisa Jewell’s other books then you will probably enjoy this.

The plot got me interested right away! I found the chapters to go back and forth between characters but it wasn't always obvious whose POV it was. There was also some confusion with some chapters time frame. One chapter might say "4 years earlier" and the next chapter would say the same thing but it wasn't always the same person. It was hard to know if the 2 chapters were talking about the same 4 years prior or if the next chapter was 4 years earlier than the timeframe of the previous chapter. With so many characters and the slow development of the connection between them all, it was hard to maintain interest. I will try other books by this author.

This book blew my mind! Seriously!!

I don't know how she does it, but Lisa Jewell seems to come up with sparkling new idea after idea! Each of her books are unique and so addictive! Don't Let Him In is my new favorite from Jewell by far!

First of all, the first third of the book is mind bending: you get bits and pieces and you aren't quite sure how it all connects and then BAM! It hits you, at which point there is no going back! I flew through this book, I just could not put it down!

This book is extremely hard to review, however, because I am not quite sure what details I can discuss without giving it all away. Just know that the strength of this book are it's characters! While the plot is truly wild, the characters make it all believable and so engaging. They don't feel fictional, they all seem like people you already know, or versions of people you already know.

One of the best thrillers I have every read, period! I loved this book, I highly recommend it!

I received a free digital copy of Don't Let Him In from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for my honest review, all opinions are my own.

I was recently gifted Don’t Let Him In by Lisa Jewell on NetGalley in exchange for my honest review. Thank you Lisa and Atria Books!
This book reminded me that Lisa is a master at character development, especially the creation of completely horrid antagonists. I loved it! This book, Don’t Let Him In, reminded me of the ultimate catfish, and I finished it pretty quickly because I just didn’t want to put it down.
Great work Lisa!

Oh my gosh, that was the most stressful book I have ever read! 🫣 Every time a new woman was introduced, I completely lost it. I was like...noooooo!!! Don't talk to him! Don't do it! I couldn't figure out who was who at first but stick with it. It's not as confusing as it seems at first.

Nina, a widow, gets a package one day with a note from an old friend of his. It's an old lighter he had that he'd always meant to return and he sends along his condolences and regrets he didn't reach out sooner, when her husband was still alive. Ash, her adult daughter, says she should write back and thank him. Months later, Nick and Nina have begun talking often and start dating. Ash can't get over the feeling that something just isn't right though.

Martha loves her husband, she just doesn't understand why he ghosts her all the time. He will be unreachable for days and works all the time. She doesn't think he is having an affair, but then what's going on?

This is typical Lisa Jewell. Compelling, well thought out, and honestly, she writes a great villain. I binged this book because I HAD to know how it ended. I could not handle it. Lol.

Thank you to netgalley for an ARC to enjoy.

You know that thrill you get when you’re approved for an ARC of a book you’ve been eagerly anticipating? That’s exactly how I felt when I got my hands on Don’t Let Him In by Lisa Jewell. After loving None of This Is True, one of my top thrillers from last year, I couldn’t wait to see what Jewell had in store this time.

While I enjoyed Don’t Let Him In, it didn’t quite reach the heights of her previous work. This one leans more into suspense than outright thriller territory, so it’s best to go in with that mindset. It’s an engaging, quick read, but don’t expect the same level of twists and turns.

The story is told through three perspectives: Nick, Ash (the daughter of recently deceased Paddy Swann), and Martha (the wife of Al). As the narrative unfolds, it becomes clear that Nick and Al might not be who they seem, leading Ash and Martha down a shocking path they might have avoided if they’d heeded the ominous warning: Don’t let him in.

While I enjoyed the pacing and premise, I found the ending a bit puzzling. Some character arcs felt inconsistent, leaving me with questions (no spoilers here!). That said, the book was still a fun and enjoyable read, perfect if you’re looking for something quick and entertaining. While it may not leave you second-guessing everything like None of This Is True, it’s worth checking out for Lisa Jewell fans!

This new Lisa Jewell book does not disappoint! The story is told from the perspective of three different people over a span of 4 years. One storyline follows Ash, who has had some struggles in her personal life and has since lost her father, Paddy. Her widowed mother, Nina, starts to date a man named Nick and Ash is immediately concerned about his intentions. Another storyline follows Martha, a florist, with a husband who at times seems perfect and other times disappears for days at a time without communicating with her. The final storyline follows the villain who is charming, manipulative, and continues to outdo himself with the terrible things he is willing to do to reach his end goal. There are many twists and turns in this book, some of which I predicted, but others that came as a surprise. It was an enjoyable domestic thriller!

My ARC was provided by the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

Listen, if Lisa Jewell writes it, I'm gonna read it. I happy screamed when I saw I was approved for the arc of this from NetGalley.
After giving myself a couple days after finishing to ruminate on my thoughts, here's what I got:

-This was definitely Lisa's most bonkers "villain" yet I think, and that is saying something! She's the queen of weirdo bad guys.
-A friend who also did an arc read said she didn't love all the changing POVs and how much of the main male character's perspective we got. However, I enjoyed that aspect and feel that it really nailed home the difference between how he justified things and perceived his actions, then the reality of it from the women's pov (and thereby nailing home his status as an absolute psycho.)
-Some aspects definitely did feel a little bit unbelievable or far-fetched. Which I think some of was intentional (like the relationship dynamics), but some felt just a bit like stretching fiction to the limit like <spoiler>could they not get any dna from the body/torso found to link it back to who it was!? Or how did all the facebook group members find the group/each other so quickly?? We will never know lol</spoiler>
-I don't feel like there were any "big twists" with this one, but it definitely was propulsive and you wanted to keep reading to find out what happens. There were a few twist surprises, but if you're a frequent thriller reader you can probably guess them coming. However, I think the pace of the story was good and made me want to not put it down.

Overall, if you like Lisa Jewell's stories, you'll enjoy this one. If you've never read anything by her before, I don't think it's a bad introduction. I'm sure this will be very popular this summer and I look forward to reading more people's take on it!

Thank you Netgalley and Atria Books for the advanced copy!

Very entertaining thriller/mystery! It was certainly shocking on a "who could possibly be so cruel and manipulative" level but not so shocking on a "wow I did not see that one coming" level. I certainly could have done with a bit more of the latter level of shocking, but I still devoured this book in a day or two. I found the timeline confusing, but I think that actually kind of works with the overall mysterious vibes of the book--this man is confusing everyone he knows, so why shouldn't the reader be a bit confused too?

This was my first Lisa Jewell book and I would definitely consider reading others of hers!

A cunning con man, a daughter on a mission, a wife with many questions. As always, Lisa Jewell takes us on a wild ride with this book and it's hard to say more without spoiling the story for others.

There are a lot of characters and the story moves between the past and present frequently. This caused some confusion but not enough to detract from enjoying the book as a whole.

Thank you to NetGalley and Atria Books for the advance copy.

First I want to say thank you to Atria Books and NetGalley for providing me with this ARC.

Lisa Jewell’s “Don’t Let Him In” is a winding story. It was slightly difficult to keep up with all the separate POVs. I also don’t feel like too much really happened. And like her last book I found myself waiting for the other shoe to drop. It really never did.

I give this book a solid 3 stars because I did enjoy the story, but I feel like the execution and the twists could’ve been better.

This book stressed me out in the best way possible! I was so invested and utterly entertained up until the very last page.I have never met a villain in a book I despised as much as this one. I was so mad! I just wanted to yell, "STOP HIM!" 5 stars! This was utterly fantastic!

4.5 ⭐️

This is one of those books that as much as I want to write an entire synopsis to explain how page turning it was I don’t actually want to spoil a single chapter. I honestly feel like this was a new side of Lisa Jewell that I love! Every single chapter had me questioning where it was going and what was coming next. The characters were so well written that you loved some, thought some were very naive, and absolutely hated, wanted their world to come crashing on top of them. I opened this book not knowing what it was about and it was such a great surprise.

it has been a very, very long time since a thriller has made me feel this way. it had me staying up late, sitting for hours, canceling plans - this book is that GURL. by far my favorite Lisa book yet (which says a lot because she’s probably my favorite thriller/mystery author out of them all).

if you looked up the word gaslight in the dictionary there would be a link to purchase this book. this book is off its ROCKER. you get to know a few women but mostly pay attention to 3 main ones. as you go back and forth between their lives and POVs you also get to meet a man that ends up connecting all of them. just read and see & go into it as blind as you can!

this book doesn’t come out until the summer so want to keep my review short and spoiler free. go into it blind. expect all the emotions - it’s a really good one. thank you publishers and netgalley for an ARC ❣️ i will be shocked if this is not my favorite thriller for 2025!

A thriller that's actually thrilling! Never had read a Lisa Jewell book before, but after this I will definitely be picking another one up. It keeps you wanting to read one and keep turning the pages. The blurb and beginning might seem a little confusing, but it keeps you hooked once you start reading and there are twists and turns to keep you gasping. If you love thrillers, this is a must read. Thank you to NetGalley and Atria Books for the ARC in exchange for an honest review!

A new Lisa Jewell book is a real cause for celebration—I got hooked after 2023's None of This Is True and read every Jewell I could get my hands on. Her latest, Don't Let Him In, is an absolute banger of a thriller, centering on a con man who goes from woman to woman, swindling them of their resources and leaving a trail of confusion and broken hearts in his wake. When his latest victim's daughter starts noticing some suspicious activity from the charming new man in her mom's life, she uncovers more than she bargained for, including several murders. I loved it, and I'm a little jealous of the people who get to read it poolside when it comes out in July.
