Thank you to the publishers and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this ARC.

Don’t Let Him In starts on the slower side, but it picks up nicely about halfway through. This will be an excellent beach read when it releases in the summer!

Okay, Lisa Jewell you have done it again!

This book had me feeling so emotional! I wanted to cry, scream, and rage! It could have been like watching a true crime documentary! It felt so realistic to me with how she sets up the plot and characters and then the evolution of it all.

This was such a good heart-pounding, twisty, edge of your seat thriller. It really kept me engaged and wanting to keep reading. Was definitely a long game and we can see how it unfolds with how Lisa has it plotted.

I did guess a few twists but not all of them, and the ending what a nice surprise!

Highly recommend to those who like realistic thrillers.
Thank you to NetGalley, Atria Books, and Lisa Jewell for the ARC!

I wasn’t sure about this for the first 50%. It was easy to put down and walk away. But once I hit the halfway mark, I didn’t stop until I was done. The twists in this book were amazing.

Secrecy, stages, and strategy.

Wow, a Lisa Jewell book granted to me 6 months early?! This book was a trip to follow all the way through. Duel timelines are my favorite, and in LJ fashion, the puzzle pieces fell, but she let us put them in place.
Someone with meticulous planning, thinking he has the power to manipulate, and he deceived with serious destruction.

There are so many words I want to quote, but we have to wait for the publication date. This book has me shaking my head, at times wanting to scream in frustration, and wanting to throw this kindle across the room (wishing I could instill some empowerment that is desperately needed in THESE woman). Yes, I said it. More than one. Then things took a turn.

Each chapter you read, the exploitation gets worse, until snowball effect is more like a blackout avalanche. Wow, thank you Net Galley, Atria Books, and Lisa Jewell for granting me this ARC for my honest thoughts! June is a long time to wait for this incredible book to be published, but it is worth every penny for preorder.

I loved the premise of the book. The storyline was more of a slower burn… lots of character development which made the book enjoyable yet felt a little long. The ending with the twist was spectacular. It tied the book up very well.

Don’t Let Him In

Do you remember having that paper tube kaleidoscope so many of us had as kids? You turned the tube and the colors inside made constantly changing and always beautiful patterns. What if that kaleidoscope was a person? Meet Nick or Alister. Always shifting. Always changing. From the outside he appears to be the perfect man. He says the right things, does the right things and has impeccable timing. Dig a little deeper and he always has an excuse and/or an explanation and can always find the most vulnerable people who need him – or does he need them?

Lisa Jewell is at the top of her game. Don’t Let Him In will not disappoint. Jewell has the ability to capture the reader from the beginning, keeping them engaged in the story while continually ramping it up through alternating timelines and POV’s. After decades of lies, Nick must keep moving, covering his tracks and staying under the radar. No one must know the truth. He is nothing short of a diabolical, manipulative antagonist, that you find yourself wondering what else can he get away with and what damage will he leave in his wake?

This book starts out slow. There are many different characters that are hard to keep clear. It is clear from the beginning that the same man is responsible for each of the women he has conned. There was a slight twist at the end regarding Nina's daughter, Ash, that I was actually able to predict.

Lisa Jewell has become a must-read author for me, and she really built the tension. Multiple timelines + multiple points of view had my brain working overtime at the beginning of this one. But once I caught on to where we were headed, I was on the edge of my seat. Throw in a few good twists and one absolutely diabolical character, and we have ourselves a winner! If you liked Dirty John, you’ll love this.

Five stars because phewwwww Mrs Jewell has done it again!

Last year I read None of This is True + Then She Was Gone, and then started collecting Lisa Jewell’s backlist because of how much I enjoyed her writing style! So I was very excited to be approved for Don’t Let Him In as my first ARC!

Don’t Let Him In starts with the unfortunate death of restaurateur Paddy Swann and the aftermath of his coping family, primarily the windowed Nina and daughter Ash. Shortly after Paddy’s death, they receive condolences and a gift in the mail, “a former item of Paddy’s”, from a gentleman named Nick who claims to have worked with him previously. This blossoms into a relationship between Nina and Nick, but Ash has her suspicions…

You’re taken through a whirlwind of stories over the years from a few different POV’s, painting a very clear picture of our MMC’s mindset and intentions. As the stories come together it becomes clear- they never should have let him in!

I couldn’t put this book down; such a fun kaleidoscopic thriller! Each point of view came with strong feelings for the characters, and you just have to keep reading to see how their stories connect and end. Full praise from me to this story for being crazy, yet realistic! Excited for everyone to read this one in June!

Thank you, NetGalley and Lisa Jewell, for this ARC.
What a way to start 2025! This book had me at the edge of my seat the whole time. I could not turn the pages fast enough. Without giving too much away what these women go through is a test of how strong you can be when faced with mysterious circumstances. Definitely pick this read up! Lisa Jewell has done it again with this thriller!

This is my first book by this author. I was excited to get an early copy and I am so glad I requested it. The book was phenomenal. I didn’t want to put it down but I had to… because, you know… life. I read it in 2 days and will recommend this book to every person I come across. The characters were believable and the storyline had me thinking about it all day.

Paddy Swann was the life of the party—a successful restaurateur known for his charm—until one day, when a man pushed him in front of an oncoming train, leaving his wife Nina and their twenty-something daughter Ash devastated. After the funeral, the two women are shocked to receive an unexpected package in the mail: a note and an old, unremarkable lighter that once belonged to Paddy, sent by Nick Radcliffe, an old friend of his from years ago. The gift stirs something between Nick and Nina, pulling them closer—much to Ash’s growing unease.

Martha, a small-town florist with big dreams, juggles life with her second husband Al, their baby, and two sons from her first marriage. But they’re constantly short on cash, and with Al away for work so often, she feels like she’s doing it all on her own—especially after an emergency makes her realize things can’t stay the way they are.

As it turns out, Nick and Al might not be exactly who they seem, and before long, the lives of these three women are set on a dangerous collision course. It all leaves them wishing they had listened to the warning: Don’t let him in.

After reading this I wondered how naive some women can be, or just how lonely they are. I read this is one sitting, it was a great read!

I loved this book and INHALED it in one sitting. I loved that it was told from multiple perspectives which kept you guessing on what was truly happening. This story is about three women, but also many more. Ash is a young woman in her mid-twenties and has returned home after a mental breakdown. Her father, a local restauranter dies from a heinous act and Ash's life gets a lot worse when her moms starts dating... Nina, Ash's mom, becomes romantically involved with a handsome man, who used to work with her husband, Ash's dad years ago. And then there's Martha.. Martha is a late forty- something year old florist with three is struggling with her relationship with her husband who has a demanding job which constantly keeps him away from home. Then there is the story line for the unnamed conman. We know he's a conman almost right away (I'm not going to say more on this because I feel like I'll give it away).

The multiple storylines come together is a shocking way.. I still can't believe it! The story was fast-paced and engrossing. Jewell did a great job crafting such a shocking story. The sad thing about this story is that I feel like this literally could happen to anyone.. The conman and the story just felt too real. The epilogue was a pleasant surprise.

I went into this book with a lot of hope - Lisa Jewell is an author I’ve been looking to get into and I’ve started reading another one of her books, but this one didn’t seem to live up to its name as a thriller.

Throughout the first half of the book it felt as if it was just filler. The book consists of three main point of views, and nothing substantial had happened in any of them. Towards the last half of the book some elements of suspense started to happen but once something was revealed, there was never a big event to follow it to build the suspense. If anything, this book felt more like a mystery that had a few dark elements to it since the entire book was the main characters trying to figure out the connections between them. I even found myself predicting the big reveals and twists, something I never do!

The ending had a reveal that didn’t quite make sense and came with no explanation to even support it, and just felt like a grab to give readers a ‘satisfying’ ending. Overall, I pushed through this book because I wanted to read a good thriller that Lisa Jewell has been known to write, but this wasn’t it.

Thank you to Netgalley and Atria Books for the advanced e-copy.

I always find something to love about a Lisa Jewell book, and there are only two of her books I have yet to read. This had plenty to love, although I was really hoping for a 5 star read.

The subject matter of this one will read like an edge of your seat thriller for some, and it will be a bit heartbreaking for others. I’m in the second camp, as this is a story that just hits so close to home, having a close family member this happened to, who raised her beautiful son alone from the 3rd week of his life because of her con artist husband’s disappearing act.

But however it hits you, it’s a good book, and I could not put it down. Lisa Jewell does a great job of keeping you guessing until the end, and then she delivered yet another twist after you thought it was all over.

Is this her best book? Nope, I don’t think so. But she’s consistently delivering 4 and 5 star reads, so it’s sort of irrelevant at this point.

Wow! This one grabbed my attention from the start and never let go! The way it was written was so artfully done - twists, turns, interweaving of the stories. Lisa Jewell has really mastered this psychological thriller.
The antagonist is one that throughout the book lives up to his name. What’s crazy is that this person could easily exist and wreak all the same havoc in real life. I highly recommend this book!

This isn't what I expected, at all, from Lisa Jewell. It took me a bit to get into it but by the end I was hooked!

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for allowing me to read this arc in exchange for an honest review!

Don't Let Him In is one of the most aptly titled books I've read in a long time. While there weren't many surprises or twists in this story, it did reach every one of my emotions. I had to stop reading a few times just to catch my breath. The sign of a well written book is having such strong emotions towards all the characters, and that was most certainly the case in this story. From the most egregious case of gaslighting and narcissism to the extreme naiveness and blind eye turning, it is a wild roller-coaster ride from start to finish.

Several women fall victim to a seemingly great guy and some even marry him and have children with him. It's not until his most recent conquest, Nina, that his scheme starts to unravel. Nina's daughter Ash smells a rat and decides to investigate. With the help of several of his past victims they discover his sinister plot and come up with a plan to finally end his game.

Once again, Lisa Jewell upped her game and spun a dark, psychological tale. The writing was smooth and it's told through several POV'S. It is definitely one of my favorites by her and I highly recommend reading this one.

Thanks to Netgalley and Atria Books for the advanced copy

Lisa Jewell is the master of making you think "what is going on with these people." Off the heels of None of this is True, comes another suspenseful novel of lies and questionable motives. I wish I had gone in without reading any reviews, because people have hailed this as more twisted and surprising that None Of This Is True. I didn't quite find that to be the case, but it was a book I devoured none-the-less. Nina Swann has recently been widowed after her husband Paddy, restaurateur and life of the party, was pushed in front of a moving train. She's grieving the loss and so is her daughter Ash, who was the ultimate daddy's girl and was just getting over a very traumatic incident in her personal life. When Nina and Ash receive a gift in the mail from Nick- an old friend of Paddy's, Nina just might find a new love interest, much to Ash's dismay. Martha is a florist in a small town nearby who is struggling to make ends meet with three kids to take care of and a husband, Al, who seemed so perfect, but is now making Martha question everything. What do Nick and Al have in common that could eventually bring these women together? There is a lot going on in this one, but I really liked it! The ending wasn't quite the slam dunk I hoped for, but it still did enough to tie everything together in a satisfying conclusion.
